I am a lifetime WW member....who gained weight with this last pregnancy. DD is now 5 months old and that weight I gained is not budging!! I need to lose about 31 pounds to get back to lifetime weight but would like to lose 41 pounds for my personal goal...

I just can't seem to get motivated though....any suggestions?

:wave2: hi!!
why don't you set yourself small targets like just aiming to lose 5lbs in the next 2 weeks. if you do it in small chunks it then doesnt seem such a big task !
i have lost 8lbs with ww and still need to lose 35lbs. so i'm aiming for 2lbs loss for next week..

great idea - I think my goal is a 2lb loss by next Friday....:) Hopefully I can do that! (I know 1 is the recommended amount but I am impatient)

Lilygator!! I'll try a stab at it!!! :)

Tips that I've used the work some of the time, all of the time, or I'm just plain fooling myself...but here's my routine...

1. Pick something ANYTHING to do or not do for 2 weeks....for me I like to do low carb for two weeks...two perks...the weight comes off quickly and it's enough to get my mind in "losing" mode and I really don't crave the junk food and sugar filled stuff I tend to eat when I'm not losing. I've also tried committing to 2 weeks of walking 5x a week....once I complete those 10 days I really am better at sticking to it...come on anyone can do or not do something for 14 days!!! :)

2. CUT OUT sugars....meaning forgo the coca cola, the sweet tea, sugar cereals, anything with refined sugar in it...stick to mostly natural sugars, honey, fruits,....make that the rule in your diet and on the occasional exception let yourself splurge and have a candy bar or a piece of cake...when I sat down and realized how much "hidden" sugar was in my eating habits I was slapping my forehead and saying "no wonder I'm not losing!" Now I only order water or an occasional unsweet tea when we eat out.

3. With the money I save with ordering water only I figure I need to reward myself with an inspiration outfit...I'll buy clothing on the 75% off rack...cause I figure I'll not be in it until next season anyway...but it feels GREAT to buy a size 10! :) And each time you lose 10 pounds..THROW out atleast 3 articles of clothing that are getting loose on you!

4. Make a visual chart you can look at and write what you would weigh if you lost 1-2 pounds a week from here to an end date...just knowing that by October 1st I can weigh in the 150's is motivation to help me stick to it.

5. Keep a journal here on WISH...those little folks that pop in and pat your back really do help keep you focused..you start wanting to encourage them then the words you're feeding them start sinking in with you...you start preferring a salad over a double cheeseburger/fries/coke! :)

You can do this!!! You've done it before...the hardest part you're probably facing is trying to do it with a baby...some days you'll have GREAT sleep and some days you'll be up half the night...so it's hard to get a schedule going....take naps when she does if you can then find some way to push the stroller for 45 minutes if you can....moving and choosing the right foods always equal loss! :)

YOU CAN DO THIS!!
