Just Curious. DC means Disney Collection for those that don't know.

hi: just my two cents. i never thought the point costs for the dc were great. we've just paid cash with ap rates for any times we stayed. it was always stressed that the dvc resorts were the best use of points.

My coice isn't up there. I haven't used it in the past, but I might in the future, to stay at AKL especially.

I'm with Buckylarue.

Haven't used it but might find a situation where I would want to in the future.

It wasn't much of a consideration in my DVC purchase decision.

We bought a resale that had all of last year's points banked so we decided to use them for the cruise. We figured normally we would not want to use our points that way but also figured we would probably never do the cruise unless we had this extra "push". Now we are all so excited about going on the cruise that I'm not sure if it qualifies as "Used in the past because I had to" or "Used in the past because I wanted to." :D

I think you forgot one important choice: No, not yet. That's my category. Doesn't mean I will but it doesn't mean I won't.

We're in the "not yet" group also. We'd love to stay at AKL -- while the points are high, it's nice to know that if we book a deluxe view, that's what we'll get. Under the old system "standard" could end up with the parking lot -- not what I'd like after spending a lot of points. This way, we have choices.

I am curious about the past, not the future. I realize that people may have the intention of using it in the future, but that's not what I want to know.

I'm also with the not yet group. Years ago, we stayed at FW when they had trailers, not log homes. Might use points to stay there again, take the cruise, or stay onsite at DL.

I wouldn't chose to use it, but I can see occassions when I'd be forced to. I'd be in the not yet catagory.

I am curious about the past, not the future. I realize that people may have the intention of using it in the future, but that's not what I want to know.Yah, but that's not consistent with the I would never use use DC points .... statement, which talks about the negative future intentions, you need the positive flip side. We like having the option available and it was a consideration in our purchase. It would be nice if there was a selection in your poll asking about future intentions, I don't think it would hurt the info your looking for. I look forward to being able to vote when there's a statement which better reflects my choice.

Oops.....so why is this reserected from August of 2001? I just saw that, I wouldn't have bothered to respond to such an old poll if I would have realized it earlier. This poll started over 2 years ago? oooooops

Put us in the "forced to use it" category and it got me very upset because it is a good waste of points. I would have much rather preferred staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas (our home).

However, when DCL cancelled our cruise 22hrs before we were due to leave our house for the 11/30 cruise Port Orleans/French Quarter was the only place available for 8 consecutive nights over Thanksgiving wknd.

So not only did we not have our cruise (yet) we were forced to use more points to stay at a moderate than a deluxe would have been!

This was our first experience using points as DVC members and not a good experience.

Sorry you asked but this is the truth.

I voted that I used DVC because I wanted to. That being said, I don't think it is a bad use of points when compared to the cash price of non-DVC resorts; however, when you compare it to the points required to stay at a DVC resort, it does seem like a waste. I will likely use points for DC again.

I am using points for my trip to DLP. Living in England it is a good option for us when we can't afford the airfare to visit WDW but still need to get a small Disney fix:D

I have and probably will again.I know it isn't the best use of points, but I don't care.Same way i don't care about w/end points at DVC resorts.
