I just checked the Loews site and the price and 4th night free, which I have booked for the middle of August shows up, but no free kids meals. Is this something that only E-Mail receivers can get? Maybe the site has not caught up I'll either try later or call. Thanks for the heads up. Looks like Disney is making Universal compete, love it!

The first weekend in October would be nice for HHN, but I bet they're already sold out. I'll give it a try and see what comes up at the RPR.

They aren't sold out yet.
I think this is the same promotion being talked about on another post....Check your August dates! (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=856325)

I booked this APH special 3 night get 1 free special for September last week for the HRH. Will we still get the kids eat free with this or do I need to rebook? We thought about trying the Kitchen one night with our son.

Thank you for the heads up on the rate changes for APH at Universal. We saved about $400 and we are staying an additional night for free! We will be at the HRH from 8/5-8/15

I have called about this deal and talked to many people at many different phone numbers and they have no clue as to what I'm talking about. I hve reservations at HRH 8/11-13 already and wanted to know if I qualified for the kids eat free.

When I called about the 4th night free no one knew anything about it either. They put me on hol, talked to supervisors and finally pulled up the Loews web page and found it. I'm wondering if it is a AP perk and you will only have to show your room key and AP to get the free meals. Have you called the AP number listed on the AP's? We are also booked and want to know what's up before we get there.

[QUOTE=Motherfletcher]I got this in an email today:

How come I never receive emails from Universal? We bought the 2 yr. for 1 preferred AP last spring, used them last July, and again this July. I've only ever rec'vd one snail-mailed notice about hhn---a month after it happened. I've filled out the online request to be added to the list, filled out a questionaire in person last year at US when we got our pictures taken. Did I miss doing some detail? :confused3 Thanks In this case, the "kids eat free" wouldn't apply to us, but some of the other stuff I've read on these boards would.

Guess I should cancel my August 7-11 Stay 4 Play free deal at $234 a night totaling $1043.64 with tax. It looks like I should book the room only at RPR and buy an 1 Annual Pass and get the discount and buy 1 2 day 2 park bonus pass for my husband. I figured it out like this $129 nightly x 3 nights (4th night free) + tax = $431.51 for the hotel room. APH $179.95 + 2 day 2 park bonus ticket $99.95 x 6.5% for tax(not sure if thats the correct tax %)= $298.10 for a total of $729.61. Saving $314.03. Does this sound right? I would also have to have the tickets I would buy sent to me or pick up at will call. Where is will call? I would need my AP to check in so where would I get my AP? Or should I just have them sent to me. If I ordered them now it says they would be in by July 25th and I leave on the August 7th. Any suggestions or anything I missed. Please let me know. I've never been to Universal, so unfamiliar with most of it. Thank you in advance for any info. Shelley

When I checked the Loew's site it has 129/night with an asterix that says additional rate changes apply during your stay which usually means an extra 20/night on weekends. The site says 4th night free with annual pass so I think your numbers are pretty close and worth a call to Loew's. I think you have plenty of time to have them mailed. Good $300 catch! And the kids eat free and your AP gets all kinds of discounts on food and merchandise.

My APH reservation for 8/28 to 9/1 (Sunday to Wednesday) also said rate change during stay. Turns out the rate change was $129 for days 1 & 2, $128.90 for day three and $.10 (yes ten cents) for day 4.
The savings paid for the APH, I also bought three power passes for $99 using the Florida Fantasy 5 coupon.
Have not seen prices this low in a while.

I also had a rate change, $129 for first 3 nights then $158.90 for the 2 week-end nights. What I thought was neat was the 4th night was the higher but that is the free night. Some places whould have given the cheaper rate as the free one. Out of 4 trips this is the cheapest I have had.

Rate Breakdown: 129.00 United States Dollars per night Starting Sunday, August 7, 2005 For 2 Nights
128.90 United States Dollars per night Starting Tuesday, August 9, 2005 For 1 Night
0.10 United States Dollars per night Starting Wednesday, August 10, 2005 For 1 Night
So should I just book online then cancel my first ressie or call to see what to do. I have to buy the tickets (AP & 2 day 2 park bonus pass)online anyways right? Thanks so much. Glad I saw this thread.

The kids eat free promotion is for any length of stay. Just show your pass at those restaurants.
I am confused on using the APH code. Can I use it if I have a "Power Pass" type annual pass, or do I need a special kind of Annual Pass?

I believe the offer is only good for those with the Preferred Annual Pass - the one without the blackout days.
I am hoping that they offer this same promotion in December as they did last year. The week before Christmas has become our favorite time of year to go! No crowds and all the fun of the decorations!

Do you remember when they gave out that promotion last year ? A quick trip to Universal the week before Christmas would be nice if the right kind of deal came through. :charac4:

If I remember correctly, they announced it sometime mid November. It was good from Nov. 28th through December 24. We ended up making last minute plans over the Thanksgiving break when we heard about it. Best trip we have had so far!
The only difference was that instead of the kids eat free, they offered free resort parking and coupons for 2 free drinks. Otherwise the room rates were the same, along with the 4th night free.
When we booked our room we used the APH discount. It didn't specify that you needed a "preferred annual pass" is that the case? I have a preferred but my sister who booked as one with blackout dates. Do you think this will be a problem?

It could be. The APH discounts are only good with the PAP. However, that said, I have checked in numerous times and they have never once asked to see my pass. However, others have reported that they have asked to see the pass. The risk you take is that if they ask your sister to see the pass and she doesn't have the PAP, her room rate will revert to rack rate. You have to weigh the risks. But you can upgrade your power pass to a PAP for around $60.00 if you don't want to take the chance.

Just got back last night from a great trip. I had originally booked RPR with the Stay 4 Play free deal at $234 a night, then I found out about the APH rate and called and switched to the APH rate at $129 for 3 nights and the 4th night free and ordered my AP. Yesterday when I got my bill hanging on my door it had 4 nights at $129 + tax, so I went to the front desk to ask about this. I told her I should be getting 3 nights at $129 and the 4th night free with the AP rate, she said she would have to check. She went in the back and came back and told me that deal was $229 a night with the 4th night free. I paid my bill for the 129 for 4 nights. So should I call back and try and get a refund? Has anyone else been on this deal and got that rate of 129 for 3 nights and the 4th free.
My reservation cleary states, "APH 4th night free promotion". I made sure that the front desk has that showing up on their screens when they pull the ressie and had the reservations manager email me the reservation stating such with the exact price for each night.
It took a couple of calls to make sure the front desk has the exact rate I reserved but I've heard of too many stories where people are charged at a different rate.

I got that deal last year... and yes, it was at the AP rate & 4th free. The web site has it that way now..they shouldn't have charged you. Go into the offical site & put dates in & see what rates come up. Print it out...than fax to them...and request your refund.

I got the same rate! YAY!!! When you recieved your confirmation email did it just say $309 or did it say $279 ? I know the weekdays are $279 and the weekends are $309, but my email only said $309. I am kinda wondering if i should call and have them send me an email with the specifics!! lol
Also, we are staying for a week @ the HRH. Do you think they would make me change rooms if i booked the first 3 nights ( sunday - wed ) at the APH rate of $279 and then booked the last 4 nights ( wed -saturday ) at the 4FREE rate of 3 nigths @ $349 with the 4th night free? Doing it that way would save us a little under $150 ( including tax ) but i dont know if it would be worth listening to my hubby complain about changing rooms.
thanks,

DF,
I have not received an email confirmation yet. I have had two room rates for one stay before. I was told when we made the reservation that we may have to change rooms. But when checking into the resort (RPR), I asked about it and she did all the paper work then. We did not have to change to a different room. I say go for it if it's going to save you money.

Thanks A mickeyfan. I will be calling with this info and tell them I want a refund and if they want me to fax the info I will. I checked on the website for my dates(before my vacation) and had the same deal you mentioned but then I called and booked it. I might have printed it up, but I didnt bring it with me. I'll have to check through my papers on my desk.

You are welcome... please let us know how you end up making out. I know that they messed up on my rates 2 times at the RPR. It happened prior to checking in so I was able to fight it & get it changed. The first time I fought, it took me several calls but finially they agreed then they lost my ressies & had to rebook for me. The second time when I saw I had to fight, I just told them to forget it & canceled. It never happened again after that. Good Luck :wizard:

I just got RPR for December 22 (one night only) for the $129 rate. We're going to be at WDW for 7 nights, and we were just going to pay for the Express Plus passes this time. At $129, though, we can't pass up the one night at Universal with two days of Express Plus. I was really amazed when this rate came up. Really.
