Any other swimmers? SWIM TO DISNEY CHALLENGE! JOIN HERE~

I can't jog or walk because of shin splints. I love to swim laps (used to swim in HS and a little in college). Anyone else swimming to Disney? Is there a swimming challenge anywhere?

It's 460 miles from my house to Disney. No way to swim that far by December, so my goal is to swim 10% of that amount or 46 miles by Nov 29. So far I'm at 1/46

I'll swim with you. My dd(2) loves swimming and we go a couple times a week but I should up that but I gotta get dh to come and play with her for part of the time while I swim laps. I could always sneak off and swim some laps before he comes over with her. ;)


I'll be moving to Florida in Sept on the 3rd so I can't swim the distance there from here but I'll calculate it from my dads and try to swim to Disney before we go there in Sept. :)

I wonder if there are other swimmers.

Only problem is the mobile home park my mom lives in has 2 pools but there is always TONS of unsupervised kids there. :rolleyes: So they splash in peoples faces and it might be hard to swim laps if theres many people there. But it seems to be less busy in the day plus school should start back up sometime next month so they'll mostly be at school.

Okay its 48.93 miles from my dad's house to Magic Kingdom. So I'm going to aim for 50 miles to round it up some. :)

How do you figure miles in swimming?

If you are in a 25m pool, 72 lengths of the pool or 36 laps (there and back) equal one mile. I've been swimming 18 laps, so 0.5 mile.
