Hi All-

MJ has an evaluation with a new Occupational Therapist first thing in the morning and then her Neurology Appt in the afternoon. I am starting to get very nervous about both. The OT for what they may say ("she's functional enough" I HATE that term) and the neurologist because I have heard that he has the bedside manner of a rock (and my only other choice is Gainseville several miles away) Also, we are in the process of filling out our forms for MJ and I to get SSI which is a horribly long and humiliating process.....so I am kinda a mess if any of you have some Prayers and Pixie Dust I'd appreciate it.....I'll keep you updated as to what we learn.

The good news is that we have an awesome meet with a friend planned this weekend and we'll be in the MK for the 50th celebration of DL!

PG and prayers from me too.
actually my DD's neurologist has also been described as having the bedside manner of a rock, but he is also a very good neurologist and DD actually likes him very much. He has never, ever talked down to her and he actually enjoys her dry sense of humor and teases her (in a sort of stoney kind of way).

Bonny, met a women at our new members class that is allergic to corn. She says it is really hard even as an adult because it seems to be in everything. She has to make a lot of things from scratch.
Still trying to find out if SA8 and LOC have any corn derivatives in them for you.
Just found out I am allergic to my favorite food. No more shrimp for me :( Really a bummer. Now I have to watch out for mangos, shrimp and nutrasweet.

Prayers, Pixie Dust, and lots of hugs!!! :grouphug: Keep up the great work mom!!! I agree with Sue, some of the best doctors have pretty bad bed side manners, but as long as they are great at what they do, to me, that is the most important. (unless your child is petrified of them of course!) Also, if you don't feel you are getting the answers, keep pushing. You know your child best! :lovestruc

Prayers and pixie dust from me,too.

Re:SSI paperwork and interviews. I've been there, done that for my dd.
All the paperwork involved is very grueling, even being reevaluated. And personally for us, our SSI caseworker is nasty to me. She has been from day 1.
I could tell she doesn't want us to have the SSI money at all. I have had to fight for a lot of things with her to continue SSI. Recently, my dh has had a couple of raises from his promotion at work. Now, for income purposes, we are off the SSI, which, in a way I am so glad.
So extra prayers and PD to you for going thru the SSI process.
