And we're both bringing 3 kids. :flower: We must be near each other on the ship..... We're going to 8078. It looks like a good place to be for a first cruise.

I think we're all more excited about the cruise then anything else! :Pinkbounc Dh is already planning our next Disney cruise! And our two older children were very jealous! They are 25 & 22 -- we don't pay for adults to travel! :rotfl2:

Wow so you actually have 5 kids, it's just two of them aren't "kids" anymore. Your two youngest are close to my two oldes(they will be 9 and 3 1/2). We have two rooms (my mother is coming with us) they are 2602 and 2604. Also we have the late dinner seating. My DH is definitely not planning our next cruise(he wouldn't know how to do it if he tried). Trip planning with him is just like wedding planning was, I just tell him where to be and what to do and he goes along with it. As long as there's food there he pretty much dosen't care what we're doing. I see you're at the Grand Floridian for the land part. We're at Port Orleans French Quater. Are you doing MNSSHP? We're going on the 16th. I'm trying to wait patiently to book our shore excursion(Atlantis) & spa treatment (Rasul). Also, the kids club.

We'll be there, too. This will be our second cruise and the first that our DD9 is "paying for". She won it at WWTBAM-PI! in June. We sailed the same time last year and the weather was great. Hopefully the same will be true this year.

OMG, that's great!!! She must be so proud to be able to take her family on vacation at 9. Are you guys doing a land vacation too? I'm a little concerned about the weather since this is supposed to be such a bad hurricane season. If it turns out to be true, hopefully it will be all out of the way by the time we sail. Can't wait.

Oh yes, she is very excited about it. :cloud9:

No, we will only be doing a sea vacation. Both our DS :earsboy: and DD :earsgirl: are out of school :teacher: part of that week, so there is just enough time to go on the cruise and get back. No extra time for visiting the parks. We'll probably go to the parks over Spring Break.

Usually hurricane season is over by that time of year, so let's just keep our fingers crossed. :umbrella: Also, if they know of bad weather, they can usually plot a course around it. Last year had a bad hurricane season too, but the weather was pretty much perfect for the cruise. Only once do I recall the least bit of rocking of the boat, and that was only for a few minutes.

How awesome that DH will be home safely, AND you get to do a cruise for the 1st time? Dosen't it seem like time is moving slooooooowly? Our land portion starts on the 15th, so we're just under 2 months now. Will October ever get here? I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas. We haven't been to Disney in 2 1/2 yrs. now so whats 2 more months.

I'm hopin that I'm not the only one with 2 toddlers( 1 y/o and 3 y/o) at the late seating. If so then you will be able to find me easily, just follow the flying food. LOL. Actually they are pretty used to eating out, but on the ship, who knows.

It's on the Nassau day. I think we'll do eye patches and t shirts. maybe more, but probably no less. Since we're doing a big MNSSHP dress up, we'll be a little more subtle for pirate night.

We were originally gonna fly in on that date too, but decided to come in on the 15th instead. We've always done a park(usually animal kingdom) on the day we arrive. This time we thought it would be nicer to come in a day earlier. We'll probably go see a movie and go to dinner or something but no parks. Especially since I'm SCARED TO DEATH to fly. Once I get off that plane, I'm gonna need the rest of the day to recover. I haven't flown in 5 yrs and I'm NOT looking forward to it.

Oh yeah , as for MNSSHP. Look for us too, we'll be
Cruella(me) & dalmation(DD1)
Jafar(DH) & Jasmine(DD9)
Queen of hearts(my mom) & Alice(DD3)

MNSSHP = Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

My son is trying to hard to get me to take him on your cruise for his birthday which is the 21st, although we just got off the magic 9/17. My wife and I want to go to the Bay area as we do every fall but he is trying hard. I'll let you know if we get on. If you have little boys you should get there picture made in a tux with Mickey. This picture was when my DS turned 3 on the Wonder back in 03. I cherish this picture

I just decided to read this area of the cruise chat lists. We will be going on the cruise and we are so excited. :cheer2: :cheer2: It is myself, dh and our 2 daughters (7 (Jaide) and 3.5 (Taylor)) and a first cruise for all of us. It was a "surprise" from my dh for our 10 year anniversary although he let me book the cruise since he thought I would find a better deal! We are heading to WDW next Friday and will be at WLV for 5 nights, then the cruise and back to OKW for 7 nights! Can't wait for 2 weeks of pure Disney fun! We are doing MNSSHP on the 25, anyone else? Have all my documents and finished my panic since we couldn't find Dh's birth certificate (I completely spaced passports and don't want to spend another 250.00 to expedite them so we are doing birth certificates-any one else just using bc's?). Just counting down the days.

Yes, that is the same way we pronounce her name. It isn't a common name so that is strange that there are 2 Jaide's/Jade's on the cruise. Mine is 7 and will be spending lots of time in the lab (I hope:)!).

We have never done 2 weeks before and I am more stressed about packing than anything else! We are really excited though and can't wait until the time arrives! Anything remotely warm and sunny will be so much better than the rain that has set in here in the Seattle area!

Our Jade is signed up for the lab also. Since mine is 9 I don't think they'll be in the same group, but I know my Jade will be happy to know that there's someone else named Jaide on the ship. Due to several factors, including illnesses and the hurricane, we were forced to postpone our cruise. We're disappointed, but it was the right decision under the circumstances. Hopefully we'll be in a better position to go on the rescheduled date.

So did we all have a great time?

YES!!!! And 3 days isn't enough time! I didn't have time to see anyone other then my family. :flower: Or do to do even half the activities I wanted to do! :goodvibes Dh and I had to remind ourselves that next time we'll have 10 days! :flower:

We were on late dinner rotation APT. We had a table to ourselves (#31). 4dd cried & cried Saturday night when she realized that we had to go home the next day. :goodvibes she told us (between tears) that she wanted to live on the cruise ship. :rotfl2: She loved the kids club. She went there Friday evening for a little bit and then on SAturday for an hour or so at Scuttles Cove then later back on the ship she wanted to stay there. She did come out and eat dinner with us but, had me take her back to the kids club before our dinner was over. :)

If anyone was at the 6:15 Disney Dreams (near the lower middle section) I was the woman with a boy (7 ds) that had an irate male screaming at me -- *You stupid, freaking woman. What don't you understand about me researving the entire row.* It must have gone on for over 5 minutes (dh & 14 dd were getting snacks & drinks) and then the man dumped an entire frozen drink in the seat next to mine so that we couldn't use it. What a WHACKO!
I don't imtimidate easily. :goodvibes He had an infant in his arms for most of his tirade. The one time when there wasn't a CM around....
BTW- NONE of the people that he *reserved* those seats for sat in them. :rotfl: :rotfl: DH thought maybe they saw him screaming at me and didn't want to be associated with him. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
14dd told me that he was the man that she had seen the night before (when she was on her way to Aloft) yelling at his wife. :sad2:

:sad2:
Oh my goodness. I was at the 6:15 show and I didn't hear any of that. We were near the back on the left(if you're looking at the stage). Wow, why are some people so crazy? And can't you even control your craziness for 3 days? We loved it also, and decided to do a longer cruise next time. I can't believe how lucky we got with weather.my kids loved the lab & club. We had late dinner 8:30 and our rotation was PTA. We also were at a table by ourselves. I really wanted to do the bridge tour, but didn't get a chance to. My DD9 did with the Oceaneer lab, but all she said was that there were alot of buttons. When we got to Nassau, we got off of the ship for about 20 min. and then decided it was nicer on and went back. We stayed on the beach at Castaway Cay for a few hours. Time seems to go so fast on vacation. We are planning for another trip, but it's hard. I don't want to take my DD9 out of school anymore(she's in 4th grade now and had so much work to take & make up that it's getting hard on her). I'd really like to do a week at Disney and then a 7 day cruise, maybe in June when school gets out for her. I don't know but I will figure out. Glad you had fun.

LOL! NO kidding! :goodvibes We had sat on the left the other two shows and 7ds had asked me if we could sit in the middle section for the last one. During Golden Mickey's dh had to get take 4dd out after the villians came onstage.... Which is why 4dd wouldn't even come to Disney Dreams. I told her the Princesses would be there. :flower: After the yelling wacko, I'm glad she was in the Club.
Nassau -- after we (7ds, 14dd & myself) finished the aquarium tour I was happy to go back onboard! We tried to shop near the ship but, the music was so LOUD. It annoyed me. :teeth: So, we went back onboard & ate lunch (pizza) and I watched ds swim while 14dd went to on the Thriller Powerboat tour with the teen group. DH & 4dd got back around 3 or so from the Dolphin Encounter.

I know what you mean about school stuff. We homeschool but, our kids take a couple of outside classes. And missing a week of Biology & Algebra have nearly done 14dd in! DH had wanted to stay another week but, i told him that his dd might have a heart attack if she missed that much class time.. :)

Hope everyone has a great time and stays safe.

Due to several factors, including illnesses and the hurricane, we were forced to postpone our cruise. We're disappointed, but it was the right decision under the circumstances. Hopefully we'll be in a better position to go on the rescheduled date.

Sorry we won't get to meet those that are going this time around.

Rob

I hope everyone is feeling better soon! We had beautiful weather for the cruise.

I had considered homeschooling my kids at one point. Actually, I still toss the idea around in my head. It sure would make vacationing easier, LOL! I was homeschooled for a period of time, but I was an only child. I think it would be alot more difficult with 3 children. How was the aquarium? It was the Atlantis aqaurium right? We had originally booked that tour, but cancelled b/c I didn't want to have anything planned this time around. After a totally scheduled 5 days at Disney World, I wanted our ship time to be more leisurely. If it was good though, we'll have to check it out next time.

We've been homeschooling for quite a while now -- 16yrs. When our oldest started 4th grade. One of the reasons was so that we could travel with my dh. He doesn't travel very much for work anymore but, homeschooling has been great for us!

It was the Atlantis aquarium. I didn't make the reservations until we got on the ship. Since dh & 4dd were going to be gone nearly the whole day -- Dolphin Encounter -- we (7ds, 14dd & myself) decided to do something together. It was a very nice excursion. We had a good guide, etc.....
We had thought about scheduling a Stingray thing on CC but, decided to have 1 day with nothing that was a *have to do*. :)

Sorry you didn't get to join us, when are you rescheduled for?

We were a bit worried about the rescheduling because the weekend that we were supposed to go (ie. when you went) was the only weekend we were originally allowed to take the prize cruise that wouldn't require us to take our children out of school. Pretty bad considering it was our daughter that won the cruise in the first place. However, the circumstances being what they were, Disney has allowed us to reschedule our cruise for their Spring Break week (end of March/beginning of April). It still set me back $140 for the change, but that time of year should work out well for us.

Sorry it took so long for me to respond to you. My company is closing the office that I work from and wanting us to move to New Jersey to work from Morristown. We took a trip up that way to get a feel for the area and the housing costs. Based on what we saw, it looks like I'll be looking for another job in the local area instead.

Well I have to say that I am a life long Jersey Girl and if you did move, you would love it here. We get such a bad rep here, but I wouldn't want to live in any other state (well maybe Florida). It can be expensive, and I think Northern NJ is worst thsn South where I live. I'm glad things worked out with your rescheduling. It must be nice to be looking forward to a cruise shortly. We're planning on 2007! Have fun
