Hi,
Does anyone know if we can request a highchair for our room? Also, are the highchairs the type that have a tray or are they the kind that you have to move toward a table and they eat off of the table?
I was wondering if I should pack my own or rely on the resort one. My child likes having a highchair with a tray...
Thanks!

The high chair is the standard restaurant type. No tray and needs to be pulled close to table. We have found them in the closet at our villas.

We just came back a week or so ago from a 2bdrm. They are just as the previous poster says. wooden, no try, in closet next to vacuum.

The home away from home resorts aka Boardwalk Villas, Villas at Wilderness Lodge, Old Key West, all have restaurant style highchairs in the room (main closet next to the vacuum and p-n-p). I don't think the regular resorts have them for the rooms though. I remember asking once when we were staying a few nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge and was told no.

Another option if you want one with a tray is renting one from A Baby's Best Friend http://www.abbf.com . There are actually a few places that rent baby eqmt that have been mentioned here on the boards but that's the only one I can remember right now.

ETA: there is also a small tray meant for a stroller but can also be used on trayless high chairs: Twingles stroller tray (http://www.epinions.com/Twingles_Collapsible_Stroller_Tray) Just another option I thought you might want to consider! :)

If you have a car, you can go to Wal-Mart and get a strap-on booster seat with a tray for under $20. Don't even bother bringing it home - it's probably cheaper than renting anything, and easier than hauling your own along!
