I know they opened a new Super Walmart in the Orlando/Kissimmee area but I have no idea where it is. We used to go to the one near Shell World and it was so mobbed even at 12:30 at night.

There is a fairly new Super WalMart - last 2 years - off of Rt27 North at the end of Rt192.? :confused3
We've used that each time we have been on vacation and it is always nice, clean and most importantly - not mobbed- :goodvibes

That might be it but I do not think so b/c it was not open last summer when we were there.

:cool1: When we were there in April there was one under construction on the SR535, not far from the Lake Buena Vista Factory Outlet mall. they were having a job fair at the Calypso Cay resort, which is just down the road, at that time for Walmart. I would think it would be open by now. :wave2:

Yes that must be it. Thanks. There are quite a few Wal Marts in the area but only was new> I think they built it to take the stress off of the one on 192.

The one on Route 27 just north of 192 has been open for at least six months now, probably longer.

It's clean and never crowded, and the closest to AKL and AS's. I'd still go there before the ones on 192 or 535 because it's less traffic congestion to get there. And Simka's Sweet's in Cagan Crossings just across the road has great ice cream.

For anyone driving down 75 to the Turnpike, there's a new Wal-Mart being built up on Route 27 about a mile south of Route 50. I'd guess it will open early next year, *maybe* late this year.

Clean and never crowded?? You CAN'T be talking about a Walmart then, lol. I have never ever been in one that looked/felt clean. They do have low prices though...

The new SuperWalmart is on SR-535 in the Calypso Cay area just south of the LBV Outlets. If heading there from MCO on the way to your resort, take the South Exit from the airport to SR-417. Get off 417 at exit 6 (Epcot/Downtown Disney) and proceed to the 2nd traffic light where you will turn left onto SR-535. The new store will be on your right, and I believe it is just after the 2nd traffic light, again, just south of the LBV Outlets.

I was there the day after the grand opening and like most Walmarts, it was already untidy and felt like an old store. But it does have those Walmart prices if that is what you are looking for. :)

I could deal with the crowds a little better if they had enough cashiers to handle them. But waiting more than 15 minutes to pay is a little absurd to me. If you really want my money, make the effort to get it. Until then, I will shop at Walmart's competition.

Regarding the cleanliness...I agree.

How would i get there from the BWV? Thanks.

From BWV, turn right out of the parking lot and proceed to the traffic light. At the light, turn left on to Buena Vista Drive. Follow the signs to the Orlando International Airport/SR-417 and you will take a right hand exit onto SR-536. Continue on 536 to the 2nd traffic light and turn right at the light onto SR-535. The entrance to the WalMart will be on your right, after the 2nd traffic light. If you're driving your own car, they also have a gas station there with cheap gas. :)

Is it a SUPER WALMART?? WE usually go there to stock the condo with food etc. While I HATE WalMart I am willing to swollow my pride when I am in FL because they do have the best prices.

According to a fairly recent thread on the budget board, this is the address of the new Walmart Supercenter on 535:

Wal-Mart Supercenter Store #5420
3250 Vineland Road
Kissimmee, FL 34746
(407) 397-1125

Yes, this is a Super Walmart with the full grocery section. They also do have a huge selection of Disney themed merchandise.

Can anyone give me some examples of what type of Disney merchandise they carry? We are not huge souvenir buyers, but we do need a few things this trip, eg, Disney coffee, something for my puppy, Stitch T-shirt for DS, scrapbooking stuff, and possibily a camera strap. Is it worth the drive over, or should we just stick to the stores on property?

If you can think it...they have it!! Just kidding they have just about everything from pens to shirts, towels, jackets, tote bags, magnets, etc. If they have it in the park there is a pretty good chance they will have something like it at Wal Mart. Keep in mind the tee shirts have a Mickey on them and say Florida not Disney but they are just as good quality and probably a minimum of half the price of the park shirts. I got pajama pants for my son's gf as a souvenir. They have EVERYTHING!!

As for your puppy, I am sure they have something but if they do not they had some cute Hawiian shrits for dogs for 3.97 with velcro and four leg openings. They did not have my dog's size (moose) but they had smaller ones. They were hysterical .

Not to belabor the point, but if there are a lot of WalMarts in the area, can anyone tell me which one is closest to POR? Directions? ;)

Is there any way to get there by Lynx bus? I often take the public transit to the one on 192 from MK.

i loved the walmart on 192 ok is it just me or are the walmarts you go to on vacation better then the ones you have at home? I think they make it better to cater to the tourists.

there is a quicker way to get there - go like you are going to AK - but get in the left lane (AKL) - at the traffic light turn left - Sherberth Rd - then in a about 1/4 miles turn left again -Black Lake Rd - at the traffic light turn right you are now on US 192 - when US 192 ends turn right - US 27 at the next light down (has a BP gas station in front) is the Walmart.

this is a BIG and I MEAN BIG store. be prepared to walk like you would at the theme parks. Yes, it is very, very clean and not crowded as of yet!!!

some people like the other Walmart despite their being crowded and everything because they are smaller.

The new Walmart on SR-535 is probably the closest, plus you don't have to deal with 192 to go there. Exiting your resort, follow the signs to SR-536/417/Orlando International Airport. Basically, this should be a left turn onto Bonnet Creek Parkway, a right onto Buena Vista Drive and a right exit ramp onto SR-536. Once on 536, move over into the middle lane as the right lane exits onto I-4. Proceed straight on 536 to the 2nd traffic light which is SR-535. Turn right (south) onto SR-535 and proceed past the 2nd traffic light. The entrance to Walmart will be on your right.
