I have resv's (not guaranteed yet) with Alamo and I found out they are not a good car rental to go with. So which is a good car company to go with coming in at LAX.
If I do not find a good car company then I will do what WebmasterMichelle adv'ed me to do.
Thanks

I have not used Alamo in the past... we have used Thrifty (yuck), Budget (just ok), and National (best of the ones we've used).
If you are a member of the Emerald Club, it makes it that much easier to get going on your vacation :) Plus, you get shuttled from the terminal to the car lot in a bus with the big Mick on the side... how can you go wrong :D
If you are a Disney Club member, you can join the Emerald Club for free. On our next trip to DL in November, we are saving almost $50 on our car rental, which is worth the price of the DC membership alone!

I rented from Dollar in August with no problem. In November I will be renting from Budget. In my opinion they are all about the same. But as far as rates go, they can be very different. I made my reservations over the internet with no problem. I use this site: http://www.disboards.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=78370&goto=newpost
or http://www.bnm.com/la.htm (they should bring up the same page). Check it out and use the "comparison between companies" feature. I'm renting a car for 9 days for $119.
Lastly, be aware that NONE of the rental car companies are located at LAX. They are all offsite now. You have to catch a bus that will take you to their parking lot and counter.
Good luck:smooth:

Forgot one thing. Whichever car rental company you decide to use, be sure to enroll in their "express checkin" program. They all call it something different, but usually you can find the application online and fax it to them. They will send you an I.D. number and then you can call and add it to your reservation. It will save you considerable time when you go to pick up your car. They usually have a "fast lane" for members. They have all your information and all they have to do is hand you your keys without a battery of question.

Do you remember if Budget has an "express checkin". I am thinking about doing that company due to they have a special running until 9/30/01.

A Budget it's called "Fastbreak". Here's the link http://www.budget.com/deals/fastbreak/index.html

Thanks lminster. I reserved Budget and cxled Alamo. The only thing with the fastbreak they say it takes from 3-4 wks to get confirmed. We are going in 3 1/2 wks so I do not know if it will work but I will try.
Thanks again for your help with this.:):
Oh I forgot to mention with the web site you requested I go on I got a full size car at $7 over a midsize. That web site had a code that gave me that good rate.
Again Thanks.
