Hiya!
Great vacation so far. It could rain a little less though. We loved AKL and Riverside. Our biggest surprise (we thought) came at GF. We were upgraded to the (are you sitting down?) Walt Disney suite. I'm talking a 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, living room, dining room, triple terrace land of wonder. It was amazing! Although, Universal topped them. We arrived at PBH and found the feeling of being at home. I don't think it will be a question of where we are staying if we go again. Our room type ( 2 connecting deluxes)was unavailable so an upgrade to a "VILLA " suite! Yippee! It helped that we were double Platinum members. So I'm off to listen to my Italian music CD because I just ate way tooo much. The elastic waistband aren't even cutting it anymore. :rotfl2: Wish us sunny days. Talk to you soon. :sunny:

That sounds so incredibly great.

Double Platinum? Must take a lot of hotel stays.

Glad you are having a great stay. Sounds like lots of great things happening this trip - upgrades everywhere.

Fill us in on all the details of the Villa Suite. Which one are you in? How is it?

Details, Details please :flower: as we will have one in less than 2 weeks and Imgonnabe40 will be in the one right down the hall.

Have fun in the parks!

Awesome upgrades!!
I love the Villa suite, it's my second favorite on US property.
I thought the Royal suite at RPR was nicer, only because it's newer, more updated. Liked the view from the villa suite better.

What is double platium?

I just returned today. Talk about a soggy few days! UGH
We were also upgraded to a king suite at RPR from a standard room. Very nice! Also Platinum.

We ate at Mama Dellas last night. Yummy!

Have fun!

Way to go! The Walt Disney Suite at GF is incredible! Can you still rub shoulders with us ne'erdowells?
I must be double plat too. I have two cards! Glad you are getting taken care of so well! I, too, wish the rain would stop long enough that I could mow the yard.
Did you get the email from Bev? She has to reschedule your MIB outing - she got a job.
Can you still fit into the One Fish, Two Fish? Or do you need a third fish?
I hope you got pictures of the rooms! Keep us informed!

Hi,
I'm sitting here eating raspberries- a whole bowl. We're off to Islands for water rides, but it looks like the sun isn't coming out again.
Yes, I got Bev's message. Thanks!
Double because I got a card from last year's trip and hubbie travels for work. We are in the villa wing. It's kinda a fake terrace because you have to wiggle out. The doors open only a little, but who cares we can sit out if it stops raining.
Villa suite details-
2 bedrooms, 3 baths, liv rm, dining rm, kitchenette. Disgusting isn't it! :rotfl2:
Gotta go refill my berry bowl(and no I DON"T FIT) in my shorts or my pj's. You cannot believe how much weight I gained. Even the elastic waist are fullt extended. Last nights pot stickers and coconut chicken at the lounge did it. Ta-ta for now. :sunny:

Greeting to our cyberfriends at the PBH!

Great to hear about the upgrades, disneymom. I hope to be enjoying a Villa Suite about 19 days from now! Can you tell us what room you are in? Also, do you have a DVD player in the parlor? How big is the fridge in the kitchenette? Is the coffee maker the standard mini, or do they put a normal sized one in the suites? Oh--since I like to bring my own coffee, do I need a cone filter or a standard filter? Thanks!

Hope you're having a good time as well, Dagny! :sunny:

They'd better NOT count! not with all the places my family wants to eat at again on our first day---Saturday! 2 days away!! So far, Nascar Cafe as soon as we arrive around noon, Margaritaville, Louis' Pizza........my oh my, should probably start packing to go, huh? Sounds like more than the norm rain going on too? It's neat to hear from people while they are actually there.......enjoy yourselves!

I think there are dvd players in the bedrooms and living room. I know the bedrm for sure. If I'm wrong abouit the liv rm I'll post. There is also a cd player with cd's, dvd's to borrow in the lounge. The frig is the mini type and there is a microwave. Theres a coffeemaker in the kitchen and in the cabinet as you enter the bedroom-I think its mini and round but I'll double check tonight.
we did Dudley and JP a zillion times, but my kids woundn't do Popeye with me. :sad2:
And I've decided to eat until I explode-life is too short.
BTW the sun came out and it was great until around 3 then heavy rain for an hr only today.
Hoping for potstickers tonight. Yummy!
Motherfletcher-They have wooden trays now in the lounge so you can carry back from the pool table. :rotfl:
The parks were empty early this morning and opened a liitle early. As usual my advice- Go EARLY! :cheer2: No lines at all! Walked on all.Bye :grouphug:

Thanks for your willingness to assist even though you are on vacation.

BTW where are you posting from? If I am not staying club, will I also be able to use the internet access? Or, maybe I am club if I am in a Villa Suite? :confused3

Hope you have a great time. :flower:

Will they let you load up the wooden trays and take them to your room? Didn't think so. I still have my Simpson's tray that the kids got me for that purpose. I can see you putting the whole bowl of raspberries on the tray and waving bye to conceirge! :wave2:
Good luck on MIB today! If you are on the green side, which is the side that they load most hotel guests, shoot the little divets (stay on one with your finger squeezing the trigger all the way) on the big bug instead of worrying about the red button bonus. Another fun thing to do is - when loading there is clock on the wall with 15 on it. When they open the gates to load your row and Zeb says, "Come on Rookie, We aint got all day!" the clock starts counting down. Try to get in the seat and fasten the seat belt within 4 seconds or by when the clock says 11. The MIB Agents get a kick out of that.
Early morning at USO is fun, too. Say "Hi" to Jim and Carmen at the turnstiles from the guy from Naples. They'll know. They give me more greif than anyone should have to bear. Ask Jim if it might be possible to "open" the park one morning.

She got me last year. We checked out the day that they checked in. I didn't sign out on the computer either. We're both just lucky that she didn't post a bunch of "Dis"-graceful threads! :badpc:

when I had the villa suite they offered me club for an extra $80.00 per night. We didn't have internet access that I know of. The computers are in the club lounge.
There was some kind of keyboard in the room, maybe web TV?

goofy!
07-01-2005, 02:48 PM
There is high speed internet in the rooms in all the resorts if you are bringing your laptop. The connection port is right by the phone. In December, we forgot our cable and just called Star Services and they brought us one. It is 9.95 per 24 hour periods. It is very simple to use - just connect, go to the website in directions and purchase. Then the rest of the time you just connect and log on. You do have to go to the purchase website each 24 hour time and order the next 24 hours.

If you don't bring your laptop, there is web tv available - which is the wireless keyboard in the drawers. Don't know how much that is per day because we always bring a laptop. But that you access through the TV menu.

And thanks for the info on Villa Suite / Club as we were wondering the same thing!

Are the safes at PBH large enough to hold a laptop? What do all of you do with electronics like that if they don't fit in the safe?

Eclpz314
07-01-2005, 02:56 PM
It's the same price for the web keyboard. My kids decided against using it when I told them they'd have to pay for it themselves ;) Two years in a row now, and they haven't missed using it.

Hi,
Yes, you can load trays and bring it to the room. Many, many people are doing it several times a day. Last night was quiches-yuck to all who eggs. Ices are now the afternoon offering and pasteries are combined with cookie/chocolate time. I was REALLY disappointed this morning-no raspberries or choc croissants.
I forgot to look for dvd player, but hubbie said it's there.
I don't know if villa suite is club-sorry.
Off to meet Bev-Universal Freak wasn't there at 11.
Trattoria del Porto tonight.
Motherfletcher- How much roughly is the annual pass and what would I pay about for a club rm here this time next year. I also have AAA. Don't know what the best rate is without ENT now- need help because I mUST stay here next year. Thanks!!!!
Ask away for any help . It's my pleasure! :sunny:

I had a great time riding with you and your son. He was so polite and even acted like he could understand my strong Texas drawl. I thought we might need a translator with my accent talking to a New Yorker but we made out fine.

Your son is very good on MIB and didn't need many tips. He is a natural and I suspect he will get all 9's within the next day or two. Just tell him to be brave and give up the bonus as he can get more points off of the big,big bug. Be sure and buy his picture when he first maxes out!

AP's are $191.65 but renewals are only $99.95.
APH rates for PBH Club for 7/2 is coming up at $329.
The best deal I can see, right now, for next year is the Ritz at $139!
I bought a bunch of Preferred Annual Passes on a charity auction a while back. They don't expire. Let me know if you want one and I can save you over 20% off the regular rate.
Did you do the character buffet at Trattoria del Porto? What did you think?

Goofy- If you don't bring a laptop the one on the TV is the same price but kind of a pain :badpc: (I found myself retyping way too often). Thedisneymom is using one of the 2 that are in the club lounge for nothing.

Phamton-
Thanks for being so nice and meeting us. My son raved about you and your skills all night. He has made it to the mid 7's but promises to practice and achieve it by next year. I found you to be as sweet as can be. Many thanks!!!
Motherfletcher-
Thanks for all the advice and I will probably purchase from you, but what's a preferred? Is it different from the prices you listed? Do you need an annual per room or can you book 2 rooms with one pass? Wow-I'm shocked that the Ritz is less. Are those PBH club prices for 2 or 4 people and can you have a cot brought into a 2 queen? Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to figure out how to do club while my son does grad school.
Trattoria had Woody and Scooby. We like it a great deal. A pasta buffet with some meat dishes. There was a brisket with a delicious sauce, a mahi dish. chicken with creamy garlic sauce, and a dessrt table. There were also many salads and cheeses. Very nice and you could really fill up.
IMGONNABE40-
The safe will not hold a laptop -very small wall type with room for a manilla envelope size.

The Preferred Annuals passes are the ones I bought because they get the discounts and free parking. I didn't need to, but bought PAP's for everyone in the family. The other AP is the Power Pass which has some blackout days but only costs about $100 now and offers no discounts. I think you can get more than one room with PAP's especially at PBH because they have never asked to see the pass anyway. The PBH Club was for 4 but 2 are kids. You can get a rollaway but they charge $25. Don't worry about questions- that's what the forum is for. We've got to help get him through grad school so he can take care of all of us when we get old, feeble and so heavy we can't get up!
The character dinner sounds the same as when we went. The food is good but it seems so quiet compared to WDW character dinners.
Any fireworks yet?

Sorry for the delayed response, but I was computerless since arriving home. Thanks for the info Motherfletcher. I will give details about vacation soon. One thing though that was great-my daughter who didn't want to play bingo at PBH won 50% off our last night's room charge. What a vacation! If only it hadn't rained most of the time.

Help! What are platinum cards? How do you get upgrades? I have been to DW and US too many times to count and never get upgrades. I know they are running a brisk business in August when we are returning because in the 10 minutes(truly 10 minutes!), it took to call my husband to confirm a second room with him, the Yacht club had sold out of that particular room.
Any suggustions? We will be at PBH aug22-26 and YC Aug 26-29.
Can't wait!! :earsgirl:

Sign up for Loew's 1st here:
http://www.loews-first.com/Loewsfirst.asp
They'll email you a number that you can use right away. Then they start you out with a Blue Card then after a few stays they send you a Gold Card and after a few more they finally send you the Platinum. Getting upgrades with your Loews 1st is easy compared to upgrades at WDW Resorts.
