Well I've been thinking about this all day and I finally decided I need my fellow DIS folks to assist me with my dilemma. I want to purchase my Snow White DVD's from a Disney Store to ensure that I receive The Jungle Book as my free selection. I called Buena Vista Home Entertainment last night, and he basically told me that by purchasing through retail (Zellers, Walmart, Toys R' Us), it's first come, first served because you have to send away for the free DVD after Oct. 9th (need proof of purchase), which basically guarantees not getting any of the DVD's on moratorium. So I have no choice but to purchase from Disney Store, but I live about 3 hours from the closest Canadian Disney store (I can place a phone order), and 30-45 minutes from US Disney Store. Here are the numbers:

CANADA: Snow White Hamilton store $26.99 + tax = $31.04 total with pin and 4 lithographs. Shipping is an extra $12.50 (UPS) which brings total to $43.54 CAN.

US: Snow White $19.99 + tax = $21.18 US with pin and 4 lithographs. Exchange rate at 1.57 = $33.25. plus bridge/tunnel toll: $14.00 CAN. (purchase and pick-up) TOTAL: $47.25

WEBSITE: $19.99 US with pin & 4 lithographs. With exchange rate, shipping (outrageous!) and duty the total is too high to even consider.

My question is: what do I do? My DH said that we could go for the day to Toronto or Hamilton to pick-up the DVD, but it is my mom's birthday, and Thanksgiving the weekend that it is available. I am so frustrated! Snow White is my favourite Disney movie. When I was in WDW in July, they warned me that there would be lots of different pricings and bonus offers available for this promotion. It's still a good deal considering that I am getting 3 DVD's, pins and lithographs, but they only ship by UPS which adds an extra $12.50 to the cost. All family and friends live in my city, and so I don't even have anyone available that could pick it up for me.

Guess I am looking for some advice as to how other people have purchased their Snow White DVD's. I also have a 10% off coupon from my Sampler pack, but this is not applicable because it is a phone order, and Snow White is a presale. Anybody know about the 20% off Happy Meal coupons that are available in the states? Does anyone know if all Canadian Disney Stores are selling for $26.99?
Any info. or advice would be appreciated.

Hi we live in London and I happen to have an uncle that works for purolator and could ship them to you at the employee rate which would be around 5 or 6 bucks I think. Problem is I would have to pick them up and would need an address and phone number etc and this being an internet thing I know how people can be with the trust issue. just think about it and if you have any questions e mail me or send me a private message

I practically live at the Hamilton DS store(they know me by name there, hehehe)All DS's are pre selling Snow White. The Hamilton store has about a two week supply of the collector pin left(manager told me)
The coupon from the Happy meals in the states are not applicable to pre sales.
If you think that it would be cheaper for me to pick it up for you and send it,please let me know.I would be willing.

Thank you both for your quick responses! My DH and I had our driveway, patio and landscaping finished during the past 2 days and so it's been a hectic couple of days - no computer time for me. Anyway, I thank you both for your generous offers to assist me - I have decided to have the items shipped by Disney Store because that is the only way to guarantee I receive my Jungle Book DVD. We were going to go down for the weekend in order to pick up DVD's, and do some shopping, but they basically told me that I needed to come right on Oct. 9th to guarantee my free DVD selection. This doesn't sound right to me (it's not possible anyway because I live 3 hours away), since if I've already placed a phone order and paid for it in full, then my package should be waiting for me to pick up a few days later. It is all a bit confusing since I called Toronto Eaton Centre store this morning, and they gave me different info. as well! So I decided the only way to guarantee I get my package is to have it shipped directly to my home. Again, I thank you for your generous offers to assist me, but I don't want to cause anyone any amount of inconvenience.
