Do the kids REALLY wear them? Are there any good ones. Is it worth even bringing ponchos for the whole family?

We used ours last year, luckily it rained only 3 hrs one day........really hard, so we needed them. My daughter who was 4 did wear hers. I had gotten her a child sized one by Coleman Kids so it wasn't as large. I'd say they are worth bringing if it rains.

We went in '98 in September and it rained every single day. We bought the Disney ponchos which held up for our trip. The child size one was a bit long for our 3 year old so we ended up tying it at the bottom so he wouldn't trip. When we went in September 2000, we only used the ponchos a couple of times. September is still hurricane season. We found it was better to be prepared and dry than to be wet for the rest of the day.

I went to Wal-mart and bought the entire family the clear hooded ponchos for $1.00 each. They are found in the hunting section. For my 4 year old and 6 year old I just opened them up at home and cut them off at the bottom, re-folded it up and wrote their name in their package with permanent marker. It wasn't too long for my 9 year old.

I got a toddler sized poncho at Eckerd, (where I work). It is made by Fisher Price and features the Little People. It comes in it's own case, the poncho has a zipper pocket in front, and they come in blue and pink. It was a little pricey- around $6.00 but it is heavy duty nylon and can be worn many time. Also I just remembered, it had this neat feature- it has Velcro under the arms so you can create armholes and anchor to you child a little more securely.
Hope this helps,
Sherrie

I saw Wal-mart had adult and children sizes in bright orange this week. They were around 3.00 each and looked pretty good quality. They would be easy to spot your child in with all the Disney World poncho look- a-likes!

When my son was 4 the child size was to long. One of the CM let me use their scissors from behind the counter to cut it. He wore it with no problem. Everybody else was wearing one and he wanted to stay in the park.

The day it rained, we left our ponchos that we bought at Wal-Mart at the hotel, it started to rain really hard, so when we finally bought ponchos, we were already wet, and it stopped raining:D I don't know if you really need them or not. I don't think so. We now have about 15 ponchos from disney!!! :)

Have a really great trip!!! :) ;) :D :p
