Today, if all goes as planned, the Toon will have the opportunity to meet with our very own lovely Idratherbeinwdw. She is here in New Orleans in this sweltering heat :sunny: and not able to check the DIS Boards. :guilty:
Please post any questions , wishes :wizard: , updates :wave2: , warnings about Toons :sad2: , or anything else you think appropriate. :flower2:
I'll print this and bring it to her as sort of a greeting card from the DVC Bunch. Thanks!

 Hiya to you both. Are you going to have beignets at Cafe Du Monde? Maybe a muffeletta for lunch? (those just sound gross to me - but one of those "New Orleans" kinda things!)
Ok - the only rule that I have for your meeting (as if I get to set the rules) is Toon, you may NOT disappear for 2 months after this meeting! so behave Mister!
I do hope you two have a great meeting! :teeth: Do report in and don't work too hard to not get a chance to enjoy steamy N.O. (couldn't they have sent you in the early spring - ack,..Mardi Gras - cancel that - how about fall...I bet fall is nice lol) Something cold to drink is definately in order! :drinking1
Have fun....from the jealous one!

Well...my question is more of a discussion topic to think about:
If a 6 foot tall Mouse comes up to your table as you are eating breakfast, how do you react?
1) Scream;
2) Pray;
3) Slowly back away from the Cheese; or
4) Hug the mouse and take pictures.
I appreciate your answer may depend upon location.
Have fun in New Orleans! :earsboy:

Have a great time!
However, I'll repeat teh fact that neither of you is allowed to disappear after your meeting. That would be completely unacceptable!!!!
So, is this the romannce that was eluded to????
Six words for Idratherbeinwdw....
GO BACK BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!
Two Bad Poets at the same table, how glad I am not to be their waiter.
Here's to Hanname (or is it now pheasant) in your soup.
Enjoy!
(Pssst, Did you bring some Purell?)

Well, if you're a New Yawka living in Jersey..... the 6 footer is probably a rat. Probably not a Kodak moment.

Where'd y'all go? I have to live vicariously through others since I have a new, very demanding boss, who happens to be a three week-old infant.
And lllovell, re: the muffelettas, you don't know what you're missing! I have a new favorite place for them and I'm truly addicted!

Just realized this morning that the hotel I am in has web TV. So this afternoon, after I attended the seminars I had to go to I hustled back to the room to check up on the board. Man I can't even stay away for one day!
Well the phone just rang and it's time to go meet Tooneric. if you never hear from me again you know what to tell the Police investigators.

I had a great time meeting the Bad Poet tonight. We walked around New Orleans mostly on Bourbon Street where all the action is. NO I DID NOT STRIVE TO GET ANY BEADS don't listen if Toon tells you otherwise. :)
We had dinner and drinks and talked about--guess what? What fun it is to meet up with another DIS-er and discuss WDW/DVC/ and all the characters on the DIS Boards. BTW he is surprisingly opaque for a Toon, almost lifelike!
I hope someday to meet more folks from these boards. If greenban, DeeDeeDis and Tooneric are typical examples of DIS-ers we are one terrific bunch--whacky and totally immature, my kind of folks!

I thank all of you for your pm's concerning my safety with idratherbeinwdw. I'm happy to report your concerns were unfounded and she is not a toon crazed stalker afterall. I admit her knowledge of cartoons has me wondering if she might have been one herself at some point in time. How she transformed into a human (and a nice transformation I must say!) I don't know. I had a very nice time meeting with this fellow DVC DISer. She is as charming and witty in person as on these boards, although I wasted quite a bit of money on Mardi Gras beads to no avail.
Mar, it was truly a pleasure meeting you and getting to know you. Sorry the service at the restaurant wasn't exactly DIS worthy. The company more than made up for it in my book. The nerve of that waiter - mumbling under his breath all night about bad poetry.

He must have been low on hanname yesterday! Glad you 2 had a good time. Are youtelling us it's over already?? One dinner, a beadless walk on Bourbon Street and that's it? How can we live vicariously through you with such an innocent 1-time meeting? ;)

I am very glad all went as planned and that both Toon and Mar are the wonderful people we have grown to know and love.
:)
I am so glad I stumbled onto this place!!!
What a beautiful way to begin a budding romance...web tv, mardi gras beads, bad restaurant service, scores of discussion board addicted strangers cheering you on...I'm so verklempt...
I assume we can expect a bad poem to commemorate this special occasion?

No, I'm just not telling! ;) Can I say that? Okay, I would like to clarify that what I mean is that Mar is a really cool person, and I hope that you all get a chance to meet her some day.
And yes, Rash, I will work on a bad poem worthy of honoring my new dear friend, idratherbeinwdw. Heading to the FL panhandle this weekend for my inlaw's 50th, so it may have to wait until next week. You can't rush bad poetry, and my censors must proof it first.

No, we discussed that and agreed no more children. They require too many DVC points.

Instead of a Hurricane (never cared for them) Try their Mint Juleps. They are absolutely fabulous on a very hot day.

God, I love New Orleans - even in the heat!
Riding the streetcar, beignets, pralines, and my very favorite in the whole world - Muffelettas!! God I wish I were there right now.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if Disney bought that Six Flags there (used to be Jazzland) and turned it into a Disney resort???? Oh, my God, would I be in heaven then?!?

:cloud9: Yeah, and while we're dreaming, Disney makes me the New Orleans DVC Resort Manager and I have unlimited points to give to all my friends, and the Saints win the Superbowl, and CarolMN gets a DVC Resort in MN :cold: , and... oh, there's the phone... back to reality....

I was on my porch on the lookout for the crazy bead-wearing duo and thought I saw some questionable activity going on around here. I could have sworn I even heard "hanname" but it might have been the dogs howling. Maybe not.
BTW, I make a mean Mint Julep (I even keep the mint infused Bourbon in my fridge!!).

Yeah, that was probably us. In keeping with my "needs a life" attitude, I greeted Mar wearing a "Hello, my name is Hanname" nametag. Not to be outdone, she promptly handed me a lime green Home Depot Disney paint sample. True story.
As for the "infused" mint julep, that sounds awesome. I'm off of work now. I'll be right over. Make mine with lots of ice, please.

Actually it was really funny. When Tooneric arrived he did indeed have a "Hello my name is Hanname" nametag. He pointed to it as I handed him the Lime Green Mickey Head paint sample. We had a big laugh right away, and that's pretty much how the evening went. Lotsa WDW/DIS talk, lotsa kidding around. And he said he didn't even mind that I left those electric curlers in my hair since he really loved the fishnets and silver boots.
