we will be at rpr on the 4th and was wondering if anything special is planned for that night and week. i know there will be fireworks, but anything else ? concerts, parties or anything like a lot of street performers ? we will be either still in the parks " enjoying fotl " , or at citywalk during the fireworks, which is better ? staying 7/4/05 to 7/8/05.

They've been putting out full-page ads locally promising fireworks (natch), live music, games, and an "All-American Cookout" from 8 to 10 p.m. Entry to the "preferred viewing area" (where all this might be going on) are $8.
Anyone want to bet there will also be Uncle Sam stiltwalkers?
citywalkorlando.com for more info.

Hi Jason. You've answered a question I had about preferred seating for the fireworks. Does the ad you have been seeing say anything about where or when to reserve the preferred seating? We're coming down to RPR on the 2nd and I'm wondering if it will be too late to reserve? I tried to get info from that site you posted, but can't find anything about July 4th. Any info? Thanks!

There will be a party atmosphere and Citywalk clubs might have specials. But keep in mind, it will be a madhouse! Fun, but a madhouse. Very busy and lots of people!

This will be our 3rd time visiting in July...just a couple weeks earlier this time because we actually wanted to join in the celebration. I figure we'll handle as much of the crowds as we can..............and then retreat back to RPR! Gosh, we love that place!!!!!!!! 9 days and counting :flower:

Guaranteed to be one of the single busiest days of the year, but, I can't resist. I'm guessing whatever stuff they've been advertising will take place in CityWalk, near the lake. I see people camping out on that patch of grass next to the steps every year to watch the show from there. I'll probably be going to IOA again. I watch from a different island each year.

Just an update on the 4th. Citywalk is selling $8 tickets for reserved seating (at the area right at the foot of CW) There's pie-eating contest, games, food, etc. I just called guest services and got 4 tickets to be picked up at will-call after we arrive on Sat. It's finally advertised on the US website.
