We stayed 2 nites at the Grand Floridian. A very nice CM at the front desk gave us an upgrade to a lagoon view! We were on the 5th floor of the Boca Chica building and had an AWESOME view!

This is Richard the doorman with Cathy and Alison

Here is the Carrige out front!

Alison did the "adventures in cooking" they read a story, make aprons and get chef's hats and then they baked apple tarts. When they were finished they wheeled the cart around the lobby of the Grand Floridian, handing them out to guests!

Here is the new swimming pool! The old one is open 24 hours as is Gasparilla's Grill and Games, the fast food place!

Mom and Dad had Dinner at Victoria and Alberts while Alison hung at the Mouseketeer Club. V and A was absolutely incredible! All of the servers are named "victoria" and "albert" and they are some of the best trained on property or anywhere for that matter. The server told us about a happening that was going to occur at the table next to us. A young lady and her mother were coming in and the mother was going to excuse herself. The Daughters boyfriend had flown in from New Orleans to propose to her and she didn't know! Thank goodness she said yes!
You pick one item from each category on the menu.....

Fantastic pictures, Alex! You had a view that couldn't be beat! :D :D :D Isn't Richard great? We encountered him last year when we were eating at 1900 Park Fare for dinner then trying to rush to find a place to watch the fireworks. Even though he was obviously in a hurry to get somewhere, he took time enough to show us where to go. Great guy.

And I repeat: great pictures!! :D

Alex, your pictures are just fantastic. The one of the kids with the tarts is precious! :)

That's an amazing view... I didn't know there were rooms that had a view of the Poly, the MK, and the Contemporary all from the same balcony. Looks positively romantic. Maybe I'll see if DH will pop for V&A some time... sounds wonderful!

Great pictures, Alex! So, how did you like having a dormer room? And, what did you think of the floral theme?

Thanks!

Thanks for posting more pics Alex. The menu at V&A looks wonderful. I know you guys enjoyed yourselves there. Alison should write a trip report on the Adventures in Cooking. So many people have questions about that. It would be nice to have a kids perspective. :)

I thought the Dormer room was GREAT! It's more interesting than a standard room and the view is incredible. The floral theme is nice, fairly subtle...

Webmaster Alex - did you do the grand adventures in cooking on August 10th? I think my son and daughter were there the same time as your daughter. We were the family that "followed" you on the monorail to Epcot. I thought when we talked on the monorail that you were very DIS like. Little did I know!

Great Pics - We had booked 3 nights at the AKL in Oct but have just changed the last night to stay at the Grand Floridian before our cruise. We can't wait. I hope we get a room with as good a view as yours.
