When are you going? On non-peak times, reservations aren't needed in advance. Actually, we have never made a reservation more ahead than the morning.

Our family loves Mythos the best of all restaurants there. It is in IOA.

I also LOVE Mythos is IOA. We usually make reservations the day we want to go for dinner. If you want to go to Emeril's or Tchoup Chop, you need to make reservations in advance. You can make them on www.opentable.com

How about for the character breakfast? We always do a princess meal at disney for our girls and would like to do the one with spiderman for our son, despite all the bad things I've read about it on this board. How far in advance would you need for this(we are going in August)?

We ate at Mythos. The service was below average and the food...just average. It was much too pricey for the food and service we received.

We did, however, enjoy a counter service restaurant that was located right next to the Jurassic Park ride. I can't remember the name but the building was nice...relaxing atmosphere...and the food was good.

Maybe we expected too much from Mythos but we could've done w/o it and saved ourselves $100 dollars. I have no idea how they got the best theme park food award!

We did the breakfast for the first time on 6/9 and I made reservations about 30 days in advance and the only seating left was 10:00.

I don't know if it was because of the late seating, but the place was only about 1/3 full and we had lots of character interaction. (This has been our experience with late seatings at Disney too.) Spiderman came to our table twice for about 5 minutes each time. He told ds to eat and sat with him until he finished his fruit. They talked in great depth about how he repaired his costume after Doc Oc had ripped it and how ds shouldn't leave his web slinger at home. It was fantastic and I took at least 20 pictures!

We weren't rushed at all and a CM even came around asking if we had seen Cat yet and when we told him we hadn't, he sent him over right away.

The food wasn't anything special, your typical hotel type of buffet, and the drinks are not included like they are at Disney, and just to warn you the chocolate milks were 3.75 each, the orange juice was 2.75, and the gratuity is included in the bill.

I wrote about it in my trip report over on that board too if you're interested.

Have fun planning.

Thanks for the info. I actually want a later seating, so we should be okay.

I cant go to the parks without eating at Mel's, NASCAR Cafe, or Hard Rock Cafe. My family just loves these places. The atmosphere is great and the food is even better.
