Hey all, planning a trip to disney from Aug29-Sept3. We are planning to drive from Markham down to Orlando. On mapquest, they show a total of 2200km approximately. I got a quote for the All Star Movies Resort for 3 adult 1 children.
5 nights
2 MYW Tix non-hops
free dining
-----------
TOTAL: $997.56usd including tax.
and then we're going to Universal Studios probably for the other 3 days so
2days/3rd day free tix $112w/tax x4
------------
TOTAL: $448usd including tax.
------------------------GRAND TOTAL: $1450 x 1.24 = $1792.50cdn
now the question, how long does it take to drive down there? 2 days? and how much approximately will be for gas for both ways? And, am I missing anything that I should account for?

Welcome to the Dis. :cool1: :cool1:
We drive straight through and it is about 23 hours from Toronto. Gas has gotten a little pricier but we spent about $350 CDN for 10 days of driving.
Don't forget your food money for Universal. Make sure to show your CAA card for a discount if you belong to CAA.
Figure about $10 in tolls.

That's about what we paid too, with a mini van. Now keep in mind if we stopped for lunch or a bathroom break we topped up the gas no matter how low it was. Have fun. If you are planning on driving I75 I reccomend Dave Hunter's book ALong I-75 check it out on www.i75online.com it's a valuable tool. Best of Luck

Nice, I was putting in $600cdn for our budget for gas. So did you also pay only $10 in toll? is it for both ways?

Yes- the $350 was for the entire trip and the $10 for tolls was entire trip also.

don't forget about the hotel rooms on the way down, and your meals on the way down. Last time our hotel room ran about 40 US.

ya, we're still debating on whether or not to drive down around 22 hrs straight or stop in between....meals, we'll probably just bring some bread or pre-cook something to save us the total cost....
