Anyone stay here? I like the idea of a lazy river. Just not sure about staying at a convention type hotel. The location for me is not a problem, we have stayed in the Champion's Gate area previously. Any comments?

Just to let you know Travelzoo.com has this hotel listed for $99 a night if it can work out for you.
I've never been but 4 stars for $99 would sell me.

I haven't stayed there, but I have checked it out. Nice place. Marble lobby with several restaurants. The pool area is beautiful. Nice lazy river and a couple pools. One of them is a spa pool with cabanas around it where you can get massages. Half of the hotel overlooks the golf courses.

Thanks for the info, I have it booked for the $99 rate. I'll let you know what I think. I saw a number of very good reviews on tripadvisor, with a tip to rent one of the cabanas.

A word of warning, the restaurants are a bit pricey. We ate at the "Sports Bar" when it first opened. A club sandwich with chips was like $8 or something like that. Not too bad, but a little on the high side. The funny thing is this "bar" had black marble table tops, brown leather seats, and rich stained woodwork. :) I have been meaning on heading over to Zen for lunch. Haven't made it yet.

This is my son's all time favorite resort including WDW and Universal. Sign up for their Club and get a certificate for a free upgrade.

Have you eaten at Zen? I'd love a review. I haven't gotten to go over there yet.
Sushi closer than Wiolfgang Puck's would be heaven.

It is 4 miles West of a WDW exit on I4. It is also in a great place to access the back way to WDW property, Sherberth road (via 545).

The special is through travelzoo, good June 15 through September 10. Must be booked by June 24th. Also, there is a $10 per night resort fee.

We used both routes while staying in the Champions Gate area a couple weeks ago. There was much more traffic on Old Lake Wilson Road (is that 545?) due to the construction of lots of new condo developments. We finally decided tha I4 even with the construction was faster for the times we traveled. Luckily we were never delayed much on either route.
I am thinking next time we stay in a villa we need to be a bit closer to 192 if the level of traffic on Old Lake Wilson gets any heavier. Once you get to Sherberth, it is a breeze. I also like avoiding 192 except for that one block getting to Sherberth.

No, it was just my son and I and we rarely "dine". We ate at either McDonald's or Subway which are real close. The restaurant looked nice but pricey.
The whirlpool behind the towel hut is a very nice somewhat secluded escape.
The water never got hot enough to take a bath or comfortably shave. Shower water pressure and volume were OK though.
DS16 loved the lazy river and basketball court.

Yes, that is the same road. Before Reunion started development, no one every drove on that road. It was great. Now, even if it is stop and go from Exit 58 to 62 in I4, it is much faster. Those 4 miles stop and go still only take a few minutes.

Another good place to eat in that plaza is Pepperon'. It is an Italian restaurant (run by a French guy). Around the corner is his other place, Le Crepe. That is good too.
The Chinese place, China One has had a very bad report in the news lately for bad hygene and dangerous food practices.
And, of course, there is a Publix there.
All definitely within walking distance to the Omni.
The water temperature is a funny thing. Champions Gate gets water from Kissimmee. I don't know if this is a factor, but for most of the summer, the tap water never gets much cooler than luke warm. On the other hand, it is odd that you'd have hot water issues at such a new place. You would thinik that they would have adequate facilities to provide the whole coimmunity with hot water.
