I have recently returned from a camping weekend at a place here in PA and got talking to a couple of people who were heading to FW in the fall. They said the sites are small and that there is little room between your site and your nieghbors site...to quote her she said " they pack um in as tight as can be". I am a family of 5 with 2 dogs and a 29ft TT. Is this true that there is little room? Of course I don't want to believe her but I have not seen it with my own eyes yet. :confused3 They said the only reason they stay is for the busses to and from. If anyone has a picture of there site I would love to see it so I can get a better judge as to size. We are thinking of comming in May next year for 2 weeks!! :yo-yo:

some of the site pads are tight, but there is lots of room between units. Wooded room, so you the area is not open between the 2 units. And the site sizes vary. We;ve always had plenty of room.

I;ve seen campgrounds where one unit's awining is 2 inches from touching their neighbor. Not even close to that at FW.

I'll look through my pics and see what I can find.

I'll PM you with my email, and then will send you the pics.

FW was build late 1970 Rv's where a lot smaller I have a motorhome some site are a little hard to get into. We go to FW about 8 time a year it is the best campground we have found. You will have no problum with the size of your group. If you get a preferred loop it cost a little more and the site are bigger. hope this helps have fun..

I actually think the preferred sites are packed closer together than the regular full hook up sites as a rule. All the loops have some sites that are a little closer together than others and some have much longer or shorter driveways. I think the vast majority of the sites are fine. They are not spread out like state parks but they are nothing like I have seen in RV parks either.

Here (http://community.webshots.com/photo/335959189/335959189DUgbSD) is a preffered site.

This (http://community.webshots.com/photo/240587997/240594648iiUYTo) is another preferred site in the 400 loop

This (http://community.webshots.com/photo/174057241/174057241bTlDBY) is a partial hook up site for tents and pop ups.

Do a search on webshots.com for Fort wilderness and you will see hundreds of pics of FW.

I have never felt packed in at FW. Here is a site on the 1600 loop.

We stayed at FW in July of 2004 we had a preferred loop in the 100 loop. We had a 25 foot bus which towed our 30 ft Travel Trailer. All told we were about 60 ft. We stayed on site 108 for all but the first night of our trip. Here is a picture of site 108. http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/63925site_108-med.jpg

We arrived a day early and were lucky enough to get a pull through site for one night. It was site 1203.

We called FW directly 10 days prior to our arrival and told them what equipment we had and they gave us a site to accommodate our needs.
