We last went to Disney in 1996 when my son was 4. He enjoyed the characters and Fantasyland among other things. Im glad we went when he was young. This year he's not into the characters or riding Dumbo anymore. LOL This Oct he will be 9 when we go back. What will spark his interest more at this age? Im not sure he'll get on RnR but maybe Test Track.

Last Oct. my dd was 6 and loved TT. She is 7 now and plans on riding it again next week. If my ds is tall enough, I will bring him on too. It is not bad at all. Just a fast car.
Although she said she wouldn't do it again, my dd also did ToT (I didn't) with my dh.
Have fun.

Don't be so sure that he won't get into the characters when he gets there.Away from his "cool" 9-year old buddies he might just have a great time with them.My DS is also 9 and still looks forward to doing the character meals. No princes's meal and Pooh only because he loves him mom enough to give into her.Donald Duck is still tops! Nine is a great age because they can do everything.MY DS is tall enough for all the rides and says he is ready for them all.Even adults get into the characters when they get there.Have a great trip. Can't wait till January to do Disney with my 9 year old.

My DS will be 9 when we go in October too. He has the Birnbaum for kids by kids book and it has really got him excited. He is looking forward to the MK Mountains, Buzz Lightyear, Kali Rapids, and Dinosaur. He is also psyched for Donald's Breakfastasaurus and Sci-Fi Dine In.

My son will be 9 also on our next trip. Did you see my thread above? Anyways, I'm really hoping that he will still enjoy the characters. He won't do Dumbo but he will do the other Fantasyland rides-he still really likes Peter Pan. Do you really think your son won't like the characters or the rides in Fantasyland? We went when my son was 3, 5 and 7 and the one thing I noticed last time, was he was not into riding the rides over and over again. When he was 5, he went on Small World 5 times in a row. Now, for the younger rides, once is enough?

My son loves to shop so he really enjoys looking for souveniors.
