Hi, I just thought I'd introduce myself since I've decided to take the WISH challenge.
We just booked our first ever trip to WDW for September, and I'm SO excited! But at the same time apprehensive about the water parks, kwim? I'm not sure how much I need to lose (don't have a scale), but estimate it at 5-10 lbs - enough to feel comfortable in my swim suit and fit in my size 8 clothes again.
For the last week dh and I have been riding our exercise bike for 1/2 hour a day, and trying to eat healthier - less sweet and fatty snacks, and healthier meals. DH doesn't have too much trouble with it, but for a sweet-tooth like me, it's hard! I was glad to find that I'm not alone.
I'm excited to have found this forum!

Melinda--Welcome to WISH!
You will find a great support here. Glad that you found us. To see your post about making healthier choices and that you have begun your exercising is definitely a great start to get you toned, feeling, and looking better.
Yup, those sweet things are most difficult and will plague me forever. WISHing that you can find the strength to resist.
Come often, post lots!

Welcome to WISH!!! If I were you, I'd drink LOTS of water, exercise more and use different types of exercise, start a WISH journal and read others' journals.
Drinking water helps curb your appetite. Exercising more makes those fat burning hormones eat more fat. Different tpes of exercise keep you from being bored. A WISH journal will keep you accountable. You can give others support and friendship.
Good luck!!

welcome Melinda!!! i'm so excited for your upcoming trip and what a great motivator!!! Our second trip in 2003 was my inspiration to lose almost 25 lbs thanks to WISH!!
i have regained about 8 lbs back and i hear 'ya -- your introduction could've been mine. My 8 jean shorts are wayyyy more tight than I like 'em! we'll do it together!
I'm a HUGE sweet tooth and i have found ways to enjoy a sweet b/c i just can't give them up! Have you tried WeightWatchers ice cream treats? they are so yum! Healthy Choice ice creams and great too! Another favorite is fat-free sugar free jello with fat-free cool whip.

I'll have to check out the journals. My SIL has a rule: If you bite it you write it. Is that the basic idea of the journals?
We've been doing pretty well at home, both with eating and exercising, but I fell off the wagon yesterday - we went to some friend's house for a bbq and there were great appetizers, and pop, and good desserts... just too tempting. But I figure if I splurge like that only once in a great while it won't set me back too far as long as I get back on the wagon the next day, and not use it as an excuse to just stay off.
It's great having somebody to talk to about this!
Now I'll just need to hang around this board awhile and learn where to post things, etc.
