HRH info??

I was thinking of staying offsite but after reading these boards it seems I would be better off staying onsite, especially with the FOTL access.
I was thinking of the Hard Rock Hotel for my mother, two kids (boy & girl) and myself. With my son being 13 I think it would be better for him to have his own bed. So I would need three - or 2 beds and a sleeper sofa which most have.
I looked at the website but can't get a good idea of what the rooms are like. Can someone let me know what they think of the rooms and of the hotel itself? Also, is there a link somewhere for anyone's pictures of the rooms?
Any and all info would be appreciated. We are planning on going there next summer. This will be the first time at Universal for us.

I can't recall all the rooms with sleeper sofas, but I do know the club room had one in March. For the expense of all rooms at HRH, I'd seriously consider making the kids stay up late watching Conan O'Brian till they didn't care where they're sleeping. Then you get by with just 2 queen beds at a decent rate....and all have FOTL forever!

Kidsuites are one option, sometimes you can get some great discounts. They have 2 rooms, one with a king bed, one with 2 twin beds.
