Transportation options after Illuminations?

My DW and I will be staying off-site for our Oct. trip to WDW. Wednesday, the 3rd, we will be hitting Epcot as our park of the day and will most likely be parking our rental car in the Epcot parking lot. We have reservation's for the Illuminations cruise leaving from and returning to the Yacht club. I understand it is only a short walk from the International Gateway to the Yacht club. My question is, what would be the best way to get to our car after finishing the cruise? Epcot would be closed by this time right, so we cant go through there? Any suggestions?

Park at the YC or Boardwalk resort hotels. Enter & exit at the international gate. If the cruise leaves from the YC, the guard should allow you to park, especially at the YC. I'd have my cruise ressie for the guard, if the guard has any questions.
