My family is planning a trip in September and are looking at the different weekends. I know we will not be going the first two weekends, but was hoping to get some insight!

According to this website - http://www.scottware.com.au/theme/feature/crowds.htm - crowds drop off immediately after Labor Day weekend.

Of course, with the 50th anniversary, crowds may be higher this year, but it still looks a good time to go.

Do keep in mind that weekends are also more busy than weekdays, because a lot of locals come then.

I do whatever it takes to avoid weekends, but did get experience with a Sunday last year. (In September, of course--that's the only time we seem to travel.) The crowds were heavier, but manageable. The crowds for the parades were heavier than I was used to, but it definitely wasn't a crush. The lines for the rides were somewhat longer, but with FP's they were okay. Also, keep in mind that rides are probably going to down for refurbishment in the off-season.

This September should be better for ride refurbs since they did so much of that getting ready for the 50th. HM may be down for its holiday overhaul however. We went the weekend after Labor Day last year. That Friday (it was the 10th, my dd's bday) it was a virtual ghost town. At around 3:00 we were on Main Street just shocked by how few people were there. Saturday and Sunday picked up but nothing like other weekends we have been. It was a great time to go obviously since we will be there that same time this year! Don't know how the 50th will affect what is normally such an off season time of year, I guess we'll find out!
