My dh and I love making many many visits to Pleasure Island when at WDW. We are considering a trip to CityWalk also during our Fall trip and are interested in hearing more about it. Is it just like Pleasure Island or is it just a strip of restaurants and stores without the nighttime "atmosphere" that PI tends to have??

Thanks!

One difference is you DON'T have to pay to go to City Walk. Yes, there is "night time atmosphere". It is shops, restaurants, and clubs. There is usually some sort of outdoor entertainment going on too. Very lively atmosphere! It is not quite as big at Pleasure Island.

But would it be as fun for a married couple in their late 20's who like to have fun? :D

City Walk is a more grown up atmosphere than PI...kids are not allowed in the clubs, a wider variety of music. More restaurant/food options than PI and Downtown Disney. We love City Walk...we are PAP holders at Disney, but we find ourselves spending more evenings at City Walk than PI. Definately check it out!!

My 20 somethings like city walk better than PI...I guess you have to choose, give it a shot, what do you have to lose?

Thank you so much for your opinion. I definitely want to check it out. Unfortunately, it's gonna have to be another time as my dh has decided that we should just save our money and postpone our trip for another time. :( :( :(

Well... someday I'll get back there.

I'm someone who actually likes PI better than CW. The aspect of not having to pay to go inside is nice, however, but once I do go inside PI, it has more things that interest me. The restaurants, shops, bars and nightclubs of CW aren't really my speed; the closest is The Groove and even then I can easily skip it. It's also nice that you don't have to pay a huge price to go into just one club at CW as opposed to PI.

I don't club all that often, though, so I'm not a frequent visitor. LOL I'm still pining for The Cage at PI...shows you how long I've been in the area and how infrequently I do the night scene.
