Is it essential to have the printed confirmation in hand when you check in to DVC, or is the reservation number sufficient?

I've been methodically sorting the paperwork for our trip into sections for the various components - one envelope for flight, one for car rental, one for USF, one for Fort Myers and one for WDW, etc. I don't know how or why, but I can't find the confirmation for our SSR ressie  I've always had the confrimation in the past, but can't remember whether anyone actually wanted to see it at check-in.

I'm normally so well organised with this kind of thing that is borders on obsessional , so I can't understand why it isn't there, but it isn't.

Should I:
a) run into a blind panic and cancel the whole trip
b) ring MS and ask for a duplicate
c) forget the whole thing as the ressie number is all I need?

Hilary, I'm fairly certain that the reservation number is all you need. But you may as well ring MS just to check and then, if necessary, they will send you the duplicate.

The only thing you really don't need to do is panic! :)

I am sure the ressie number will be fine. When we checked into the Contemporary we just gave them our name and we were on the system. If you have made some unusual requests then perhaps having a written confirmation might help but apart from that it shouldn't be needed - so don't cancel the holiday just yet :sunny:

I did exactly the same with my recent trip. Couldn't find my reservation anywhere and I too am usually very organised. When we checked in to OKW they just asked my name and didn't even ask for the reservation number. So relax and look forward to your trip. :sunny:

Last trip we made; I was so organised & had printed everything.. all the info printed and in DH's laptop case. Half way to the airport: "dear, where's your laptop?" "um... still in the hallway!" - so we had nothing at all, and it wasn't a problem, and this was an exchange to DL California, so do'n't worry!

We weren't asked for our paperwork in December Hilary. However if you are like me ;) a quick call to MS to get the ressie number as a security blanket could not do any harm :teeth:

You don't need the confirmation as we made a last minute booking at SSR and the confirmation did not come in time (got back Saturday and found it in the post!).

I did have the confirmation number and had no problems. Had all my requests met. Non smoking, non handicaped and DTD view. Booked a week before we flew out.

SSR is great.

Phew, thanks for the reassurances :)

I think I will give MS a call tomorrow and see if they'd like to send a duplicate, but I won't worry if they don't.

MS are sending me a duplicate confirmation letter, but have assured me the confirmation number or member number or just name and address would be all that's required! :)

Useful to know. :)

BTW Hilary - where have your tags gone?

Hilary

We have just return from a 2 week stay, some at SSR, Vero Beach and WLV. We did not receive any confirmation for any of our stays (which I was quite concerned about), phoned MS to confirm our bookings and was told all we needed was photo ID on check-in, didn't even need ressie numbers.

I would just ring MS to confirm they have your booking after that just chill and turn-up.
