From our "I Can't Sleep" Department:

It's been reported on the Resorts Board that a large group of cheerleaders and their chaperones (not OUR cheerleaders, thank you...) will descend on the All Star resorts starting December 2, 2001. This group will comprise of 5 - ?? year-old cheerleaders who have been known to practice outside the resorts at 2:00 am. For those of you staying at the All Stars and are extending your stay from DIS-CON, I thought you might like to know. Apparently the same group spilled over to the Port Orleans resort as well.

A friend and I met up with a large group of cheerleaders last December at IOA, and for the most part, they were a well-behaved group. A group with way too much makeup on (IMHO), but that's just my conservative side coming out.

I have been there in January and February when the cheerleader teams and dance teams descned like locusts. If you think about the logistics, these are usually high school girls, 14-17 or 18, 4 to a room, plus chaperones and some family memebrs.

The food courts get VERY crowded on the morning and the evening after competitions.

Now, on the plus sign, they are VERY well mannered, on their best behavior, polite, excited, and very focused on their goal. (At least that has been our experience) They have all worked very hard to get to the competition there, and they are thrilled.

I have never seen or heard them at late hours. They usually have morning competitions and they have curfews. So I would not worry too much about it. But if you plan on using food courts, be warned, they do get crowded!
