Does anyone know how much taking a taxi from Boardwalk to Universal would cost? Can you catch a bus from the Disney Resorts to Universal?

Mears is a private bus service. Their phone number is 407-423-5566. They are very well known in the WDW area.

Does Mears offer trans. to Island of Adv. from the Disney resorts?????? How do you get info. I am thinking that a cab may be expensive.....

Islands of Adventure is right next store to Universal, so yes Mears will take you to Islands.

we drove our self, but everytime we went from WDW to US/IOA there was traffic on I4 so a taxi could end up costing you more. When we checked in there at ASMU one of the other customer service people was telling the people that the MEARs shuttle could take them to US/IOA.

THanks everybody for the information.... 12.00 per person seems pretty steep to me. there are 4 going there- that's 48.00 x3 days= 144.00! We are flying nto Orlando and my initial plan was to rent a car, but to do that I actually have to get a mini van,or something that will hold 6 adults! I called National- it was 447.00 for 8 days!! That's with no discount brecause they won't discount mini vans. I'm trying to find a cheap way around the problem, but it doesn't look like there is one!

Emmab,

Mears is both, though they only use the name Mears on their buses. Ibelieve that all the taxis on-site at Disney are owned by Mears, though the have a different name.

Public transportation may be an option. :)

I've seen in mentioned a few times about Orlando's public transportation system called Lynx.

http://www.golynx.com/forms/

I just used the above link, clicked on "Bus Trip Planner" and put in a request for information from the Swan hotel (1500 Epcot Resorts Blvd, Lake Buena Vista, Fl. 32830) to Universal's Hard Rock hotel (1000 Universal Studios Plaza, Orlando, Fl. 32819).

It will be interesting to see what information I get back from them.

This just may be a very inexpensive alternative for people to look into using.
