Morning firmies! How am I going tostart a firm thread and not do a firm workout :confused3
I didn't. I wanted to start June off with a blast. So I did Cathe's muscle endurance workout. You sure do need some endurance to finish it.
I'm going skating with my kids later and plan to add in at least another hour to my workout today.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day! :cheer2:

Hey everyone and Happy June! :flower:
I was in a Cathe mood today, too, Sheree'. I did Step Blast, and actually finished the whole Challenge--I usually poop out 2/3 of the way through! I agree that ME is such a tough workout--do those bicep curls go on forever, or what?! And those glute lifts at the end--I get stuck in that position because they kill so much and I find I can't move my legs afterward! :headache: I read on Cathe's site a few weeks ago that she's contemplating what to film next. I liked a few from the Hardcores--Low Max more than anything, but overall I just wasn't as thrilled as I was with the Intensities and Body Blasts. I pre-ordered them all except Extreme, and I honestly don't think I'd miss any except the upper body Gym Styles, Core Max and Low Max. I shoud probably Ebay or YaYa Swap them, but lots of Yas said they couldn't even give theirs away. I really hope that whatever Cathe comes up with next is really different and exciting.
I'm thinking I need a little Allie tomorrow ("toe box" :teeth: ) so I'm planning on her ABS.
Have a lovely first day of June! :grouphug:

Kim, I don't have any of the new series but low max. I have heard also that it's not as good, so maybe that's why I didn't order the whole set. The Taebo set was worth it. I was just thinking if I should add in any of her new series, but now maybe I'll just wait it out. And BTW those arm go on forever. She's like the enegizer bunny.........................! I have a good workout though, and that makes it all worth it!

Hi, I'm just wondering if you'd all mind someone new checking in here? I had a cousin that raved about The Firm before her wedding probably 15 years ago. I found and bought a tape about 6 years ago that I used to lose the remainder of my baby fat from DS#1, then found out I was expecting DS#2 :rotfl:
I've recently gotten back into the swing of things with the Body Sculpting System #3. I did the beginners workout (every other day) faithfully for 6 weeks. Within the last 2-1/2 weeks, I've moved up to the Intermediate workout (2 days on/1 day rest). Somehow I find having that scheduled "off" day seems to keep me motivated and focused.
Today is an "off" day for me, but I start back up tomorrow with Christa and Complete Body Sculpting.

I'm baaaack!! I had a great time visiting with dd in So. Cal. and with my friends at Lake Tahoe, but I am so glad to be back. I only got in 2 4-mile runs in the 9 days I was gone. My body really missed working out. Today I started back with C.A.W.T. with Emily. It felt good to sweat again! :)
One of my friends whom I hadn't seen since last August said I looked "svelte" and that I motivated her to start working out regularly again. Don't you just love getting compliments?
Welcome poohssmum!! It sounds like you've been Firming for a while now. Do you have a favorite tape? Favorite instructor? Hope you join in often.

Welcome Poohsmom. The firm is very addictive and fun. We are a supportive group around here and keep each other motivated. Alot of us like to mix up our Firm tapes and add in other routines but we are all devoted to the firm.
Today I did Jiggle free abs and the 8 minute Taebo routine.

Good Morning all! Thanks so much for the warm welcome  I'm starting to love it here already ... some of my friends are getting darn sick of listening to me rave about The Firm :rotfl2:
I started my morning off with Christa's Complete Body Sculpting from BSS3. Not being a morning person, I find it very hard to get up early in the morning and work out before I come in to work. I much prefer to get my workout in after work and before dinner. That wasn't in the cards for me today because DS#1 (he's 8) has a baseball game at 5:45 tonight ... and I work until 5:00.
Norma, I don't have a favorite tape or instructor right now ... I like the rotation of tapes with the BSS3. I don't get bored doing the same workout over and over. And the scheduled "off" days seem to keep me motivated.
I have a question about increasing weights ... when/how often do you increase weights and how much are you using? My biggest fear is bulking up when I'm trying to slim down  Today I used 9lb weights for bent rows and some of the leg work. As I was working my biceps, I felt that I could probably move up ... but I'm really fearful of the "bulk-factor".

Good morning FIRMies,
Well yuck, I took a rest from exercise & diet over the weekend and while I'm 100% back on the food part I can't seem to get my rythm back for exercising. I played volleyball on Sunday and my right foot was a bit sore, it didn't hurt I just felt that stupid tingle I get. I was able to walk at the park for lunch on Tuesday for 2.5 miles and I'm hoping to get to do that today. I just can't seem to get myself to get up early or work out after work. I know what I need to do........I just need to DO IT! I'm just dying to lift!! I just seem lazy right now!
Hi poohssmum- Welcome to the FIRM thread. I wouldn't worry about bulking up. Women really can't do that too much. At least its not a concern for most women. I love to heavy up as much as possible. I'm using 12-15lbs as my heavy weights. I do have a 20lb weight that I use for Lat rows and french presses. Some times I use this or my 15 for ribcage pullovers. My mediums are usually 10 (sometimes 12 & sometimes 8). Depends on the exercise and how I'm feeling. I use my 8, 5 & 3 for light again depends on the exercise.
Kim- I'm thinking about getting Core Max and I'm also considering Lower Body Pyramid because I like the end stability ball exercises. I keep waiting for Core Max to be on FIt TV so I can tape it and try it.
Norma- Welcome back. So Cal & Lake Tahoe sounds fun. I'm from Vegas so that makes me sort of homesick since I spent most of vacations as a kid in So. Cal.
Have a great happy healthy Thursday everyone.

poohssmum, don't worry about bulking up. I use 20lb weights on leg presses and 12 to 15 on bicep work. If anything the heavier weights have made me much more slender than I thought possible. And with beautiful muscles in all the right places!!!
I'm checking in to let everyone know that Lisa (zeraspride) said hello. She'll be back soon enough, she just needed a break and with her extra responsibilites at work, she's been very busy.
I'm going skating this afternoon for my exercise. I'm going to skate rings around my children :)!

Hi everyone!
I did Ultimate Calorie Blaster today. My muscles are sore from yesterday, so tomorrow will probably be a light day.
Poohssmum, I agree with the others - don't worry about bulking up. Increase the weight when it starts to feel too easy. If you happen to be one of the very, very few women who are genetically inclined to build large muscles, just reduce the weights. But that is extremely unlikely. I use 20 lb. for pec flies, chest presses, lat rows and french presses. 15 lb. for leg work - squats, lunges, leg presses, etc. 12 lb. for bicep curls. 10 for tricep kickbacks. 8 or 5 for most shoulder excercises. This is of course subject to change on any given day depending on my mood. ;)
Keep up the good work everyone!!

Morning firmies, well I ended up taking a rest day. As usual paranoid I won't get everything done for DD's party tomorrow so I made up the gift bag and cleaned the bathrooms. Just sort of puttering around so I don't feel so stressed. As things are stressful at the moment but I am med free and keeping busy and when I'm feeling blah and thinking I'm heading down "that" road again I check in with the Dis and only allow myself to wallow for a few minutes. See you tomorrow. Oh and I'll give you a full report on Cinderella showing up for DD's party. My baby is four. So I've been firming for about 5 years.

Morning everyone! I got Fat Blasting Cardio w/Stephanie in before work this morning. Tomorrow is a rest day for me, but I'll be in Boston w/DH and some friends for the weekend ... so there will be a fair amount of walking being done. DH will be running in a 5 mile benefit for the Angel Fund along the waterfront in Boston tomorrow morning. I give him a ton of credit ... I hate to run. I'm much more comfortable with my weights and my incline box and the girls on TV :rotfl:

Good Morning everyone, and a big I'M GLAD YOU'VE JOINED US to poohssmum! :wave2:
Yesterday turned out to be a rest day. Ds9 woke up with a horrible cough and fever so it was off to the Dr. for some antibiotics for bronchitis (and some really awesome cough medicine with codeine--he's still in bed sleeping it off!) :teeth: Then dh was sent home early from work with a cough and fever, so he ended up at the Dr. for the same thing. He works at a nuclear facility, and if you so much as sneeze, they make you go to the nurse to get checked out. He was only allowed back at work today with documentaton from our Dr. that he'd been seen and treated. I guess those safeguards are there for a reason! :scared: I'm already on antibiotics for something different and our Dr. told my husband I'm covered for this cough thing. Honestly, I'm the only healthy one in this place, and as a germophobe and clean freak all this coughing is driving me nuts! :headache: OK, vent over.
I'm going to try to get in Steph's UCB this morning. I was thinking of Cathe, since I did so terribly, both exercise-wise and food-wise over the Memorial Day weekend, but I just can't Cathe today (Sheree', I know you know what I mean)!
Hi norma! It's so good to have you back! It's sounds like you had a great time--how wonderful for you, your friends and your dd! :goodvibes
Hi Mel! Core Max is a pretty good workout, although I'd classify it as more intermediate/advanced than truly advanced. I don't have a med ball, so I haven't done that section, but the stab. ball and traditional sections really helped tighten me up--especially the obliques! PLB is a great workout, and it's companion PUB is probbably my fave UB w/o. I blew off a lot of stab. ball work before I gave those vids a try--wow, what a difference that ball can make! I love it for ab work, too! I'm glad your foot is feeling so much better! :)
Oh, Tracy, how is my girl?!!! I see you were "gettin' down with the Fanny Lifter!" :teeth: I love CAWT--it's an awesome total body workout! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, woman!
Oh, darling s&k'smom! Your little one is four years old! :goodvibes I hope she has an absolutely magical birthday and that Cinderella makes all her dreams come true! princess:
Hi poohssmum! I grew up in NE PA and road-tripped to Boston so many times--what an awesome city (except when they play my beloved NY Yankees!) :teeth: Congratulations on all your hard work and much luck to your dh! I am the world's worst runner! Have a great time in Boston! :Pinkbounc
Hi Sheree'! Oh, I am so envious that you can rollerblade! I end up flat on my SpongeBob Squarebutt all the time! It is such good exercise, though, and I continue to be amazed at how strong you are. I think *you* need to make an exercise video! :teeth:
I'm off to bounce with Stephanie (awwww, let's face it, I come no where near to bouncing like she!) :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hi guys,
I am a newbie to The Firm and to this board (but not the rest of DIS). I just got my new Transfirmer two days ago and did the Supercharged Sculpting Video. I could only do about 25 min of it - is that normal for a beginner with The Firm? Now I have been doing exercise with WW and Densie Austin videos and walking so I am not completely new to exercising, but this really took it out of me. I did rest yesterday and will be exercising again today - I have the most time to exercise at night - I know it is better in the morning, but I have to work with the time I have.
When you guys started did you follow one of the workout schedules or make up your own. I dont want to overdo it at first? Any tips for the newbie???
I have the following FIRM videos - Supercharged Sculpting, Aerobic Body Shaping, Ultimate Calorie Blaster, Jiggle Free Abs and Complete Aerobics & Weight training. The schedule with my package only showing working out every other day for at least a month, but I am used to working out in some way every day. Not sure what to do???

Hi Kristin!
I just responded to your other thread before I saw your message here.
When I first started Firming, I alternated Firm days with running days. But I liked the Firm workouts so much, I now try to Firm 4 - 5 days a week and only run once a week.
Listen to your body. If you're used to exercising nearly every day, you should be able to do Firm videos on back to back days. BUT, you shouldn't do Aerobic Body Shaping, Supercharged Sculpting, or Complete Aerobics and Weight Training on consecutive days. These videos are sculpt or cardio + sculpt workouts where you are using moderate/heavy weights to build muscle. Your muscles generally need 48 hours to rebuild the tiny muscle tears that occur when you lift weights. You don't want to work them too hard during this rebuilding phase. So do a cardio or core (ab) workout on alternate days, or you can do a cardo + sculpt workout with light or no weights (depending on your fitness level).
I could go on forever about the Firm, but this is getting too long. If you have any more questions, just ask.

Welcome Kristin!!! Norma gave you great advice. I made my own rotatin schedule and really worked myself out. Crazy, I know but I was friming 6 days a week when I started and I started off using 5 and 10 pounds weights for everything!I was pooped but just kept pushing and pushing myself. Trust me, there was a whole lot of huffing and puffing going on. I listed to my body and slowed down or lowered the weights or used none during the very beginning as it was really hard. But after a couple of weeks, I was able to complete with my weights. Your body will let you knw what to do, trust me!
Keep going back, we'd love to have ya!

Hi all,
I am also new to this board but not the DIS. I have begun Firming for
3 weeks now. I have the BSS2 set and BSS ( old stuff, I know). What will
I see in " 10 Workouts or less". I am using 4s, 6s, 10s, depending.
Also, my knees hurt! Any suggestions?? I always check to make sure
the knee is over the ankle, like they suggest. Will it get better??
I am a full-time working mom with DH, Ds9 and Dd7. I am trying to
get the workouts in the evening, but what a challenge.
I love the support you guys show each other...how refreshing!!!!
Have a great day!!!!!! Cindy

Thanks guys,
I really appreciate your support and suggestions. I did the Ultimate Calorie Blaster yesterday and it was hard. I have a real hard time keeping up with the footwork on the box. I also have a hard time lifting my big rear-end up onto the fully assembled box. I have been trying to follow the beginner workout person, but they dont always keep the camera on her and I get lost in the footwork the main person is doing. I keep finding myself standing on top of the box and just watching!! I hope this gets easier!!! I am not going to give up - my Dh thinks it is hilarious to watch me :rotfl2: - as I was having no problems with the other workouts I was doing, but the FIRM is kicking my butt!!!! I think I will try the Jiggle Free Abs today and see how I do!!
Thanks again guys!!!! :grouphug:

Good morning everyone and a special WELCOME WELCOME to Cindy! :wave2:
I did Allie's ABS & JFA this morning!
Cindy, I'll give you a quick rundown of how I began with The FIRM. I lost 110 pounds using portion control and exercise. When I started, I weighed 235 pounds and the only exercise I could do were WATP tapes--even the one mile was very tough for me, as I had no fitness level at all. I worked out 3x a week and slowly worked my way up to the 4 mile WATP. I then tried BSS1 and was soooooo discouraged in the beginning, as I couldn't even "follow Libby." :) When they did their leg presses, I could only lift my body weight on the step twice without having to stop. I remember crying and wanting to give up so badly, but I decided just to modify for what I could do, and not beat myself up over it. I had to do most of the FL step work on the floor, used mostly no weights and did the leg press on the 8' FL section. With consistent working out (even though I wasn't even doing as much as the tape's beginner) and a healthy diet, the pounds were coming off and my fitness level increased enormously. It took me 15 months, but with eating well and FIRMing 5-6x a week, I lost the 110. I now work out 5-6x a week with Cathe Friedrich for my more highly intense days and The FIRM for my moderate days. I also do FIRM workouts when I just want to have fun--they're what got me to where I am now, and I still find them more enjoyable than most anything else out there. Believe me, when I was cursing and crying over what I *couldn't* do in BSS1, I never thought I'd be saying I now FIRM on my easier days. But that's what consistent exercising with them did for me. :) My best advice for you would be to not hold yourself up to anyone else--especially the instructors--even the beginner. Work at your own fitness level, as it's the only way to improve it. Listen to your body--it will tell you when it's time to up the intensity with greater weights or more high impact movement. It will also tell you when you've been working out too hard and need a rest. Listen to what your body's teling you and you won't go wrong! I guarantee that if you work out consistently, you'll see and *feel* wonderful results with The FIRM, and checking in with us here will really help your motivation. I love to hear how everyone's doing, what they think of a new instructor or tape, or celebrate when someone's reached a personal goal! Please join us as often as you can! :) :) :)
Luvthatdisney, don't worry about not being able to grasp the footwork right away--I think we've all been there! Do what you can and march in place if you need to get your bearings. As long as you keep your heartrate up, it doesn't matter what you look like doing it! :teeth: You'll get the steps down as you learn the names of all the moves and with more practice. Stephanie cues very well, too, so that's always a plus. You going to do just great!!! My dh had been known to laugh when I'd be learning a new workout until I bet him $20 that he couldn't make it through the first two rounds of my Cathe Friedrich BootCamp dvd. Well, he didn't make it past the warm up and I haven't heard a peep from him since! :teeth: You're doing great, girl, and you'll be getting stronger and more fit every single time you move & groove! :cool1:
Have a lovely weekend, everyone! :grouphug:

Hey Firmies!
No workout for me today. Ds started summer basketball and has 4 games today. Talk about getting a workout. Whew!
Welcome Cindy! We're always glad to have new people. As for your question about your knees, it could be that the tendons and ligaments supporting your knees haven't strengthened sufficiently yet. If you're doing leg presses with weights, you might try reducing or eliminating the weights until the tendons and ligaments are stronger. OR some people are just not able to do leg presses on the 14" step without knee problems; you just might be one of them. If you've been Firming regularly for 3 weeks, you should start feeling stronger and have more cardio endurance. Keep up the good work!!
Kristin, don't worry about how you look. When I'm learning new steps or a new video, I am the world's biggest klutz. I just laugh at myself because I know I look like a dork, but eventually I get it. The important thing is to just keep moving your body. Everytime you do a video it will be a little easier.
Have a great weekend everyone!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hey FIRMies! Welcome Cindy and luvthatdisney! :wave2:
My exercise goals for June are to FIRM 3x's a week and do some heavy weightlifting 2x's a week. I'm giving this workout schedule a trial run for June to see if I can get that darn scale to cooperate! :badpc: (insert scale here ;) )
Well, since June started on Wednesday, I have done the following:
FIRM: CAWT (Wed.); Super Cardio Sculpt (Thurs.); and Cardio Sculpt Blaster (Fri.)
Weights: Lower Body (Fri.); Upper Body (Sat.)
So, that means that I have made my 1st week's goal!!! :Pinkbounc Woohoo! I'll be really happy if the scale reflects the extra workouts tomorrow. :goodvibes
I really like adding in the heavy lifting days. I have been doing it for a few weeks now and I love how "tight" my body feels after a heavy workout like that.

Morning everyone. Sorry I didn't get a chance to post this weekend. We got home yesterday, but I was pooped from being away. Saturday we did a lot of walking around Boston, but it was a rest day for me ... so I count that walking as a bonus :teeth:
I did get the chance to do Total Muscle Shaping yesterday afternoon. Today I will play 9 holes of golf after work in our league, and then I'm hoping to get in 30 minutes of Cardio.
Happy Monday Ladies! :cheer2:

Hey Kim if someone wanted to add a few Cathe dvd's to their rotation what ones are good to start out with.
Mornin' Girl! :wave2:
A great Cathe you can do with the Fanny Lifter and dumbbells is Boot Camp! It alternates one minute each of intense cardio bursts, upper body work, lower body work and core work. It's a sweatfest that really is a lot of fun! That dvd also has Muscle Endurance, a killer weights-only endurance workout.
One of my faves right now is Low Max. Yo can use your 6" or 8" TransFIRMer if you don't have a Club Step. It's 7 intervals of low impact step work, followed by interval blasts that will really work our lower body. This one has really defined my legs!
Cardio & Weights is a really fun workout tht alternates a step routine with compound/mod./heavy upper body weights. You can again use your TransFIRMer for a club step. The other w/o on this dvd is IMAX2, which is probably the most killer cardio w/o I have. It's a short step routine followed by cardio intervals that take you anaerobic. It's a lot of fun, but very, very tough, and I guarantee it'll improve your aerobic capacity. All of these workouts are choreographically more complicated than FIRMs (except Boot Camp and Muscle Endurance), and use a quicker Beats Per Minute, so it can be tricky and frustrating getting the footwork down at first. I think Boot Camp's great to start with because it's more callisthentic-oriented cardio bursts. If you get a chance, check out www.cathe.com . She has previews of all her workouts under 'video clips' (except for some of the new Hardcore Series), and you can take a look to see what interests you. She really is tough, but I've seen so much improvement in my cardio capacity and strength since using her on a regular basis. I'm hoping Sheree' will chime in here with her faves, too!
Hope this helped! :flower:

This is probably going to be a long post, but I thought some of us with the transfirmer could use this information.
Here are the Basics for any workout that uses the Fanny Lifter
This one's easy enough… you can use the same piece of the TransFIRMer that you use of the Fanny Lifter for body sculpting exercises. For example, if you use just the bottom blue section of the Fanny Lifter for lunges, then use the bottom blue section of the TransFIRMer.
For step work, the same general rule applies. However, if the step moves have you moving side to side, you may want to turn the section of the TransFIRMer vertically so the width is the same.
For any exercise we use the incline for in Body Sculpting Systems 3 or 4, try doing the same exercises inclined in Body Sculpting Systems 1 and 2. For example, you can do the lunges inclined, move the chest work from the floor to the incline, or try some of the step segments inclined instead of flat!
Here are the Basics for any workout that uses The FIRM Box
Since The FIRM Box is 6" when flat, you can use the top green section of the TransFIRMer for any exercises or choreography that use The FIRM Box flat.
However, with the TransFIRMer, you now have more options. If you're looking for a challenge during step, you can try the bottom blue portion instead.
You may use the incline of the TransFIRMer the same way you use the incline of The FIRM Box.
Cardio Sculpt
Tune 1: Do the warm-up the same way.
Tune 2: Use the TransFIRMer for the push-ups, hover squats, lat row and leg press the same way you would use the Fanny Lifter, except now you have more room!
Tune 3: Do the cardio section the same way.
Tune 4: Once again, use the TransFIRMer the same way you did the Fanny Lifter for the French press, hover squats and bent row. However, for the lunges with biceps curls and overhead press, incline the TransFIRMer! For the plié, straddle the incline.
Tune 5: Try doing the step routine on an incline for variety! Remember to step higher for a bigger challenge.
Tune 6: Use the TransFIRMer the same way you used the Fanny Lifter.
Tune 7: Use the Incline TransFIRMer for the step routine.
Tune 8: For the biceps and oblique exercises, turn the TransFIRMer vertically, so you have room to move side to side. For the pec flyes, instead of lying on the floor, lie on the incline.
Tune 9: For the posterior delt flyes, stand and place one foot on the incline; bend forward from the hips so the back is almost parallel to the ceiling, keeping it flat with the shoulders pulled back. Then, for the table work, kneel on the floor on the other side of the TransFIRMer, away from the incline. Place your hands on the blue section of the TransFIRMer to support your torso (the way it is done in the "Bonus" Hips and Thighs workout on Aerobic Body Shaping). Lastly, for the lying side abduction, lie on the incline.
Tune 10: Finish the table and lying side abduction on the left leg the same way you did the right.
Tunes 11 and 12: Complete the workout on the floor
Body Sculpt
Tune 1: Complete the warm-up the same way.
Tune 2: Complete the hover squats using the TransFIRMer the same way you would the Fanny Lifter. For the lunge/ dip combination, use the incline rather than the top/ green section of the TransFIRMer. When you get to the plié, straddle the incline.
Tune 3: For the leg press, hover squats and the squat-abduction-tap series, use the TransFIRMer as you would the Fanny Lifter. For the side lunges, try using the inclined TransFIRMer.
Tune 4: Use the top/ green section of the TransFIRMer. Place it vertically and use it the same way the top/ purple section of the Fanny Lifter is used. Rotate the palms in or out for the push-ups, the same way you would using the Fanny Lifter.
Tunes 5 and 6: Use the TransFIRMer the same way the Fanny Lifter is used.
Tune 7: Turn the TransFIRMer vertically for the seated stretches.
Ab Sculpt
This is an easy one… turn the TransFIRMer vertically and use it the same way you would the Fanny Lifter!

Good morning Firmies! :sunny:
This morning I was feeling very energetic, so I did Jiggle Free Arms, Jiggle Free Buns, and the 8-min. ab add on from UCB. I'm leaving for Las Vegas in 2 weeks and I'm going to try to lose a couple of pounds before I leave so I'll have a little wiggle room on vacation. My goals are to increase my water intake (I've been slacking on that) and to clean up my eating (no more peanut M&M's).
Have a terrific Monday!

Kim, no I've never been to Disneyland. This is our first trip. We are way to excited :cool1: I have the kids bags already packed. I'm working on mine and DH plus taking some food with us. We are driving from Texas!! I wanted to have my own car when we went. We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel for 7 nights, we have 5 day hoppers. We are going to Legoland, Magic Mountain (the kids have free tickets from reading during the school year and we could use these ticked at any Six Flags park), Huntington beach and the shopping district. Sounds like a lot for 8 days huh. DH decided to leave early and now we have 2 nights at the Hilton Lanai view of Disney park where they say you can see the fireworks every night. AAA had a wonderful rate. If you decide to go, book through AAA, they have wondreful perks. One of them for us is unlimited fast pass. We can carry as many fastpasses as we want at one time! :cheer2:
S&K's mom, you could also do her beginner workouts if you are not to coordinated. That's where I started as her foot work is really fancy and I have the hardest time keeping up! They are high step circuit and basic step + body fusion. I just upped my weights with both of these workouts and :earseek: Especially body fusion. Love the step workout in this one. After I mastered it, then I went on to Boot Camp. Love Boot Camp. Lots of jumping though. Cathe very seldom know the words "low impact" She's flying all over the place.
Today was total muscle shaping for me. I have done this in several months :earseek: But I remembered early on, what a tough workout it was. Especially when you got a pair of 20's on ya. I was drenched and plain pooped afterwards. Emily is running the new firm rotation, and I decided to try a couple of days of it. Looks really good!
Have a wonderful day everyone :grouphug:

Hey ladies. We are always complaining about bloating. I found some tips on the firm website. I have always told my husband that for some reason eating eggs on a regualr basis keeps me slim and I didn't know why. Now I do! I think I'm gonna eat more eggs for breakfast!
"Ugh, I feel so bloated." We've all said that at some point in our lives, and we've probably had friends complain to us about their bloat. So, what's it all about? Why do we get bloated, and is there anything that we can do to combat those puffy eyes and swollen fingers? The answer is a definite yes! There is a lot that you can do with your diet to combat bloating and to help you feel lean and svelte. This article comes out at a good time of year, since the summer's heat and humidity tends to make bloating even worse!
Major causes of bloat
Dehydration
You might think that being dehydrated would cause you to be thinner and less bloated, the thought being that less water in your body would cause you to be less bloated. But it actually works in the opposite manner. When your body does not have enough fluids coming in, it will conserve every bit of water that it can. Your kidneys will stop producing urine as to hold onto your water, which will in turn cause you to bloat. The best way to combat dehydration-based bloating is to drink tons and tons of water. If you wake up in the morning feeling heavy (i.e. your rings feel tight, eyes are puffy, and shoes are smaller than usual), start drinking water! Guzzle room temperature water (as it goes down easier than iced water) by the glassful. Continue to drink water until your urine is just about clear, and you have the urge to pee about 2x per hour. By this time, your rings will likely feel looser and you'll be a lot more comfortable.
Sugar
There are many things that I dislike about sugar, but one of the biggest detractors is that sugar will cause you to retain water. Sugar is made up of refined simple carbohydrates, and your body stores one gram of water for every gram of carbohydrate that you ingest. So think of it this way - if your bag of candy has 50 grams of carbs, you will store 50 grams of water - no way around it. You might notice that if you go on a sugar bender, you will wake up the next day feeling heavy, bloated and maybe even "hung over." So to look your best, avoid sugar and refined carbs as much as possible.
Salt
This probably comes as no surprise, but salt causes the body to hold onto water. In order to dilute the salt that you have ingested, your body will conserve water. This water and salt combination is deadly. Any of us who enjoy Chinese or Japanese food has probably experienced this. So my advice is to watch your salt intake and opt for low sodium products whenever possible. If you want to look good the next day, I would avoid saucy Asian food. When you do choose to indulge in a salty soup, or some salted chips, be sure to pair it with a large glass of water.
Alcohol
While there is nothing wrong with a single glass of wine or a light beer, over-imbibing will cause you to be downright bloated the next day. It has been said that alcohol will cause the most bloating in your face, and that Hollywood actors make a strict rule to banish cocktail consumption while on the set. The cause for the bloating is numerous, but the major culprit is that alcohol will dehydrate your body. So… if you want to have a few extra cocktails, and still look human the next day, be sure to amp up your water before hitting the sack.
Hormones
This unfortunate cause of bloating is the one that we have the least amount of control over. Sadly, once a month, you can count on a few days of bloating that cannot be prevented. The good news is that you can plan on it, and can try to fight it by avoiding all of the aforementioned factors (i.e. with PMS, be sure to avoid sugar, salt, and alcohol - and drink more water than humanly possible).
Piecing together the anti-bloat diet
So now that you understand what makes us bloat, let's talk about what we can eat without risking puffy eyes and swollen feet. At The FIRM we are always talking about "clean eating," which is a style of eating that incorporates lean protein, fruits and vegetables, low fat dairy, whole grains and lots of water. When you follow a clean diet, you will find that it is also a good anti-bloating diet.
Beyond eating a clean diet, there are some "super foods" that are thought to contain anti-inflammatory substances. Without getting into too much detail, some of the foods that are considered anti-inflammatory, and will further decrease bloating include:
Multi colored berries and melon
Salmon and other fish high in omega 3 fatty acids
Oatmeal
Eggs
Broccoli
Olive oil
Avocado
Almonds
Now that we know what to eat and what not to eat, let's make an anti-bloating meal plan!
Breakfast
½ cup cooked oatmeal, (preferably not instant) A small cup of lowfat yogurt topped with strawberries and blueberries 16 ounces of water
Lunch
A large green salad topped with chickpeas, avocado, low-fat cheese, sliced tomatoes and roasted red peppers, dressed with olive oil and vinegar and served with melba toast 16 ounces of water
Snack
10 almonds A large wedge of cantaloupe 16 ounces of water
Dinner
Broiled salmon filet topped with fresh lemon, served with broccoli sautéed in olive oil Side salad with romaine lettuce, sliced tomatoes and slivered almonds, dressed with olive oil and vinegar 16 ounces of water

Good afternoon FIRMies, and wow, do I have the most *wonderful* news! Little Bailey, my ds's friend who was in a coma after a car accident, and to whom you all have sent so many good thoughts and prayers, came out of her coma last night! She is still listed in critical condition, but she is stable and has also been taken off her respirator and is breathing on her own! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes I cannot thank you enough for taking this sweet little girl and her family into your hearts--I know that all your prayers and good wishes have given such strength and comfort to her and her loved ones. Our house is such a happy one right now! :cloud9: Thank you all, again, so very, very much.
I did Cathe's IMAX2 today. I have no idea why, as I just did it a few days ago and it really wipes me out. I've been in Cathe Mode lately, and I think some fun FIRMing is due for tomorrow. But Sheree', ever since you talked about doing ME last week, I've been thinking of that workout, too. It's been such a long time since I've done it, and I could use some good, killer weight work. I'll see how the ol' bones feel tomorrow, and take it from there. :)
I hope everyone's day is filled with as much joy as we're feeling here right now. What a wonderful, wonderful day it's been. Love you guys. :grouphug:

I'm sorry I haven't been around: we're having a garage sale this weekend and I have been busy with that. Here is the week's schedule:
Monday: MCB+Abs
Tuesday: Cardio Sculpt Blaster w/ 5 pound weights; Day 4 of FIRM 5 day abs (This is the toughest day of the 5! )
Wednesday: Heavy Lifting Day
Thursday: Rest, but Garage Sale setup
Friday: Heavy Lifting Day 2
Saturday: Calorie Killer
Sunday: :faint:
Kimmers~ I am so happy to hear about Bailey!!! :Pinkbounc Continued prayers for her and her family are on the way! :grouphug:
Sheree`~ I think you asked what I am doing on my heavy lifting days. Well, my DH and I came up with an upper body, a lower body, and a combined workout just using free weights. Basically, I do 3 sets of 10-12 of a particular exercise (i.e. bicep curls) with the 15 pound weights. Once I complete the full circuit of the workout (entire upper body, entire lower body, or the combined workout; these are 3 separate workouts), I pyramid down to 10 pounders and do the whole circuit again. Does that make sense? I'm not sure I explained it all that well. Eventually, I may add in FIRM sculpting videos or Cathe on some days instead of using the free weights, but for the month of June, I am just going to do the free weight workouts. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Have a great day everyone! I'm off to watch The Fan's Guide to WDW on the Travel Channel and pump up my muscles! :teeth:

Morning Ladies. First of all, before I talk about my workouts I need to tell Kim that I'm so happy to hear some good news about Bailey. I'll be anxiously awaiting more updates to tell us more and more good news.
Let's see ... Monday I said I was going to get in a cardio workout after golf, but I didn't. I just walked 9 holes of golf on Monday. Yesterday should have been a rest day, but since I didn't do anything other than golf on Monday, I did Complete Body Sculpting with Stephanie last night. I also increased my weights for the workout in most sections. I had been using 5 and 7lbs, but I went up to 7 and 9lbs, and I can actually move all of my limbs without crying today :rotfl:
I'm waiting for a new DVD to arrive (Hips, Thighs and Abs) if that finally arrives, I'll do that tonight. If not it'll be Fat Blasting Cardio tonight after work. Have a GREAT day everyone.

Hi everyobody and thank you so much for all your continued good thoughts about Bailey! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes We are still on Cloud 9 around here! Doesn't it feel good to hear *good news* about a child in need for a change? I know it will be a while before she's allowed visitors, but I just can't wait to put my arms around that little girl and hug the stuffings out of her!   Thanks everyone! :grouphug:
I did Steph's UCB this morning--I had the Cathe dread factor going and just couldn't face her. :headache:
Melanie, I'm sorry you're in a workout funk. I've been there a few times, myself, and I know it can get you down--especially someone who works as hard as you do. I went through this after doing nearly a year of straight Cathe. I just couldn't take it anymore and had classic burn-out symptoms. I felt indifferent about working out and just so blah... Doing some of my older, fun FIRMs helped break me out of it, and I slowly got back into the habit again. I hope you find something that makes you feel happy about working out real soon!
Hi Sheree', and thanks so much for that list of food tips! I would have no weight or food-related issues if I'd just eat better. I don't necessarily eat a lot of calories, but some days those calories come from all junk. TOM is due tomorrow, too, and all I want to do today is eat salt and chocolate! :rolleyes2
Hi Cindy! Woo hoo! You're gettin' down with the Fanny Lifter! Yeah, baby! I really love the TransFIRMer series! It has become my fave FIRM set to date. The box is very sturdy and the w/o's are fun! They can be modified up or down in intensity and when I add in some higher impact moves and heavy-up on the weights, I really sweat! I wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend it to you--I think if you like The FIRM in general, you'll LOVE this one!
Hi darling s&k'smom! Aaaaaaaaack! Back wax! :scared: I forget in which one of the classic FIRMs this happens, but one backround exerciser has armpit hair one minute and then the next shot it's gone! There's also a tampon string mishap, but I won't go there. :crazy2: :teeth:
Hi Tracy-Trace! Any news about Alicia? I so dearly hope that she is able to recover fully. I'm keeping her in my prayers that she heals both physically and emotionally. On a happier note, you are doing just an awesome job with your workouts--they sound so very, very tough! You keep it up, Hunny Bunny--YOU RULE! :cool1:
Hi poohssmum! Way to go on increasing your weights--that's terrific, and it's showing how much stronger and self-confident you're getting! :cheer2: Are you a big golfer? My dh loves to golf, and we live only 10-15 minutes from The Augusta National, where The Masters is held. I've tried to golf, but I get irritated with my inepptitude and end up just throwing the ball at the hole and getting dh mad! :teeth:

I so no what you mean about workout funk. that's why I think it's important to add in different videos to compliment the firm ones. It's very easy to get bored and I think to mix it up keeps it fresh and actually will help in the end. For me it was taebo but with the good weather here it's easy to get in walking or biking. Hey guys,
I tried Pam's Supercharged Sculpting for the 2nd time - and made it to the end!!! I do have to note that I have alot of trouble lying on my back on the floor and doing any kind of exercise. I do get down there and try it, but I can usually only do a few reps of the exercise. My back has always been weak :confused3 .
I did notice that the footwork done on the box in this video is slower than the other videos I have and I can actually keep up with them, but I still have a hard time dragging my rear-end up on the the fully assembled box. I have started just using the 1 large box. I guess I will move up to the full box when I get more advanced. The instructors make it look so effortless!!

Good early morning everyone! :sunny:
As my insomnia seems to be rearing it's ugly head lately, it's only 6:15 am and I've already completed Cathe's Muscle Endurance. I feel like s&k'smom up at the crack of dawn (although I do not possess the charming wit and sparkling personality as does she!) :goodvibes
Kristin, a {{{solidarity hug}}} to you from someone who had to do the majority of the FIRM step sections on the floor and the leg presses on the 8" when she first started out. If you are consistent, I promise you, you will see marked improvement! Honestly, in the beginning, I could only lift my body twice on the FL, while the instructors were doing 12-16 reps. Now I can leg press with a 50 lb. barbell (although I don't anymore 'cause it made my quads huge)! Don't let the abilities of the instructors intimidate you, either. Firstly, fitness is a huge part of their lives and has been for a long time for many of them. Secondly, they aren't using 3, 5 and 8 pounders in real life. The majority of these women are heavying up, which makes it look so easy when they're using the lighter weights for the dvds. Lastly, those workouts are filmed in sections and then edited together. They have breaks to towel off, get a drink and have makeup reapplied. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't have my own makeup artist sitting on my couch ready to touch up my lipstick if (when!) I get a little sweaty! In fact, I pretty much look like death warmed over when I'm working out! :crazy2: Don't compare yourself to anyone else! Do what you can at your own pace and level, and you *will* gain strength, endurance and cardio capacity. And we're always here for you when you have questions or frustrations, and we'll cheer right along with you when you celebrate your accomplishments! Don't allow your own abilities to be defined by others, Kristin. We're so glad to have *you* working out with us!
I hope you all enjoy a wonderful Thursday! :grouphug:

Kristen keep up the good work, it does get better. It's all a learning process and our bodies need to learn these routines. It's gotten hot here believe it or not so lots of outdoor activities.

Thanks so much guys!! :grouphug: It is really encouraging to hear all of the "pep talk" you have provided me and the other newbies on this thread! I am going to deffinately keep going - and even after a week and half on the FIRM I can already tell a difference in my clothes.
I have until August for our WDW trip and until September for my 20th high school reunion. I have already lost some weight (44 lbs) since February - you guys have inspired me to continue on my weight loss journey!!! :cheer2:
I took yesterday as a "rest" day and will resume my FIRM workouts later today - I am not a morning exerciser!! Not sure why??

You know, I've never seen any of the Star Wars movies until this last one, but I'll tell you, my idea of Nirvana would be watching that unbelievably hot young buck who played the young Darth Vader while sitting and eating chocolate. Morning firmies, today was the other half of the cross trainer with a younger Pam who was'nt as skinny as she appears now. Allie was so young. This is a really good muscle sculpting tape.

HI FIRMies!
I did Stephanie's UCB this morning and kept it mostly low impact--I was extra tired and just couldn't get this ol' bod into gear! Even though I kept the intensity down, I still was sweating and felt really good at the end. I've worked out seven days in a row, so tomorrow's probably going to be a light day, with Sunday off.
Today's a pool day with ds and then his baseball game tonight. There's one umpire who's just the cutest young thing, so keep your fingers crossed that he's who we get tonight! :hyper:

Hi FIRMies!!! :wave2:
I am exhausted, but I am glad I worked out today. I made my goal for the second week in a row: 3 FIRM workouts and 2 Weight workouts. :Pinkbounc I do have to confess though... my 3rd FIRM workout was only day 5 of FIRM 5 Day Abs which is about 5 minutes in length. See, the past two days, I have taken all of my garage sale stuff out of my garage to put in my yard (I guess that makes it a yard sale. ;) ) and then put what was left back in the garage. That counts as exercise right? We had a ton of stuff and unfortunately, we only sold $50 worth. :sad2: Plus, I got a nasty sunburn on my neck and shoulders. It's the first time I have worn a tank top in public in awhile and what happens? :confused3 I get a nice sunburn. :sunny: Oh well.... I'm $50 closer to WDW. :teeth:

Well all my resolve to eat healthy is slowly leaving me. Now the kids have an ice cream social tomorrow! I think it's harder to behave in the summer than winter as all that iced coffee and cold desserts. TG I'm firming every morning.
Hey I wanted to ask you guys, how to you get a flatter tummy. No matter what I seem to do it's never better. It's has a mind of it's own.

s&k'smom, I'm not sure about the tummy thing. My stomach is flatter, but with al lthe horrible stretch marks and lose skin, it sometimes doesn't appear to be. My waist measures a 27 1/2. I do lots of ab work here lately. I was reading that some of the stars sometimes do between 500 and 1000 ab crunches a day on top of other ab work and their exercise routine. Must work. Keep trying though. I have also heard that the more weight you lose, the more it will go around your middle.

Today was a rest day for me. This morning DH and I went to a local farmer's market and bought some strawberries, freshly picked this morning. YUMMY!! I love Oregon strawberries; this is what a strawberry should taste like. Unfortunately no one else in the country ever gets to taste them. They have a higher sugar content and therefore only have a shelf life of 48 to 72 hours. We can't even buy them in the supermarkets here. Most of the state's crop is sold to processors for jams and jellies. They are sooooo gooooood!! But strawberry season only lasts 3 to 4 weeks each year, so I'll be eating lots of strawberries in the next couple of weeks.
s&k's mom, I'm convinced that a flat tummy is partly genetic. I try to do lots of ab work and my tummy is flatter than it's been in a long, long time, but I think it will never be completely flat because of age, childbirth, and genetics. I am so envious of women with flat abs. I think my lower abs will always be a little round. My tummy and inner thighs seem to be the last places where I still can't seem to get rid of the fat.

poohsmum, did you like Hips, Thighs, and Abs? I have the DVD but I've never opened it. It came with the BSS3 set of DVD's I bought from someone. But I don't really like doing exclusively lower body workouts. Is it worth keeping?

06-13-2005, 02:36 PM
Norma, I did like Hips, Thighs and Abs. Today was the first day that I tried it too. I thought it was a great before-work workout for me. I sometimes find, not being a morning person, that I don't get as much out of an early morning workout as I would if I did the same workout when I get home from the office. :confused3 I had also been thinking lately that I wasn't seeing the results as much in my inner and outer thighs as I'd like ... I think this DVD will cure that problem :rotfl:
I'd say give it a try and see what you think. If you hate it, you might find a friend looking for a good lower body workout that you could pass it along too ... thus creating another Firm-junky :teeth:

OK this is what I'm planning. Has anybody ever done a cleansing type diet. I really need to jump start my metabolism and thinking of doing something like that. Just completed Body Sculpt with Jen. Changed my plan. Ever catch yourself comparing the lengths of the tapes just to pick the shortest in order to get the workout complete before doing laundry??? :rotfl: :rotfl2:
Today was the 1st time I worked out two days in a row. It has been about one month of firming and I can tell I am getting stronger. Can also see the beginnings of some triceps and quads. Of course, my arms and legs are pretty thin...I carry all the excess from chest to hips (kinda like an apple with toothpicks for limbs). Now if I can just improve my eating habits...I will be able to turn 40 later this year in the best shape of my life!!!!

Hi everyone,
I did the upper body portion of Super Body Sculpt. I started the lower body but my right foot started hurting. An MRI is now in the works, so hopefully I'll find out once and for all if I really had a stress fracture. Luckily my left foot has not bothered me since I hurt it in April. I'm hoping that the right one isn't fractured and the pain is just some kind of ligament, muscle type pain. Not sure what it would be, but as long as it wasn't broken I wouldn't have to be so concerened about damaging it further.
Maybe it just needs me to stop babying it, lol. All I know is that it bothers me when I sleep at night. If I lay on that foot I feel it, if I roll over and the covers touch it I feel it. Its just a strange feeling and I don't know what to make of it. I can't wait till they call me so I can make my appointment.
Anyway, I think that is why I've been in such a funk for the past two and a half weeks. That has been since I hurt it playing volleyball over Memorial Day weekend and I think I'm back to how I felt when I first hurt it. I'm just afraid of damaging it more. I'm also worried since we go to Disney for two weeks next month. That is a lot of walking, I really fear walking a long distance and getting the pain back like I felt when I finished the race in April. I don't ever want to have to feel pain like that when I walk again. It was really painful and it was both feet.

Hi all! Today ended up being an unplanned rest day. Between DS's 2 basketball games, taking DH to the airport for his business trip to Amsterdam, and packing for my trip to Las Vegas, I just don't have time to exercise. I don't feel bad though because I just completed 7 days in a row.
Nightbird, my advice is to start slow. You may not be able to keep up with the instructor at the first, but don't get discouraged; it will get easier. Add weights slowly so you don't burn out. Pay close attention to form; you don't want to injure yourself. And most of all, have fun!!

Norma your going to Vegas, yeah baby. I have one word for you ELVIS.
Hey nightbird, I second what Norma said. Learn the moves then add the weights. I think we all generally agree that we love the firm but the best way to lose the weight is take it slow.

Thanks folks.
I am excited about getting started. I have weights (5 lbs) so I will add them when I can keep it all together. From the posts on this thread, the variation of exercise formats is pretty good with this system.
Thanks for the advice.

Good Morning everyone. Didn't get a chance to post yesterday, but I got in Fat Blasting Cardio. Today I'm not sure if I'll get any Firming in, but I'll be golfing after work.
Nightbird ... when I first got started, I found that really following a beginners schedule of working out only every other day really helped to keep me motivated, and gave my muscles a much needed rest.
s&k'smom ... sorry but I'm giggling just a little bit with you this morning. I go through all of that *eating healthy* stuff myself. :grouphug:

Good morning FIRMies!
I'm so sorry I've been lackadasical in posting the past few days--we still have our houseguests, and my routine is all jumbly (good news is that they leave Wed. night!) :cheer2:
I've kind of been on a Cathe kick the past few days: PUB, L&G, Step Blast, and this morning KPC. I actually think that by mixing The FIRM in with all her intense stuff is giving me a lot more energy with less burn out and dread factor. And my strength and cardio capacity haven't diminished at all. I'm jonesing for an Allie fix, though, so I think it's going to be her ABS tomorrow.
Hi Nightbird, and a big WELCOME WELCOME!!! :wave2: Your username wouldn't have anything to do with the Stevie Nicks song 'Edge of Seventeen' would it? Love that woman!
Big Love & Hugs to everyone :love2:  And Sheree' I hope you're having a great trip! :goodvibes

I know, I know, I was supposed to continue with my Allie Love Fest and her ABS this morning, but I was in a Cathe mood again, and did Low MAx instead. I have to take advantage and do Cathe when I feel I'm up to it, which hasn't been a lot in the last several weeks or so. But I swear, it's me and my girl Allie, tomorrow!

Hey Kim:
I can't believe that you picked up on that. I have been a hard core Stephanie fan since 1977. I have tickets to see her in concert here in Cincinnati next Tuesday (Front Row!!!!). I would hate to tell y'all what I have spent on Stevie and Fleetwood Mac tickets in my life. I even have a framed autographed photo of her in my very formal living room. Ironically I bought it at Starbillia at Downtown Disney West Side. (Paid so much for it I had to get my hubby to go outside the store while I bought it.) He doesn't care, he has even taken me on trips hundreds of miles from here to see her in concert.
I can't wait to get my Firm set tomorrow. I appreciate the welcome from everyone.
Thanks again for the Stevie connection. People rarely make the connection. I guess I am known by my close friends for my two major interests, Stevie and Disney.
Yep, Just like a White Winged Dove!

Hi Sherree! :goodvibes
Let me just say that the song 'Edge of Seventeen' has...well...a very special meaning for me. :bitelip: :teeth:
I adore Stevie Nicks--Belladonna being one of my fave albums (yes, I said *albums*!) ever. She is just so genuinely unique in her songwriting and vocals and persona--no one comes close to her in terms of individual expression. And dh and I even know a couple who named their one daughter Rhiannon. :) You must tell me everything about her concert next week!
I just love the new TransFIRMer system, and hope you enjoy it, too. My favorite is Aerobic Body Shaping (referred to here as ABS) with Allie. You know how you feel about Ms. Stephanie? That's how I feel about Allie. You will usually find my posts about her and her workouts accentuated by this smilie:  I lost 110 pounds with portion control and exercise, and she was a huge inspiration for me. I just love her! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc Please let us know what you think of your new FIRM kit!

Hi Grand2me! It took me @ 15 months to lose the 110, and go from 235 to 125-127, but I can't take credit for the first 30#. In Feb. 2003, I had to have surgery for a bleeding ulcer, and for over a month all I could eat was low fat, low sugar liquids, purees and soft foods until my stomach healed well enough to eat normally again. I lost 30 in that time, and decided to just keep going. My PCP helped me a lot and monitored my weight loss, since I have an autoimmune thyroid disease and my medication dosage can be affected by my weight. I could barely exercise at first, and started with Walk Away The Pounds tapes (WATP). Getting moving was very tiring, but helped a lot with regaining my strength and range of motion after surgery (I was cut open from sternum to belly button). I coupled the WATP with portion control/healthy eating, and the pounds really started coming off. It took several months of consistent exercise to work my way up to The FIRM, and when I first started, I couldn't even do the beginner moves. I just modified like crazy and used little/no weights, and honestly began seeing greater strength and cardio capacity within the first week or two. The key was just to keep it consistent, and I eventually worked up to 5-6 workouts a week. This along with the change in eating habits brought me to where I am now, and I've been officially maintaining since Jan. 2004. I had one big slip-up, and regained 15 pounds (binge- and emotional-eating are my biggest problems), but caught that early enough so that I was able to lose it again. I refuse to ever yo-yo again, because it was very frustrating, and I really felt like a failure. I now weigh myself everyday (a lot of people don't go by numbers on the scale, but it's the only thing that keeps me in check), and exercise with Cathe Friedrich and The FIRM 5-6 days a week. I still have big-time food issues, but try to eat fairly well the majority of the time. It's a day-to-day battle to maintain my weight loss, but it's worth every minute. I never want to feel as unhealthy again as I was at 235 (and I have the bloodwork to prove how unhealthy I was!). I still struggle with food issues and body image, but at age 38, I'm in the best shape of my life, and can even out push-up my dh! :p Good health really is worth the effort. :) Best wishes to you as you work towards your health and fitness goals, and feel free to ask any questions! :grouphug:
I hope you all have a lovely Thursday, everyone! Something got into my flower beds last night, and dug up some of my petunias! Now I have to go out and replace them! Hey--maybe it was The Brady's Dog, Tiger! Wherever did that dang dog go after the first season? The doghouse was still there on their artificial-grass lawn that Greg still had to mow, but no Tiger. Hi guys! :flower:
I did Cathe's Muscle Max this morning, as I haven't done pure lifting in a long time. She does these never ending low-end squats and lunges that are just killer. :headache: Interestingly, in this vid. she does leg press on an 8" bench--but we keep a slight bend and complete isolation in the working leg. Oh, man, does this get you in the thutt (Ya-Ya word--where your butt meets your thigh)! Proof positive that if 14" FL leg press kills your knees, or you don't have the leg strength to do them at that height, you can still get major benefits from doing them at 8". I've got thutt-burn! :cool1:
I hope you all have a wonderful evening! :grouphug:

Hi Cindy! Are you interested in more FIRM videos, or are you looking for another instructor? Do you have the FIRM Fanny Lifter, or by chance do you also have their new TransFIRMer system (I'm guessing you have all the BSS2 vids if you have Jen's Total Sculpt)? If you don't have the TransFIRMer, I highly recommend it--I think it's become my favorite of all the FIRM systems, and it can be used with all the previous workouts. If you don't want to purchase anymore equipment right now, check out BSS1's Cardio Sculpt and Body Sculpt--fun vids! You can find some older FIRM on ebay or Collage--they're difficult and fun--especially if you don't mind the earlier workout vid. 'cheese factor' of leotards and legwarmers! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: A lot of people like the new Tae Bo Bootcamp series, too. I do mostly Cathe Friedrich and the FIRM. Cathe is probably the most difficult instructor out there, and after doing her exclusively for a year, I had to go back to mixing her up with The FIRM again--I was completely burned out on all her high intensity (although my resting heart rate went from 71 to 55, and I gained a lot of strength). You'll get the best results, and duck all the burn out and boredome and possible overuse injuries of the same workouts if you mix things up. It keeps it fun and fresh and keeps you so much more motivated! :cheer2: Any questions, just ask away!
S&k'smom, you spitfire redhead, you! I saw your pics on the Boston DIS Meet thread, and may I say--You're one Fabulous Babe! :cool1: And your little Kerry's a cutie, too! :cutie:

Hi Kim,
I have the BSS2 with the Fanny Lifter and the Sculpting stick. I also own the BSS with Cardio Sculpt (Allie, Allie, Allie) Body Sculpt and Ab Scuplt.
I have been checking out the Transfirmer Series, as it would be nice to have a few more aerobic vids so I can work out in consecutive days. I have now been firming for about 6 weeks or so. I went to the Cathe web site but Oh my Gosh....where to start...there are so many choices...Any specific recs for those???? I have lost 15# on WW and now am trying to add the exercise part of fitness. Of course, now that I have been exercising, I find that I have stopped counting points. If I could only put the two together :confused3 .
I want to lose another 15# and turn 40 in October in the BEST SHAPE of my life. Thanks, Cindy

Hey Cindy! :flower:
The new TransFIRMer series is so much fun, and you get some great workouts! If you have the chance to get it, I'd say go for it! If you like The FIRM in general, I think you'll love The TransFIRMer!
I just love, Love, LOVE Cathe--but yes, she has so many workouts, and they can be so tough and intimidating! It took me a while to work up to being able to do her stuff, but if you're an experienced exerciser and know how to modify for your own personal fitness level, then many of Cathe's w/o's are doable. One of the reason's she so tough, is that in her cardio, she uses a much faster Beats Per Minute, which means that not only are you doing more complex foot patterns and plyo moves, but you're doing them at a faster pace! Honestly, she can fly. She has some beginner/intermediate w/o's which may be of interest to you, but in my honest opinion (that and a penny will get you 2 cents!), I'd get workouts that you can work towards completeing--something that will challenge you! It's important to balance out challengeing your abilities with understanding your abilities--do not let yourself get frustrated with what you *can't* do yet. Always focus on what you *can* do, and modify, modify, modify! This is the only way to increase your fitness level. If you get frustrated and think you'll never be able to complete a certain workout, then it becomes very easy to just throw in the towel and give up for good. It's so important to measure your successes in small increments--maybe you can only do 5 pushups on your first try, but if you stay consistent with your exercise, then I bet next week you'll be doing 6 or 7. It maybe small, but you are succeeding nonetheless, and those small acheivements will add up bigtime! :) With all that said, if you're interested in Cathe's advanced w/o's, I'd go with the BootCamp/Muscle Endurance dvd or Kick, Punch & Crunch/Legs & Glutes dvd to start. All these can be done with your Fanny Lifter and modified for your own personal fitness level. They are hard!!!!! You can add them into your rotation once in a while to mix it up, or make them part of your regular workouts. KPC has an ab section done on the stability ball at the end, but she does show a modifier without the ball. Take a look at the previews at her site--if you see anything else you may like, please feel free to ask! My heart is with Allie  and the FIRM, because they were really responsible for helping me drop the 110 pounds, but there is no one like Cathe to whip you into incredible shape. And believe me, you *will* feel whipped alright! :faint:
HTH! :) :) :)

Morning Firmies ... just gotta add that when I was in college one of the "rules" we made for our quarters games was to name an episode of the Brady Bunch :rotfl:
I got in Complete Body Sculpting yesterday ... actually got through the whole workout with 7 and 9lb weights. Today is a golf day for me.
Can I ask you some questions? I've been really good about working out since mid-March. I worked out every-other day for a good 6 weeks, then upped it to workouts 2 days then off 1. I got totally thrown off my routine over the last 2 weeks or so ... last week I only got in 2 days of FIRM workouts and walked 9 holes of golf. The worst part is that I'm just starting to notice some pretty steady decline in the numbers on the scale ... and then I go 3 days in a row w/o a workout :guilty:
How do you keep yourselves motivated? I know that I feel better when I'm working out ... my mood is better, my outlook in general is better, my energy level is up, and I'm loving finally seeing some movement on the scale. I'm trying so hard to not get totally down on myself and re-motivate, but dang it's hard!

Hey poohsmom, I can so identify, sometimes it's very hard to stay motivated but like you said once you do it the day always seems brighter. Welcome to the dark side of the form force.

Hi everyone! :flower:
I did Cathe's Low Max this afternoon. And speaking of motivation...I usually exercise first thing in the morning, but today I had the hardest time getting myself in the mood to do it. I ate terribly yesterday (tons of sugar!), and that always affects my workouts for the worse. I finally got going around noon, and now that I'm done, I'm so glad.
Poohssmum, it took a while for daily exercise to become a habit for me, but with certain exceptions, it is just something I do daily like brushing my teeth. I had to make it a priority, or I'd never do it. First thing in the a.m., I put on my workout clothes and exercise. That way it's done and over with, and I feel so much better about myself. If I have a day with an early appointment, I'll get up an hour or so earlier to get my workout in. My main goal is to keep off the 110 pounds I lost, and speaking from experience, there's just no way to do that unless I exercise on a consistent basis--I just had to burn that message into my brain! I've also found that mixing up your workouts with different instructors/different disciplines really helps alleviate boredome and keeps things fresh. I mix up FIRM and Cathe Friedrich, and occasionally I run (but I'm horrible). I kickbox, do step, high step, circuit, AWT and pure weightlifting (both endurance and strength rotations). I've found that I have the attention span of a gnat, and that if I don't change things around I get get grumpy and bored. Like my darling s&k'smom :love2: I like to come here for advice, support, and laughs, too! :) It's fun to get everyone's opinions on new workouts--I never would've caved and bought BSS4 if it weren't for this thread, and now it's my favorite FIRM series of all time! Finding things that you enjoy doing is the absolute key to consistency. I have tried pilates a million times, and for the life of me find it the most boring and torturous workout ever--but some people *love* it! What works for one, will not work for all, so try different things and do what you enjoy! Making exercise a priority and a habit, I believe, is more difficult mentally than physically. Set your mind to it--tell yourself how terrific you will feel once those endorphins start kicking in, and how even better you'll feel once you're done! Then follow through--mind over matter. :) Oh, I make it sound so simple, don't I?
Check in with us as often as you can, poohssmum, whether you're feeling awesome about your accomplishments or a little down and unmotivated--we'll get you through it--we do it for each other everyday! :grouphug:

Hey Firm Friends! :sunny:
I got back from Las Vegas very late Friday night. Got a slow start Sat., but eventually did Ultimate Calorie Blaster. Could not find time Sun. to do any exercise as I was up to my eyeballs in laundry. Feeling very energetic this morning I did Complete Body Sculpting and Express Cardio.
I had a great time in Vegas with my mom and DD. DH was on a business trip in Amsterdam and London; DS was on a trip with classmates to Washington D.C. and New York. Even though I had many tasty adult beverages and indulged in dessert a couple of times, I managed not to gain any weight. I'm sure all the walking we did helped.
poohssmum, we all go through cycles with our motivation. When I'm not feeling very motivated, I remind myself how far I've come and that I have to continue to workout to maintain my weight. And then, in the immortal words of a well-known ad campaign, I JUST DO IT, whether I want to or not. Afterward, I always feel better and I know I have just done something good for myself.
Have a great day everyone!!

I was at Ross today & saw The Firm's Crosstrainers - Firm Cardio with Heidi Tanner & decided to try it after all the rave reviews I've read about The Firm. I used it for my afternoon workout. I don't know why they call it The Firm when it turned my legs to jelly. Towards the end of the workout I got rid of my step & just did the footwork on the floor. Its so much faster than any of the other workouts I've done. I couldn't keep up. I don't see how they move that quickly. I just did what I could but stuck with it. I used my 3 & 5lbs weights & did NOT use the ankle weights. You all must be in fabulous shape.

Hey my FIRMie friends,
Just an update: I got a call about my MRI and it came back as suspicious for ligament damage. So they referred me to an Orthapedic Surgeon that specializes in Sports medicine. Whew, its about time I get to go to a Dr that is going to take this seriously. Hopefully they figure out what is wrong and are able to advise me on the course of action so I can get better and start exercising consistantly again. I really miss it.
One good thing is the tingling pain in my right foot has subsided and I only feel a slight tingling/pain surge in either foot every once in a while. But the constant tingling pain seems to be going away??? I hope so. Maybe its starting to heal or maybe Its just a fluke.
Anyway, I just wanted to update you all. Not sure if I'll get to do upper body this week as I'm leaving for Vegas on Thursday. I've got so much to do to get ready and I need to find a date to get to the Dr's now.

Hey Mel glad the foot is better, make sure you keep us updated when you see the new doctor.
Vegas baby, I hope we get every single detail.
Taebo today as I needed a good sweat. But boy has it been hard for me to get into anything. I'm going back to the shrink today and hoping to get some rest over the weekend.

Hi FIRMies!
I hurt my foot on Sunday so I haven't been able to do a full workout in a couple of days. I'm not sure what I did: I took a walk with my DD on Sunday morning, came home, sat down on the porch swing, and it started hurting like crazy! :headache:
So, today I think I am going to do Super Body Sculpt Upper Body and Abs and then add on an extra upper body workout of my own. My foot feels better, but I still don't want to hurt it even further.
I do have to say that I would appreciate any good thoughts :goodvibes , prayers, or :wizard: you can send my way today. My scale and I have been having a huge battle the past few months as I have been hovering around the same weight. Even though I am working out and making healthier food choices, the darn thing does not want to budge. :badpc: It's been like this since about January and I am getting very frustrated and very discouraged. :sad1: It feels like all of the FIRMing, Catheing, TaeBoing, Walking, and Running has been for nothing. I've been working out for a year and a half right now and I have only lost 18 pounds with about 45 pounds to go. The scale wouldn't bother me so much if I liked what I saw in the mirror. :sad2: I realize that I am in better shape than I have ever been, but the weight is just not coming off.
Sorry FIRMies... don't mean to be a downer today. Hope everyone has a "Very Brady day!" ;)

Hi FIRMies! :flower:
This afternoon (yep, I had trouble getting moving again this a.m.), I did Steph's UCB and Cathe's Core Max.
Hi Norma! Yeah, baby--Vegas! :cool1: It sounds as though you really had a good time, and I'm glad that with all the "adult beverages" you had, the scale is still your friend! :drinking1 :teeth: Welcome home!
Hi Mel! Oh, I bet you can't wait to get some definitive answers about your foot--I'm sorry it took so long. Hopefully this Dr. will be able to give you a diagnosis and treatment options, and you'll be on the mend real soon! Please let us know how it turns out!
S&k'smom, my dear friend, I am sending many, many good thoughts, best wishes and gentle hugs to you today.
Hi Tracy-Trace! Have you ever tried keeping a food journal/log? I know that when I had to re-lose the 15 pounds I gained back, this was *integral* for me, as I was working out 6x/week and still gaining! I never would've imagined the huge amount of calories I was eating without seeing it on paper. Calories can really add up and you don't necessarily realize it. For example, we have this bag of out-of-this-world-yummy shortbread cookies here. Each little cookie is 80 calories. Now I figure that through the day on Sunday I ate about 10 of them--not all at once, mind you, just nibbled during the day. But when I thought about it, that was an extra 800 calories!!! Plus, it was all sugar, and I really paid for that yesterday with how icky and lethargic I felt. :crazy2: I'd really encourage you to journal *every little bite* at least for a little while to see if your eating is the area that needs to be worked on. You certainly have the exercise down pat! Please let us know how things are working for you, Hunny Bunny! :grouphug:
Well now, FIRMies, I have wonderful news! My ds's little friend Bailey, who was in the car accident and came out of her coma but was still in ICU, has now been moved out of ICU onto a regular pediatric floor! She still has long a way to go, but she is out of danger and on the mend! Thank you all so much for all your prayers and kindnesses! :grouphug: :love2:
Have a great day, everyone! :sunny:

Kim my friend, thank you for that hug I need it.
TG Bailey is better. I was actually thinking of her the other day.
Toystoryduo, I know just how you feel. I've gained at least 5-10 pounds since our trip last November and no matter what I do nothing helps. I think my age has something to do with it and what I mean is my metabolism has definately slowed down. I'm trying a few things but I'm still puzzled on how to jump start any weight loss. To top it off it all goes around my middle, it looks like I'm pregnant.
We should have a food summit one of these days.

Hi All,
Kim--Great news about Bailey!!! So very glad to hear it.
I too have not seen any movement on the scale. I can tell I'm getting stronger each week, but it sure would be nice to see the scale move some.
I guess I need to get back to seriously counting my WW points. Every bite counts!! Cest La Vie!! Cindy

Today was Super Cardio Sculpt and Jiggle Free Abs. I'm trying to burn off all the chocolate that keeps finding its way to my mouth; I'm seriously PMSing.
Kim, that's wonderful news about Bailey! Thanks for keeping us updated.
s&k'smom, I know my metabolism has definitely slowed down as I've aged. As hard as this may sound, you may have to really cut back on (eliminate) refined foods from your diet to kickstart your weight loss. We're here for you with all the hugs  and encouragement :cheer2: you need.
tracy, just don't give up. I agree with Kim about the food journal and hidden calories. Keep trying different things and eventually you'll find what works for you. Stay focused on the positive - you're doing a great job with the exercise part!
mel, glad to hear the pain is subsiding. Take it easy in Vegas and take care of your feet. Hopefully the dr. will have good news for you. Have fun in Vegas!
cindy, WTG on the the progress you've made! Not only are you gaining strength but you are increasing your bone density, which is sooo important for women. Keep up the good work!
Sending good thoughts :goodvibes and hugs to everyone! :grouphug:
Nightbird
06-28-2005, 11:52 PM
Hi Girlies;
Well Nightbird has reached the pinnacle of a dream. I just got home from the Stevie Nicks concert and just as I had visualized, when she started to sing Edge of Seventeen, I took off for the stage. My DH said 20 seconds later the security dudes blocked everyone else from our row from going toward the stage but I had already gone for it.
At the chorus of the song she always comes down to the people along the edge of the stage for a personal moment. Well, when she came to me she took my hand, squeezed it and looked right at me and winked. I just about lost it. She squeezed my hand again and then moved on down the line. I am not quite over it yet. I don't know what else to say.
On another note, I have become newly initiated into The Firm and the overall system. Wow, it is hard in my opinion. I am doing well but can't wait until I am a little more limber. I am motivated though. I do really like the system so far.
Well. better go to bed since it's back to the real world tomorrow in just a few hours.
Thanks for all the motivating posts.
Nightbird

Wow what a night you had Nighbird. That is beyond exciting.
Taebo this am. Wow did I sweat. It's been so humid that you really get hot. Yeah I know I should probably sit down and really look at my diet. I'm a pretty healthy eater but I may follow a program for a short while to kick start things. Everything went well at the docs and I'm feeling, mentally, very good, thanks for all the positive thoughts.

Morning everyone  I got in Total Muscle Shaping last night and have either Thighs Hips and Abs or Fat Blasting Cardio on tap for tonight after work. I'm thinking I might make an attempt at the Cardio. It seems to be my least favorite of the 4 workouts in BSS3 ... I think that's because it's the one that most kicks my backside ;)
Thank you all for your motivation and inspiration :grouphug: I love the progress that I'm seeing so far and that's keeping me motivated, along with your support. Sometimes I just need to be reminded that it's not the end of the world to miss a workout, if I get myself right back on track
I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever stayed as dedicated to a program as I have been since I got my BSS3. I'm in the middle of week 15 in a row of a minimum of 2 Firm workouts (and actually only 2 of the 15 weeks were 2 workouts the second week and last week).
Kim, GREAT news about Bailey!! Thank you for the update. s&k'smom ... glad to hear that all went well at the Dr. Cindy, I started BSS3 in March and I actually saw more of a change in the way my clothes fit many weeks before I saw a change in the scale. I am now seeing some small changes in the scale, but continue to see differences in the way my clothes are fitting ... hang in there! :grouphug:

Hi everyone!
I was up early this morning and did Cathe's IMAX3 step-only premix and her PUB. OUCH!
Hi Norma! Oh, yeah--PMS and chocolate. I hear ya' baby!!!! :mickeybar
OMG Nightbird! What a moment for you! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes That's so exciting that STEVIE NICKS ACTUALLY TOUCHED YOU!!! I'm sure you still haven't come down from that, have you? :cloud9: When I was 16, I was a closet metalhead. I wore pearls and pennyloafers to school, but really wanted nothing more than to be the lead singer for AC/DC. Well, the band Def Leppard was playing a concert in my town, but before the show, they played against local DJ's in a charity soccer match. I was in love with the singer at the time, and when the game was over went to get his autograph along with 4 million other girls. When he came to the girl next to me, he said to me, "May I borrow your pen?" I just stood there, dumbstruck. Then he handed it back to me and I ran away clutching that dang pen, forgetting to ask for his autograph for myself. That was my moment for him to fall in love with me ('cause I knew he just would!) and I blew it. Just think, we'd still be together 20 years later, and I'd be living the rock-n-roll lifestyle with money up the wazoo. 'Cause that's the thing about rock stars--they're so loyal! :p I'm so glad you had such a magical experience!
Hi s&k'smom! I don't want you to think I didn't want to answer your last PM to me--I had to turn the PM feature off. A few months ago this guy from the CB wouldn't leave me be, so I turned it off then and he kind of forgot about me. Well, he's back, so I'm trying to tune him out again. If anyone needs to get ahold of me, please do so on this thread. I'm so glad you're feeling good about things, dear friend! And by the way, we are going to have to find Tom Cruise and "go medieval" on his you-know-what! That's my homage to Mr. Samuel L. for you today! :hyper:
Hi poohssmum! Oh, it's just so wonderful that you've found workouts you like and that you can stick with! Isn't it an awesome feeling to be getting stronger and more fit every day?! :) I think you've hit the proverbial nail right on the head when you say to not get too wrapped up in missing a workout--don't dwell on it, just get right back in the swing of things the next day! Consistency is so important, but just as important is realizing that having an off day when it comes to working out or eating properly *will* happen--doesn't mean you're a failure and you should just give up. It just means you're human, and like everything else in life, there's no such thing as perfection. It's how we recover from that off-program day that really matters, and you certainly have the right attitude! Congratulations on all your progress, poohssmum! We're so happy to have you working out with us! :)
Well, ladies, I have just returned from a trip to Sports Authority, where I have purchased (obligatory drumroll please).......... A new set of 25 lb. dumbbells! :cheer2: Now, I can't get too excited about it, as I can only use the 25'ers for lat and overall back work, but I do feel a little puffed up that the 20's were starting to feel just a bit easy. I'll give credit to Cathe for this, though--her strength work is just killer! :faint:
Thanks for all the well-wishes for Bailey!
Have a Happy Hump Day! :grouphug:

Hey all,
Did I tell you all that Saturday I went to get fitted for a REAL pair of good running shoes?? They have you walk, look at your feet and determine the right shoes for your type of feet. The bad thing is I have 30 days to try them out (indoors) if I want to return them. Not good since I haven't been running. So last night I actually got on the TM, I know...........I probably shouldn't since I have no idea what is going on but I wanted to try them out. Sometimes my desire to exercise really gets the better of me. I ended up running 1 mile and walking 1 mile for a total of 2 minutes. My foot/feet felt good and still does so I think that's a good thing. For the most part I ran the 1 mile straight pretty easily so at least I'm not back to square one aerobically. YEAH!
I called the Orthopedic Dr yesterday and unfortunately I can't get an appointment until 8/11 with the guy who specializes in foot/ankle. Talk about dragging this stuff out. The way the medical field works its not really good in my opinion. They really drag this stuff out and it takes forever to get diagnosed and appointments. By the time they figure out what's wrong its either going to be healed or a person could hurt it further.
Nightbird- It sounds like you had a great time at the concert. Congrats on getting to meet Stevie Nicks.
Kim- I'm so glad Bailey is doing better. I'm glad our prayers and pixie dust have been helping. Congrat's on the 25lbérs. :cool1:
Poohsmum- I'm so glad you like the FIRM and its keeping you motivated. I feel the same way. The FIRM made me love to exercise and kept me exercising like nothing else ever did. Now I've found running races- I love that too!
S&K''s mom- Glad your Dr appointment went well.

Oh yeah let's go midevil on Tom Cruise, but the scary, really scary part is he said something today I agreed with, there is life outside this planet in the universe. Oh God agreeing with TC.
Well tomorrow I think I'll do a 30 min firm tape as I've just got to get some housework done. Maybe our friend Allie's jiggle free abs as I've been getting into my bathing suit and jiggling.

Good morning everyone,
This is probably my last check in for the week unless I'm slow here at work and can't stay away from the DIS.
I was really feeling my quads from my run on Tuesday night. Not really sore, just noticing they were there. Especially going up and down the stairs (even this morning). It felt really good!
You know I used to like Tom Cruise, but very recently his stock has gone way down in my book. I don't like how he is acting and how he is promoting his Church of Scientology. He's actually sort of sceeving me out, lol!!
I think he went after a young girl to make himself FEEL younger!!

I'm going to keep at this weight loss thing! I'm gonna keep FIRMin', Cathein', TaeBoin', Joggin', and Walkin' my way to a slimmer me! I'm also going to take your suggestion Kim (thanks! ) and start journaling all of my food. Every single bite! I never thought about it, but the tiny bites of different foods throughout the day probably do add up. No time like the present so I will start today! :goodvibes
As for exercise, I did Total Sculpt + Abs with Jen. I love most of the workout, but the ab workout doesn't do much for me.

Hi everyone! :flower:
I did Cathe's Gym Style Legs and Core Max today. It was the first time I tried GS Legs, and OH MY GAWD--my legs were already shaking a third of the way into the workout. She does this one move called slow motion lunges, and she says she'll be using two 5 lb. weights. I was like "What? Why is she only using 10 pounds total?" (when she's normally like 40-45). Well, geez, did I find out why. You start in static lunge position, then go in slow motion: down 4, hold 4, pulse 4, hold 4, back up 4. Gosh, you only do four on each side, but I swear I almost couldn't move afterwards. I think the standing leg work in this one is even harder for me than Legs & Glutes. Wiped...me...out. :faint:
Hi Sheree'! I'm so glad you had a great time and enjoyed all the walking! I bet it was a real workout for your legs. Enjoy your Jiggle Frees tomorrow, and WELCOME HOME! :flower3:
