Okay, I've just been in envy and awe over these designs and I do plan to "borrow" a couple for our October trip from Midnite and J&N's websites (THANK YOU!), but I do have a request, if anyone (Midnite ? ;) ) has the time. Could you do one of the 3D Mickey's with POR? I LOVE the resort ones and I'm totally jealous! I wish I were staying at the GF or Poly just to wear one of those designs! Many thanks for all of the wonderful designs - I just enjoy seeing all the creativeness on this board. :flower:

Wow...I thought I was the only one who dreamed of homemade matching shirts! I have to say, I'm so excited. I've gotten sooooo many ideas from here and I've only read up to page 40! Our next trip is in december so I think we're going to "mickey" tye dye some long sleeve tshirts with different shades of red and green. I'm also trying to design something for either a solid colored long sleeve tshirt or a sweatshirt (I guess it really depends on what the weather is doing before the trip.) I had the delimma of using a dark colored shirt until I found this thread and discovered there was such a thing as dark transfer sheets. I made shirts for my family a few years back but they were very plain. I used images of each person's favorite character in the center front...they matched though b/c they were all faces inside of a circle. Why didn't I think to put writing on it? Mabey it was b/c this trip was before I had my DELUXE version of printshop. I made this design last nite but I'm not sure if its the one we'll use. (I know, Mickey's head in the 2005 is a little crooked..must have bumped something). I thought I'd put together a couple of different ones and let the kids vote.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b173/shanebarnes1978/SHIRT1.jpg
Someone asked how the transfers hold up. My husband still has his and it's faded some but I believe it's been washed nearly 2 dozen times.
The hardest part for me is finding clipart in a large enough file size that the images won't be distorted when I blow it up. I'm also looking for some usable photos (not cartoon) of the castle. Anyone have a link?

Midnite,
I have a favor, please. On the GF 3D Mickey design, is there anyway to make all of the design that says "WDW resorts" the dark red? I still cannot see the word "resort" or the stars very well.
Also, can you make the title a little "Christmasy" and put Christmas 2005 under the words "having a grand time"?
Thanks! You rock!

Okay so I am slowly getting better at using this but still cannot figure out how to get the text to print differently. By that I mean I would like to maybe have an arch to the text over the artwork or have it on the side at an angle. Can anyone who is using photoimpact help me with this. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Also I too cannot seem to post pictures to this site. Followed Midnites instructions but when it comes to the address part I am lost. I am trying to post my picture from photoimpact. Any ideas on this. TIA.

Highlight your text and then click on wrap gallery (over on the right on your easy pallette) and it should work.

Julie & Nicks Mom,
Is there some way you can put like 6 green mickeys.
On 1 design.
As the transfer paper is 8x11 or something like that.
DS wants them about the same size as the Home Depot Mickeys.
That way I can print out a sheet full.
Cut out & iron on.
Bigg time saver.
I have to make 42 shirts. :faint:
Thinking maybe to put screen name on them.

I figured the text thing out yesterday - select the text and then open up the Easy gallery list on the right hand side and select text and then deform or wrap gallery then find the shape you want - there's slopes and circles etc and drag it over onto your text and then your text changes!
To post your images get registered with photobucket - you upload your images to it by browsing your folder and then it actually gives you the image tag which you copy and paste into your message.
If you have your own server you need to put these tags around the url insert url

Dumb Question Alert....
Thanks to Midnite and Julia and Nick's mom they have a link where they've put up some of their designs...
so if I "right click, then save as..." put them in a folder on my computer... is this all I need to do? Can I put them in paint and customize them myself? Then are they the right size to print onto the transfer paper???
TIA for answering....

That is how you save them - I am not sure on if mine would be the right size for paint -
I think paint ahs REALLY limited capabilities so I have always done stuff like this in word (well until I found photoimpact  )
you can insert the image into word and then you can see the size and I think it is easier to add words

So, is just safest to print these designs on white shirts to avoid color problems? I'd love to print some on blue, orange, pink, but I all the designs have white in them. So, am I better off just going with plain white? Any suggestions?
I like to use colored shirts, too! Here are a few possibilites you might use for printing on non-white shirts --
1. You can trim around the design to eliminate all/most of the extra white that would print off. It would depend on your design as to how this would turn out.
2. You can add the shirt color (as closely as possible) into what would be the outside white area. I have done that with the Paint program since it has a custom color option. I bought PhotoImpact altho' I haven't had a chance to try it yet but I'm guessing it has that option, also.
3. Add a "frame" around the design in a pretty contrasting color to the shirt color (this would break up the visual of a white block around the design) or make the "frame" as close to the shirt color as possible.
Maybe some of these ideas will help you. White is fine for shirts but I'm like you, I want to do some colored ones, too. :flower:

Oh my goodness, I am so confused. I am 30 yrs old and this will be my first trip to Disney with DH and DS age 5. All of the decisions that need to be made, just when I think I have it, I look on the Disboards and see something else.
I have a question about the designs I am seeing. I love some of the designs, but how do you download them and get a good quality photo? When I print them out, the image is very grainy and fuzzy.
Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure if I like that the labels all say 2005...wondering if anyone has ideas for funny sayings to go under each saying...like "theme park commando" would be pretty good under mine. That is a good idea! and I was looking at several of MidNite's and J&N's moms shirts. I think several of their designs could be shrunk and/or modified to make a pocket design for the front of a shirt. I think my DH and I both would like that better. The kids will want their shirts with the design on the front (so they can see them).

Okay..this is the one I think we'll go with for Christmas. The larger image will go on back and the smaller "labels" will go where a pocket normally would (right front?). I'm not sure if I like that the labels all say 2005...wondering if anyone has ideas for funny sayings to go under each saying...like "theme park commando" would be pretty good under mine. I'm also thinking I'd like to squeeze MVMCP (first also) onto the back design but not sure where it would look good or how to word it if anyone has suggestions.

Lime green is the "official" color of the DIS boards. People use it to identify themselves as a DISer. Right now lime green is very popular, so the Mickey heads are a little trick people are using to be more specific.

I'm not familiar with Tourguide Mike or the radio thing you are talking about, can someone point me in the right direction please.
Thanks and I'll try not to stay away for so long again. I will have to figure something out for our trip, at the current rate that could be nearly 100 pages in the 10 days we'll be gone. Is there a limit to the number of pages allowed on a thread?

OK, can anyone help me with this.....I've been trying all evening to put a border around this design, so that I can put it on a colored t-shirt. I was thinking of a leaf green or bark brown color for the border. I just cannot get it to work in Paint, and I haven't been able to load the trial version of Photoshop to our computer (not that I would know how to use it :3dglasses )
What I would really like is a leaf or tree trunk pattern for the border around the design.......but I'm probably hoping for TOO MUCH :sad2:

Maybe just the large letters out front? or the star by check-in? I might have some that'll work already.

Could someone tell me if there is another way to download these pictures to get better quality? They are beautiful on the screen, but come out grainy and fuzzy when I print. Thanks!

The designs you are seeing on screen are smaller than a print version as they need to be to post. You can get full size versions by going to websites set up by some of the design makers (i.e. Midnite and Julia & Nick's Mom) or you can PM the designers of other ones you like and ask them to e-mail you full-size versions for printing. Hope that answers your question.

Hi to everyone. I'm quite recent to the Dis boards, and especially to this thread. I'm loving seeing all the shirts. I do have a couple of questions, if anyone can answer them.
1. Can someone tell me how to PM?
2. Is there anyone out there (MidNite or Julia and Nick's Mom) that would be interested in modifying one of your designs for a trip to Disneyland? That's where my family is heading in September. I'd love to have matching shirts since this will probably be my mother's last trip with us. She has cancer and has to have open heart surgery soon. Prognosis, not good. I'd love to have some pictures of us all in matching shirts to remember this trip by.
Let me know if anyone's interested. Thanks a million.

Someone was looking for blank t-shirts.
Craft Warehouse has white in many kid & adults sizes.
Regular price $3.00.
Michaels has colors for kids $4.00 adults $5.00.
Hope the helps.
Not sure what Walmart prices are closest 1 is 30 miles.

Where is the best (and most affordable) place to find good quality white shirts??? I went to Wal-mart and we had to buy a few in the boys section.
Try cheapestees.com. Their prices are good, and their shipping is extremely fast! There might be discount codes available too, you could check on the Budget Board.

I have a solution!
I hope everyone doesn't mind, but I have taken some of your designs (b/c there are too many that we love) and used them for our mousekeeping envelopes. I will post later when I am done, but that way, we can still use and enjoy them.
Maybe need a thread of these? I don't know. :confused3

Thanks for all the help. I am still unable to download my pictures to this site. It will not let me download my images into photobucket because it says it does not support my images. When I try to see what format my images are in it does not say, it just says ULEAD Photoimpact. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.
Tracy
P.S. All your designs are out of this world.
You should save your designs in that format so you can keep editing them in phot impact - but to upload to photobucket you also need to do a save as and pick jpeg from the list so it has.jpg at the end of the file.

Oh no not you too! I'm addicted to photo impact and as MidNite and J&N's mom are coming up with so many shirts I haven't got enough days to wear them I started designing mousekeeping envelopes, and CM thanks cards, and luggage tags and... :rolleyes1
My DH2B keeps threatening to physically remove me from my pc... in fact I just came upstairs half an hour ago to look up a pancake recipe on the net for tea, and I'm still here reading this thread! :rotfl: Great way of losing weight for the trip :goodvibes

I just ordered some photos from photobox - proofs of my wedding invitations - and I had some spare credit so I just ordered MidNite's first 3d image - the one with Out of this world on? It came out really clear and crisp and looked just like a postcard! I'm thinking of printing a batch before I go and writing people's addresses on the back - then writing a message while I'm in WDW and posting them...
It might work with some of the other images that everyone has created too.
hope you don't mind Midnite :0)

When I go to MidNite's and J&N Mom's websites and try to save their designs I cannot save them as .jpg files. The only options when I save is .art or .bmp which I don't want. If I DO save them as bitmaps they won't open. Says they are not correctly formatted.

Yours too, huh?! My DH thinks I have lost my MIND!!! Prior to finding the DIS I use to make fun of people who spent more than fifteen minutes online checking e-mail or current events! :badpc: I had to politely tell him last night to back off! :hyper2: I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't run around and as long as I keep my son's diaper changed before it falls off from sheer weight, its all good, right!?

I had the same problem. Do you use AOL? If so, AOL automatically compresses graphics files to enhance speed (I did not come up with this, I found it on a troubleshooting website so if it is not the exact explaination, please no flames!) I guess that's where the .art comes from. You have to go into AOL's Settings. If you have 9.0, view by category. Under Customize AOL click view all. Scroll down to How AOL Works and click on Browser Settings. Change the default to Never Compress Graphics. Once the change takes place and you right click on a image, you should see other graphic save options.
Hope this helps!

I do have reservations for Poly concierge in October. :cool1: The ME folks should be able to deliver us to correct resort. I think it would be great fun to go up to the ME desk and say "guess where we're headed...". :rotfl2: Only problem is I've already got a Dash shirt for DS and we're planning on MGM on arrival day so I want DS to see Incredibles with Dash shirt. Guess he'll be changing at the resort before we head out to the parks.
