I'm not sure about my transfers....but I think the shirt still turned out okay. But there seemed to be some ink left on the transfer....anyone have any experience with that? Did I not iron it long enough? Here it is on my "cheesy" DD.

To repeat an earlier question that I had, Do you think I can iron on an Avery transfer over one of these that I messed up? Or am I just asking for trouble?
I wouldn't try it. I think you'll just waste more ink and new transfer sheets.

OK, now the bad paper has found a home and the good paper is on it's way. In the process I ruined 4 of my shirts! I kept thinking that I was doing something wrong and that I would get it right the next time.
Important lesson learned, as much as you hate to do it, you should test your skills on scrap fabric...
That being said, where would you recommend getting more shirts? Cheap but good quality.
I bought my last set from blankshirts.com and got the Gildan 100% cotton 6.1oz. I really like these and would like to stick to the same brand/style of shirts.
Where is the cheapest place (including shipping) that I can get these shirts?
Does anyone know of retail stores that carry this brand??

J&N - I ironed on a hard flat desk. I ruined 3 shirts trying different ironing times and different ways of pulling the paper off. I think I'm just going to give in and order some of the avery paper. At least I know it works, I want my shirts to look as good as your designs look on the computer!
Do you think that I can put an "iron-on" on top of an "iron-on" of the same design and maybe salvage the shirts that I have ruined. If anyone has tried this already and failed miserably, please let me know so that I don't waste any more transfers.
I'll go check out the other thread, I had forgotten about it since I got my shirts in!
Thanks BTW - I love your 4 parks one!
When I ironed, I left the paper on till it cooled because the directions with my paper (not Avery) said if you wanted a glossy finish, to let the paper cool and then pull off. It didn't come out glossy, but came out much, much better. Hope that helps, and once you find out what works for you... you'll be even MORE addicted!!

A "hobby" version (one that can do 8-12 T's in a session) runs around $350. We could create a "heat press swap". Everyone can chip in and then we can all share. :rotfl2: Maybe we could do it like the stroller swap and folks can make them at their resorts and have the press held in luggage hold till the next DDA member claims it. Do you think heat presses are allowed in the resort rooms? Then maybe we'll all pitch in to purchase one for hats ($600 :earseek: ) and start a whole new craze. :teeth:

What brand were the shirts from walmart? Can anyone suggest a retail store and/or brand for good but inexpensive shirts? Are there cami type tops that would work too? Any particular colors (other than white) that work well? I think I might try and do some shopping for materials this weekend. Future DH has agreed to wear one for MNSSHP and possibly a wedding themed one.
Julia & Nicks Mom - your designs are great! There are two that I would like to slightly customize if at all possible. You are an angel to help out those of us who are not crafty/creative. I can send you a PM this weekend if its okay.

momof2OH -- I was wondering if you wouldn't mind putting "PopPop a.k.a Donald" at the bottom of your Donald design.
My dad is a big Donald fan and always teases my kids and says that Donald is #1 when they, of course, cheer for Mickey! My dad's name also happens to be Donald, so we have quite a few family jokes going on and I would love to have a Donald t-shirt for him.
Thank you so much!!

I started a t-shirt for our next trip to the Studios. But I need help from my fellow DDAs! I have a beautiful background photo of "The Hat," and a saying: "Lights, Camera, Oehrleins!" Now what I need is a good clip art image of Director Mickey and the newer Disney-MGM Studios logo.
Google searches have failed me! All I can find is the old logo. I noticed one of you pages and pages ago (I'm so sorry I forgot who it was) had worked all 4 theme park logos into one design, and that logo looked great. Any idea where it came from?
So far, the best Director Mickey I've found online is a photo of a pin, and I think it's a little too 3-D looking to work into my design.
Please help!

It seems like I saw Gildan T-shirts on clearance at BJ's, I think that they only had mens though. They had 3 packs of colored boys T's too. I did a tank with built in bra for myself (walmart) and it came out as good as regular t's. I did shrink the design down a lot to make it work. I have now finished all 3 sets of shirts and am waiting for my family (models) to all be free at the same time to take some pictures. Oh yeah, the tye dye towel came out great too.

Why I am sure I would find many uses for a heat press machine. Let me think about it, yeah :rolleyes1 Honey, can we buy a heat machine? I need it for my tshirts. Honest, I can make them look even better than they do now. I mean it will pay for itself in about 30 years, because we can give everyone tshirts for every birthday, christmas, thanksgiving and so on. & it doesn't matter that your dad doesn't like Disney, we could find other things he does like. It doesn't matter that in 30 years I will be 87, the heat machine can go with me to the retirement home. I can run classes there, teaching everyone to make tshirts. Yeah, I need that machine, gotta have that machine. I think I will buy it. :cool1:

Julia & Nicks Mom good luck on the WPASADI challenge .Let me know if it works. What you decided to do?
I think you will REALLY enjoy it!!!
Hey Penny -
if you get clipart and the background is all white or gray - there is a magic eraser tool in photoimpact - go to the regular eraser and click on the arrow in the bottom right corner - choose the other eraser - when you click on the design it will erase all of the color that you click on - so if you click on the white background - poof :wizard: - it will be gone!!
you can choose different degrees of similarity - 0 meaning they are an exact match - I find that around 20 is the best range - beyond that you might get things you don't want - it is the kind of feature that you will get a feel for the more you use it!

I was there last year when they won the series and had the parade - got to see curt schilling - it was pretty cool - had my DH been a Red Sox fan - he would have thought he had died and gone to heaven!!

Oh my, every day you amaze me. thanks, this is exactly the answer I have been looking for. I knew there had to be an easier way to do this. I am going to try to do it. Now do I do it the way I used the regular eraser, copy it onto a new thing with the checkered see through back? then look for the magic eraser?
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Oh by the way, did I remember to thank you. :maleficen :worship: :worship: :worship:

Good luck on your WPASADI challenge.
Please excuse my ignorance but I was wondering what this challenge is. :confused3 I am just being nosy so you don't have to answer if you don't want to.
Oh yeah. Everyone your creativity amazes me! Only fourteen days to go until we move and I will pester my dh to teach me everything he knows about PhotoShop so I can join in the fun instead of just looking at everyone elses designs. If we go on stike there will be more time for DIS and learning to make T-shirt designs! :cool1:

WPASADI is a reality game we play over on the community board - it stands for wickedly perfect amazing survivor american dis idol or something to that effect - we all just remember WPASADI - it started out with 36 players on 6 teams and each week one team gets immunity from a group challenge and the other teams have individual challenges and the boards vote on who gets to stay - we are now down to 12 players (but I believe probably only 7 really active ones)
my team has won immunity twice and has 6 players left (we did merge at one point - so we are remnants of 2 teams) the other teams each have 3 players
Meanlaureen, DemonLlama and Kaylajr are the hosts and they come up with the challenges and rules each week - then there is a panel of about 12 judges (they come and go week to week) who judge the competition
this week the hosts have joined forces as a team and the judges have taken over as the hosts -
we have to write a comic book - here is a link to the challenge
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=881422
recruiting 8 DISers is a challenge and we didn't want to use players we have used before - I am in charge of website design for my team - so when our recruiters got frustrated they asked if there was anyone I could think of that we hadn't already asked - and I knew right where to go!! You will find 3 of our fellow DDA's in our next challenge - I will post the link when we are done!

OK Everyone, you're not going to believe this... I'm been reading every word of this thread for the past week and have several great designs. I downloaded PhotoImpact and I've been playing with it for a few days.
I Am Now Ready To Post a Design of My Own!!!
I know this is shocking and it is a lot like some of the other ones that have been posted. But, Hey that is how I am learning, From all of you! I don't know who to give credit to for the shot of the castle so, whoever took this picture, Thanks!!
Here we go...
http://www.glowfoto.com/images/2005/08/12-1809132759T.jpg (http://www.glowfoto.com/viewimage.php?img=12-180913L&y=2005&m=08&t=jpg&rand=2759&srv=www)
Now, can anyone tell me how to post a larger picture on here? The original image is the right size for 8 1/2 x 11.http://www.glowfoto.com/images/2005/08/12-1809132759T.jpg (http://www.glowfoto.com/viewimage.php?img=12-180913L&y=2005&m=08&t=jpg&rand=2759&srv=www)

:cheer2: Thanks to the 2 Dissers who made designs for the Rock 'n Roller Coaster shirt. I saved the designs but forgot to remember who made them so I could post a proper thank-you. Anyhow, it's just too hard to pick only one so DH suggested that we put one on the front and one on the back.
Now, if someone could work their :wizard: again, I have 2 more requests.
DH would like this Mickey: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v384/MissChelleBelle/mickeyfootball.jpg Now, here's the tricky part, (well, at least for me it was, I tried and couldn't get the hang of it) he would like the helmet a shiny gold and the jersey blue - to match Notre Dame colors. Then he wants "Go Irish" on it too. I know, I know, I'm not an Irish or a football fan but what can I do?
Second request is for a Stitch shirt that says "I'll give you a Stitch or two!". I found this clipart: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v384/MissChelleBelle/stitch.jpg I like it but I'm wondering if it shouldn't be a meaner looking Stitch? Plus it feels like something is missing from it.
Again, I am overwhelmed by all the creativity and helpfullnes ... this has got to be my all time favorite thread!! :grouphug:

After weeks of reading various threads start to finish, this thread finally made me register and attempt for the 1st time to post to a discussion forum of any kind.
I have read all the posts, have loaded/downloaded three different photo programs, have tried (successfully and unsucessfully) to modify pictures, have bought numerous blank T-shirts, have bought the iron on paper, and have attempted 1 shirt so far (with mixed results). Now I'm ready to ask for help and maybe a couple of designs. (Of course if someone is willing to help!)
All the designs that have been created are great! It's amazing to see such original designs done just for fun and for others!! Hopefully I'll figure out how to PM some of the great designers for files to use on my families upcoming trip on September 2nd.

I have a challenge for you wonderful graphic t-shirt designers. My niece turns 3 next week. She loooooooooves the Disney Princesses (and can't wait to get back to WDW to see them in person). I am giving her a Princess rolling suitcase filled with everything Princessy (toothpaste, fruit snacks, pens, stickers, pillowcase, etc.) and really wanted to give her a t-shirt too. Can't find ANY Princess shirts at any stores and then thought of the awesome people on this board. Any chance someone could put together a design for me that I could transfer onto a shirt?
BTW, her name is Nyla. It doesn't need to reflect her birthday, maybe something about being a Princess.

Because we will be there in December I'm assuming that we will need a jacket or sweatshirt in the evening which would cover up a t-shirt design so the design should go on a sweatshirt. I haven't yet tried to play with the graphics yet b/c I'm hung up on the slogan. Any ideas? TIA

I know nothing about the wonderful stuff you guys can do. But I need to learn for our trip in Dec. I do have a good photo printer luckily. I need to sit down and figure out the program that I have. Enough of that! My DS is turning 8 on our trip and if worse comes to worse I can buy a shirt from Dazzle of Malificent as a dragon with his name on it that he loves. BUT- My DD needs something special too. I was thinking about a cross of Alice in Wonderland and Princesses. With the saying " Unbirthday Princess Alicia" any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks! This is in refrence to daivds-coco ??? Yes i did use a ribbed tshirt. It was one of those like "girlie t's", cut kinda short and smaller on the sides. I got it at target(my favorite store). IT did iron on well but it was a little stubburn. Maybe next time i wont go with the ribbed. An u have a good eye to notice that it was ribbed...way to go!!! Good luck with your shirt i cant wait to see it.
Thank you. I'll see, I am still debating getting ribbed ones. Our hanes ones came and I am not all that impressed with their "girl" tees.

If you get a chance, could you possibly change your design "Destination Disney World" to a license tag from Mississippi? The design is the one with Mickey and Minnie in the car on the road going toward the castle. You can email it to me if you want -- cmcleake@cableone.net.
Thanks.
Ok, since you're a MS gal! I'm from Greenville, DB and SIL live in Jackson, my parents live in Olive Branch now, SIL is from Clinton. DH, DBIL, both SIL, DB are all State grads.

I give up! I just spent the last four and a half hours trying to read the whole thread and finally gave up at page 150!! Ya'll are nuts...and I'm so glad that I found you!! :goodvibes I need opinions PLEASE. My DH and I are going to WDW for ten days over Christmas. We will be celebrating his graduation from graduate school, his 28th birthday, Christmas, and our ten years together(we will only have been married for 4.5 yrs, but our first date was 12-7-95 so we feel that should be celebrated :goodvibes). Because we will be there in December I'm assuming that we will need a jacket or sweatshirt in the evening which would cover up a t-shirt design so the design should go on a sweatshirt. I haven't yet tried to play with the graphics yet b/c I'm hung up on the slogan. Any ideas? TIA
10 seems to be a big number for this trip- so why not do a "10 days of Christmas" theme?? Ya know what I mean??? You'll be there for 10 days right? Do 10 different t-shirts each one celebrating a different milestone. On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me... kind of a thing. If thath's too much, then how about doing a t-shirt with that idea on it???

DH Joe and I are kicking around ideas for y'alls t-shirts...how about:
Daisy'sMom....4 Celebrations ,4 Parks.Coincidence? I think not.
You could have pictures of the 4 Parks...J&N Mom has a great design of those then have Happy Birthday,Merry Christmas,Happy Graduation and Happy Anniversary around the park picture.
trappednabox It's my birthday and I'll ride what I want to!
You could have solo trip printed on your sleeve.

J&N's Mom - What happened to your King Daddy, Queen Mommy, Princess and Prince Crown designs? I thought they were on your website but now I can't find them. Or were they someone else's creations. If they are, could someone point me in the right directions? I am starting to have a hard time keeping up with everything!

I am just besides myself with admiration to everyone who has made a design here. I know all of you must have people stopping you in the parks regularly to ask about your shirts.
My jaw is agape!
I don't have a creative bone in my body and we leave in two weeks.
I have a question for anyone: can these designs be put onto iron-on transfers and then can they be ironed onto a hat or a backpack?
My favorite so far is the designer here who makes the Resort-specific ones. I can't wait to see what they do with POR.

There is a POR one (I'm staying at POR, and it was slow coming, for weeks, only POFQ!!) its gorgeous too!!
Do make a test on white paper, you need to "flip" the design I think before printing??? someone?? anyone??? I am so confused!!
you may want to use the iron on paper (avery has high praise) for dark colors, and after ironing on, I've read to leave it set awhile -

Way to go Mom of 2. You really need to stop when you are ahead. :goodvibes
No I don't mean that, don't stop. However, I love the dragon one it is so wonderful. Would you mind making that one blank also?
:scratchin & if it isn't too much trouble, would you mind emailing the first two you made me (included in this post, the blank Mickey & Tink)? when I tried to bring them up to size, the writing started breaking up.
& one last thing (I promise, or at least I think i do). I want to do a figment one for me. (the others are for friends going next week). If you could just send me a blank one that the purple dragon would look good on, I will paste him in and do the writing? I know I am being a pain, but that's what happens when you worship the talent of others. :worship: :worship: :worship:
You don't need to email them to me, as they are working just fine now. I got confused who was making what. :rotfl: However, I still would like the dragon one. thanks, Penny

Julia & Nick's Mom - These are great. I went to your website to download the Mickey ears one and it's not there yet.
The test track one is wonderful and will be perfect for the child who is now old enough to ride (I forget who that was?) I also love the Dumbo one, He's great. Any chance you will post him without words? I want to use him, but it isn't my birthday.
& now last but not least, my September trip is a solo one. DH is staying home. I love the "time to get on the plane" one & the "watch our Disney World, Here we come" one. I was thinking I could do Figment in a rocket (I couldn't find clip art of him in a plane, but I did find one of him in a rocket & Write "Time to get on the Plane taking me to the world" or "Flying Solo to the World". :confused3 However I can't find a blank map of disney world. Can you tell me where to find just a map of the world? Any map will do? :worship:  :worship: I will then make one of Figgy flying over the word with the words above?

Thanks BballDiva - I meant narrow down the number of ideas. :confused3
There are so many good ideas in these pages, I can't decide which ones to do? I am thinking I might use your Mickey on my tote bag.   In fact, that's what I will do. I will narrow down my shirt choices to 7 or 8 (that way I can change shirts if I go back to WL) and put all the other ideas on my tote bag. Yeah, that's what I will do. You see I collect patriotic pins, Dumbo, Eeyore & Figment pins (sometimes Tink too) so I can put wanna trade in the middle and put all the cool ideas around it. & my tote is big enough to take 2 or 3 8 1/2 x 11 transfers, so I can add lots of things. :cool1:   :cheer2:  :cool1:
Ahh, another project to do instead of studying. :bounce:

I have aol and it will not let me download in jpeg. I saw the post way back that told you how to change it in aol, and I did change it, but now it is doing it again. I thought I remembered how to change it again, but it is not working. And now I cannot find the post that said how to do it. Can someone please help.
Also, I love all of the designs, and I would like to use some of them later.

Hey, j&n's mom & I make a GREAT team!
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y128/triplefigs/DestinationDisneyMS.jpg
And here's the Villain one (also collaboration between the 2 of us!)
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y128/triplefigs/DisneyVillian.jpg
They are both perfect!!! Ya'll two are both great designers! My DS8 thinks the villain one is the greatest! Now he's wanting one with the Incredibles on it!! Seen a couple on here. Plus looking for some websites. Thinking about doing something like put the Incredibles group pic and then adding his picture to it. Then wording it someway -- I'm hiding the Destination one for now. We leave afterschool on a Friday, so I'll have it for him to change from his uniform into it for the ride down!!! Thanks again to both of you! I'll let you know how they turn out on the shirts!
Edit -- Just noticed that Midnite & J&N's Mom are having the same idea of doing shirts with the Incredibles. Where's the best source for the Incredible Clip art? Also, does the Incredibles have a unique font?

I must confess, I am addictive to this thread. I love all of the designs as everyone is so creative. You'll have given me so many great ideas that I went out yesterday and purchased Photo Impact. I am still in the reading phase trying to learn. My DH and I are going to WDW 11/23 - 12/03/05. I will be celebrating my birthday while we are there. I would like to do a design on a denim shirt. Do the transfers work on these?

GULP. OK. Here goes.
I created a gray circle in the middle of the screen. Then I did Polar Coordinates, Rectangular to Screen (or something like that, I am on my laptop right now, and don't have PS open). Then I did add noise, gaussian with the slider all the way up. I made a motion blur vertically, also with the slider up all the way. I opened the levels (CTRL + L) and put it very far into the black and white. Then I did Polar Coordinates to Center. This makes the burst looking thing. The edges were a little harsh, so I made a mask over the layer with the burst and used the gradient fill (radial) on the mask to soften the edges. Then I made another layer and did a yellow to red radial gradient and masked it the same as the burst. On top of that, I put another layer and used the airbrush with white to make the center of the burst. The background red color is a shape layer in red. It's got one effect on it which is Inner Shadow. I made the distance 0 and the spread was probably about 20.
Now that I've totally confused everyone, I'll take my leave for the moment.

To all of you experts out there - I need help with the following
I want to make a 3 D font. Colored would be great. I have the following programs currently installed on my machine.
Print Master 15
Photo Shop 20
Adobe Photo Shop Elements 2 &
Photo Impact (trial version for now)
I figured out how to make WDW 3 D in Phot Impact. But I don't know how to copy and use it in Photo Shop? Do I need to do everything just the way I want it to look (size & everything including color) in Photo Impact and then import it to Photo Shop? I saved it on a transparent file, but had trouble working with it when i brought it in to Photo Shop. Any help would be appreciated. Penny
I think I figured it out. Next Question - how do I do shaped text?

Question! How many shirts does one package of powdered RIT dye do?
I plan on doing two sets of shirts: We're going to do a lime green Pop Century shirt with the POP Mickey Mouse head logo (from Midnite) on the front with our names under it in Diner font...and J and N's mom's Twister POP Mat for the back! (Thanks for that, really!!)
The next set is using Midnite's Incredibles postings (awesome by the way, thank you!!!) and J and N's mom's lime green mickey heads. The lime green mickeys say my Screenname on them and above say "Relation of a" and below "Super DISer." Tie dye will be limited to four colors...any good ideas for color?
TIA!

I tried to figure out how to do the starburst behind Mickey/Tink. I played with it for a long while and finally gave up. :badpc: :badpc:
I then went on an images search and found a background that was kind of like a star burst. I changed the color & viola, I have a background. I also did the Words in photo impact & it turned out kind of OK. I wanted to have it be a headline, but it didn't turn out that way. Every day I learn something new. I am going to have to schedule another trip to Disney to wear all of my shirts. I would post them but the dis photo site is still not working. Thanks, Penny

I've searched for hours (unsucessfully) trying to find the designer of this shirt. I was hoping to have it personalized with my dd's name instead of the "celebrating Sept. 15-21,2005. If the designer of this shirt (or anyone else) can duplicate this for me with the name Kaitlyn on the bottom in the same font as birthday pixie, I would be forever grateful :flower:

Somewhere in the great big web world is a picture of Figment flying in a rocket. I did an image search for Figment, nothing came up; an image search for image rocket & found one from pin pics but it was very small and wouldn't get any bigger. I really want to do a shirt with Figment flying over the world (like the one of Mickey & Minnie in the airplane flying over the map of WDW) saying Flying Solo to the WOrld or something like that. I found a map of the world, but I can't find Figment. I know I saw one and swore that I saved it, but alas my computer probably ate it. :badpc: :badpc:

Thanks - I have Digital Image Pro, PSP and Photoshop - I hope one of them does that.
Oh and all - just in case you need it. The triangle on the bottom left of each post with an exclamation point is what you use to report a post to the mods.

Does anyone have any good ideas for a saying to go along with Sorcerer Mickey (in his blue hat/red robe)? I think I found clipart for it and was going to try something. Or if you feel creative, go ahead and try something.

if you pull up the design and hit the print screen button - you can then paste that into paint - erase everything but your design and you got a jpeg you can add or pm me and I will send you my email address and will do it for you
You are too much! I REALLY appreciate you taking the time to help me. I did as you suggested and I'm going to try and post my "creations." Of course, then I'll need all the help I can get. :rolleyes1

How do you get the design to print mirror image? Thanks for the help! All the designs are amazing. I'm going to be learning and hoping to post some designs soon.
