I know this has been asked and answered before but I can't find the answer now when I need it.
I started printing all of the great designs that I have gathered. I started with J & N's Mom's designs. When I printed them out, the words and the character (on the map designs) were in perfect focus but for some reason the maps are blurred now. On my computer they look great. Is there a trick to get them to print out in focus???
Help, I so badly want to make t-shirts now for trip that is still 2 months away!!!
I will be patient and wait until I hear from you all before I print anymore...

I did just learn photoimpact - I have never really done graphic design - but I have always been the unofficial designer for our family and friends - I can't let them see these designs or I may have to start designing everything!! :rotfl: I am also REALLY good on the computer! regardless of the program.

Oh....excellent...I know two little boys that are wearing the plane shirt on the trip down, and the Stitch shirt on their birthday...this one will be for our first day at the MK!!
Thanks Kate!!:)

I took a regular photo and pasted into a document
I went to effect, distort, crystal and glass and then just played around with the dimensions
do you have that part? you should see part of your photo in the sphere
I found that changing the circumference gave me the best effect
then when I was done - I erased the outside part of the picture that was not in the Bubble
Got the bubble - but can't work out how to erase - tried the magic erasor but it keeps saying I have a linked object...
EDITED: Never mind - I got in now :0)

Does anyone have any Mary Poppins clipart? I have looked on all the sites I have bookmarked, but I cant find any. I am doing shirts with each of our favorite characters and she is mine, but I cant find any clipart of her!! :guilty: Please help me!!
No go on the clip art but if you do a google image search on mary poppins quite a few pictures pop up that you might be able to use :http://images.google.co.uk/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLD%2CGGLD%3A2004-51%2CGGLD%3Aen&q=mary+poppins+

because my 30 day trial period with Photoshop CS2 is expiring in 3 days. I would NEVER have had this problem if it wasn't for this thread!!!! I had some fun, did some shirts, and now it will soon be over :guilty:
Oh, there's NO WAY I'm going to spend $$$$ for Photoshop CS2 - although I did look at ebay for an older version. Maybe Photoimpact? Maybe, but right now my heart is breaking. (you can't beat free, even if it was a limited time)

Okay, here is a picture of our Tie Dye project :)
We did all of them the same but my daughters did come out a bit lighter :(
I have to say that soaking them in the fixer water for an hour made all the difference in the colors being crisp and bright, as we did a shirt the next day without the fixer water, and did it on a dry shirt instead of a damp shirt and it didnt' turn out nearly as well. It looks very worn :(
So from experience, I prefer the following steps:
Pre-wash the shirt, I used a nice 100% cotton Gildan from Cheapestees.com
Dry the shirt and add rubber bands and sewn Mickey Head or multiple ones (I used a double strand of Glide Floss)
Soak in fixer water for 30 minutes to a few hours
Wring out the shirt, I placed mine in the washer on the spin cycle to get it barely damp
Mix dye at it's maximum brightness instuctions, we used professional dye.
Pull the shirts from the washer, lay out on cardboard with a layer of plastic garbage bags underneath.
Start with Mickey Heads (use a nice bright color that won't blend with your other colors, just squirt enough on the Mickey Head to bleed to the floss
Put a darker color around the base of the Mickey Head and Rubber bands so the Mickey Head sticks out :)
Place the dyed shirt in a large Ziplock over night (I left mine for a bit over 48 hours).
Rinse the shirt out with cool water, cut off the rubberbands and floss
Wash in the washer with only other dyed items, no soap. I washed mine twice.
Final product:

Those colors are awesome!!!! What dye did you use to get those?

Awhile back I think I saw Mickey dressed as a pirate, and he was standing on a treasure chest. Julia & Nick's Mom was that you???
If so, would I be able to bother you for that graphic??? We bought some black t-shirts and would like to put Pirate Mickey on the front of them in the upper left hand corner.

Hi everyone! I'm new at posting, long at lurking. So I hope I get this right. I've not been to wdw since 88 & it seems that lots has changed since then. Thanks to everyone for all the great tips I've read over the past couple of months!
Julia & Nick's mom, I have a request for a shirt if you are still taking them.
My friend & I are driving from Canton,TX to Orlando & will be there from Oct 8-15th. (Leaving dh, ds6 & ds3 at home :guilty: ) We'll be at MNSSHP on the 13th & the F & W Festival on the 14th.
I'm wondering if you might be able to create a design like this for the F & W Festival:
An Epcot logo with a car driving around it that has Daisy & Minnie in it (I've seen the art somewhere here, but I'm not able to locate it again.) And then the words "Mandy and Kara in a Girls Only Getaway". Then on the back, "Food & Wine Festival, October 2005".
Also, I love the "Beautiful Daisy" design you created & would like to use that for our MNSSHP shirt. I'd like to put something on the back like "Having a spooktacular time with the girls in the world". Can you tell me what font you used for the front so I can match it?
Thank you! :cheer2:

It's official, I am over the edge, I need help, I need the DDA (Disney Design Addicts) support group badly. Instead of doing homework, I am browsing these boards. If I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I check this board, I hit refresh every few minutes if I am doing something else on the computer. I left late for work and then thought of different ideas all the way to work. I come home and check this site, just to see what else is added. No, I tell myself, you will not go back on, you have enough ideas, you need to stay away. Do I listen to myself. Nope, here I am copying ideas and all the while thinking of new ones. Like wouldn't J&N's Mom DIsneyland ears look great as a WDW shirt? I betcha it would. :goodvibes
Anyway, a few ideas. I am a pin collecter. That's my passion, I wear two or three lanyards of traders at any one time. Well it dawned on me this morning that I was really only going to be able to wear one lanyard (and maybe none) as they would cover up my tshirt design. Now, what kind of sense does that make? :confused3 I am pin trader, not a shirt designer :earseek: Help, I need help
Now I am designing Cards to put at the bottom of my lanyards. I have one that Jazzy Jeff made me eons ago and it is falling apart. I have his design, all I need to do is print it, cut it out and laminate it. Well No, that's not good enough, I need a new design. & obviously one design isn't good enough, I need 3, no 4, no many, many designs so I can use all the cool designs and can change the cards every hour or so to satisfy the need to have all the designs. Why I will have the best designed lanyard cards of all the people at the pin trading event in September. I seriously need help, Oh No, I am sliding deeper and deeper into the Disney Designer Abyss. Can anyone out there help me????? :rolleyes1
One more tip to share - Since I am designing 6 shirts to take with me I am going to shrink them down and put all 6 of them on a transfer sheet and iron that on an old T shirt to see how they look. Then I can make any needed adjustments. I figure this will save me ruining a good t shirt and some transfer sheets. just an idea.
Take care and once again thanks to everyone for helping me with my addiction. :love1:

Those colors are awesome!!!! What dye did you use to get those?
I used a professional dye, it is called Procion Fiber Reactive Dye and I bought it from an Online company that mixed the Urea and Ludigol with it. It was all in a kit, the fixer mix for presoak, the dye and gloves. Mask, rubber bands and instructions. I just bought colors that were on the same side of the color spectrum so they'd all blend. I used hair color bottles from a beauty supply store to mix it and apply it.

Thanks Beiji, for the Mickeys for Halloween. :flower: I really like the stripped one!!!! :Pinkbounc :earseek:
I'm glad you like them!
Beiji - I love all of these - again your work is fabulous. Last night I was following the great directions on how you created the pastel mickey and have a question for you. I noticed in all of the above and in the prior ones that your "ears" seem pretty much at the same height/spacing on each side. Are your eyes just that good or is there a trick you can share that might help me?
Thanks! For most of the classic Mickeys I re-work the first Mickey I created. So, I change the color or add a bevel, gradient, or drop shadow. In order to get the ears in the right place I set up guides. I'll put in one guide at the top of the first Mickey ear and one at the side after I've put the ear in place. Then I copy the ear, drag it to the other side of the head, and use free transform to rotate it and move it into place using the guides to find the right placement. Even, with all that, I think one is slightly off, but it's not really noticeable.
In Photoshop, I always save my files with all the layers. If I need to flatten an image, I'll give it a different name. That way I can go back and manipulate the different elements whenever I want to.

Hi - all the addicts out there will find this funny (Hi, I'm Marti and I'm a Disney Design Addict). Every time my husband walked by my computer he complained because I'm on the t-shirt thread. Well, don't fall over, but guess who just walked by my computer and actually asked if somebody out there "in t-shirt land" could make him a t-shirt!!!!!!
We are vacation club members and he wondered if anybody has tried to do a t-shirt for the DVC. Is anybody up to the challenge?? I'm still rolling on the floor at his request!!! Once I stop laughing, I guess he's serious... so could somebody help me with either my laughing or the t-shirt (or both????)

I'm trying to become a DVC owner! We are trying to buy resale and we are in the waiting period hoping that Disney will approve the sale and let me buy!!! This is the worst 30 day waiting period! Luckily I have this great thread to keep me busy!! I downloaded PhotoImpact trial version last night! I saw somewhere earlier that someone had gotten some great rebates. Any idea if those rebates are still available?
Just an idea for a DVC shirt. We are buying Old Key West but, I suspect we will rarely ever stay there. So I would love to see a more generic DVC shirt. Something like, "going home" or "welcome home" or "I own a piece of the magic" or... you get the idea!!!

Thank you! :cheer2:
the font on the daisy shirt is called dadhand - you can download it here

I love your designs, but I love your funky lettering most. My program (Print Shop Deluxe) won't let me do anything but the font I pick. I can't jazz up my lettering. I am going to play around and see if it is hidden somewhere. thanks, Penny
But how do i make it look 3-D??

Our home resort is Beach Club Villas, but we ALWAYS stay at Old Key West... I know there is already one done for that. When we pull up to OKW, we must roll down the window and wait for the "Welcome Home" from the attendant or our stay is not perfect (according to hubby). I'm not that creative, but Welcome Home would be great in there somewhere.
Thanks in advance, and now my husband has started to become addicted... HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much! It's fantastical!

[QUOTE=chaoscent]It's official, I am over the edge, I need help, I need the DDA (Disney Design Addicts) support group badly. :goodvibes

That is so funny that you wold say that!! my DH and I always make fun of the Welcome Home - we just think it is a little cheesy -
on my last trip - my mom and I went without DH and when we pulled in the guard gate she didn't say "Welcome Home" - my mom and I turned to each other and said in unison "she didn't tell us welcome home!!!" I was cracking up laughing - as cheesy as I think it is - I LOVE to hear it!!

:love1:

J&N's Mom-I just finished a t-shirt transfer of your Toy Story 'My Birthday Adventure' design. I put it on a bright lime green shirt (what else? :) ) for my DNephew's 6th birthday 9/2 which falls during our Disney trip. Something is missing on it. Would you be willing to do a personalization after the fact? I will PM with details. Thanks!

I have a tip when it comes to the "white" around the transfer paper on t-shirts. I first didnt relize you would be able to see the paper outline around the t-shirts when you ironed them on. So being a perfectionist that i am, I realized that an exact o knife 9pardon spelliing) can be your best friend. I cut around everythin with the knife and PRESTO no more white residue around the iron-on.

Well Im finally getting ready to do my transfers (am washing the shirts b4 i start doing transfers) and I must say..when I went out to buy my transfer sheets I realised something....I needed the 4X6 size one for my neice seing as a letter sized sheet is bigger than her chest.....did anyone else have this problem ?
You can always print it on the 8 1/2 x 11 then cut it down. I just used scissors and it worked fine for me but someone else reported good luck with an exacto knife.

The transfer paper for "white and light" shirts shows a little on all colors. It is mostly transparent, but you can still see it if you look. The transfer paper for "dark or bright" colors is white, so you'll see white if you don't trim it down to the design.

As I'm working on putting my shirts together I have discovered a few things. I did notice that my Local BJ's had light or White T-shirt Transfer paper for $11.99 for a pack of 30. I don't remember the brand as I had already bought some at Joanne's. The Gartner Studios 10 pack of light transfer paper from Joanne's seems to iron on well, but leaves a yellowish (antiquish) look where ever the white should show through. I have used the other brand from Joanne's and it was much whiter on a white shirt. I used the Avery brand dark shirt Transfer sheets on all my dark shirts. They seem to work well, but if you are doing a design with pointed edges make sure you spend extra ironing time on each point. I did the October Surprise Dis design that OKWOODSMITH did for all of us going in October. It looks awesome on a lime green shirt, but I did have to reiron most of the points as they were starting to peel with the paper. We also could not find lime green sleeveless tops (muscle shirts) for my boys so we bought white ones at JcPenny and did a green tye dye on them. They also came out great and look awesome with the DIS design on them. I will post pictures later as we are heading for the pool. It's 95 degrees here.

We are celebrating our Mother's 60th Birthday in Disney World. It is her Dream for all of us to go to Disney together. So we all got together and are making her wish come true. Some us it will be thier first time WDW, but for me it will be my 15 including the 3 times I have been this year. :earsgirl:
My sister in law who is attending the fun in Disney is the true artist in the family. She posts on this site somewhere...We are trying to come up with ideas for a shirt for all of us to where so we can get a picture done.... :confused3 We need the help...!! The time is running out :hourglass
So any ideas...We are trying to come up with a slogan for the back of our shirts too with our favorite characters from Disney...
Your ideas would be great and I am searching this thread too for ideas.
Some of the shirts are awesome!!
Sounds like a really great trip! I don't have any ideas on T's but did you notice someone posted photos of their family wearing shirts (back in the 1st few pages...) and they had the foresight to wear matching shorts (ie all denim or all kahki...) and it really made the look complete. I'm sure the creative folks will have some ideas for you.

It is better to use transfer paper for "dark" shirts on grey t-shirts. I pretty much use the transfer paper for dark shirts for most everything except white shirts. The colors come out much brighter.

So if you use the dark transfer paper--do you cut out around the design then before you iron it on so that you don't then have all that white showing around the design so that it looks like a white piece of paper with a design on it stuck to a t-shirt???? Maybe I'm stupid but with the ones I got that seems like what I will have to do. :confused3

I haven't used mine yet but....if the colors are brighter on the 'dark' transfer paper, why not use them on the white shirts also?

Here is one I did one a white t-shirt using transfer paper for white/light colored shirts.

I will post one I did on a grey shirt using the transfer paper for dark shirts as soon as I take the pic. I originally did it on grey using the transfer paper for white/light colors and it was really bad and hard to see.
Also, yes I cut around the design I'm ironing on.

First let me say Thank you to everyone that has helped me on this thread!!! I've been sick all week and this has been the only thing keeping me going! Of course my DH says I would get better sooner if I would put the computer down.
First for Julia & Nick's Mom, I've started printing out all of my transfers and they look awesome. I decided to go with your 2nd "It's my birthday and all I want is the World shirt." The one with Mickey standing to the side. after I printed it out I noticed that it might me hard for the CM's to read the part about my birthday. Can you alter the type so that it stands out that it's my birthday!!!! Also can you put my name on there somewhere as well? (Jana) But, I am so proud of all of the designs that you have done for me!
I've been forcing all of my non DIS friends to look at the shirts and it has been very much like forceing them to watch old family videos. They just don't get it!!
Anyway, second request... We were in Disney in July and I looked everywhere for a good Donald Duck shirt. Donald is my DS's favorite character and we couldn't find a plain Donald shirt anywhere. If any of you have any Donald's can you see what you can do with him?? Maybe add DS's name (Alex) in it somewhere.
Somehow, I'm going to find a way to contribute to this great thread!!
Thanks To All and Keep Up The Good Work!

It says to use lightest color first, won't they bleed? And do you rubber band the shirt AFTER you dye Mickey or First? THANKS to anyone that can help.
Also looking for the Stitch design that says partying with cousins.....I have spend 45 minutes looking and can''t find it....DD is going with her cousin and I would love to make them one that says WDW....Partying with cousin! Assuming you have gathered the thread around the Mickey head - go ahead and rubberband the shirts as earlier instructed. If your using soda ash let your shirts soak...ring out...then simply squirt the color die you want on the Mickey head. Be sure to get inbetween all pleats very well (so the head is a solid color) and it is completely saturated.
We did not have any problems with colors bleeding (some bleeding is normal). We even started with the darkest color first - so I don't think it matters.
I hope it goes well. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me.

I bought photo impact because I wanted to be able to make erase/cut out the white part behind the clip art. for example, my eeyore pin, I want to erase the white back ground so I can put it on one of the Mickey Heads. Well I have tried everything. & Photoimpact keeps telling me to select an object. I looked up selecting an object in the help files and they were no help. the object is selected, Eeyore is sitting in photoimpact looking at me? can someone help me cut out eeyore so that there is nothing around him and I can put him in a Mickey head? Try this...open the levels on the right, is Eeyore listed as your background? If so, right click over where it says background (in levels), choose duplicate. In the duplicate (not the original, the duplicate should now be listed as an object) use the object magic eraser on the white part. It should disappear leaving only Eeyore. Sometimes it leaves bits and pieces and you have to use the regular eraser to clean it up. If this is not clear let me know and I will try to explain better. I hope this helps :)

I just came up with another Tye Dye tip. Being frugal as so many of us are I was noticing how much dye was ending up in the paper towels that I was throwing away. My solution was to take a dingy old white bath towel and tye dye on that (plastic underneath of course). Now I have 11 tye dye shirts and one cool tye dye towel. :rotfl: :rotfl: Everything is sitting in plastic bags until tomorrow. When they are all finished I will post pictures.

OK, so I'm like loving the crown ideas with the 'Princess' or 'Queen Mommy' or now the new 'King Daddy'-very clever. What would you do to coincide with that for a 14 year old boy, who almost is too cool for a crown, but would wear one on a tshirt if it was cool enough, if you know what I mean?
My girls and I and my husband would totally wear the crowns-I just have to think of a good one for my son!

Horner5, that is exactly what I was thinking...need something for the boy. Hmmm...would it be too weird if we all had shirts: queen mommy for me, king daddy for DH, Princess Madison for DD8, Prince Charlie (he's really a charles but I think that'd be a bit creepy...besides he answers to Charlie) for DS5? What font are you using for those Kate (do you mind if I call you Kate...julia&nicksmom can be a bit tedious....hmmm then again, I just typed it anyways).

I've had an idea in the back of my head, unfortunately I don't have the software to make it happen, but maybe someone else could. How about a crown with and X through it with the saying who wants to be a prince (or king), I want to be Walt so I can Rule the World.
What do you think? Will that work for the 15 yr old?

On a simular note: How about "I just can't wait to be King"...probably not cool enough for a 15 year old.
I'm going with my friend, her DH, her DS(15), and my DS(4). I'm making all of us ASMo T's but I doubt the 15 year old will wear his-but I'm making it anyways. Maybe he won't even notice it at 4:30 am when we leave for the airport. :earseek: Maybe I won't notice if he's got it on. :teeth:

This thread is really long and will take forever to hunt through so I'll just ask. Does anyone have a wedding or just married design they would like to share? Also how exactly does the iron on stuff work? Do I need a special printer or my regular inkjet? I'm clueless with crafty stuff.

Hi Folks,
I have over the last day read every page of this thread (all 180 pages! :earseek )
DH & I are off to WDW on the 19th October for our Aniversary trip( we have been together 16 years last week, but only just got round to getting married!)
I have come up with an idea for our T-shirts
" :earsboy: ct 98"
Tigger n Stitch
WDW 7 year "H"itch Tour - I want clipart of stitch ripping up or rubbing out the "H" so it reads 7 year itch....
What I would also love is Tigger wearing a set of minnie bridal ears
and stitch with mickeys top hat ears - can anyone work their magic?
Then on the back we are putting lots of funny quotes with the logos from the different parks things like "are we the grown ups yet?" and
"It's so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life" as well as a few nice ones like "I will not love you for the rest of your life, but for the rest of mine" and "If I had it to do over again...I would!"
So any other suggestions for quotes would be appreciated
I hope to put this all together on to a T-shirt, assuming i can get photoimpact to work - it has issues with my pc!
For the start of the trip i am after doing a T-shirt
I think someone posted a design of a "to do" list does anyone have a high res copy of it without characters on it?
Thanks for any help i can get

I am so glad you all liked them. I will explain best I can. It really isn't that hard.
Take the shirt and draw a mickey head in pencil, on the shirt. I made a pattern on papper first and then traced along the edge. You will then "sew" the pattern. Use a needle and thread. I got a waxed thread at Michaels to make sure it didn't take up the dye. Sew a 1/4" - 1/2" basting stitch along the pencil line. A basting stitch is a very simple stitch that goes up & down through the fabric. Only go through the front of the shirt if that is where you want the mickey to be. If you want it on front and back. Do each side separtely. After stitching along the complete line, knot it, and pull it tight, so the fabric gathers in a bunch. Make sure the inside of the Mickey is poking outward. Pleat the rest of the fabric, so that you have a long snake like tube. The more careful you are with pleating the fabric along the length of the shirt, the better the final result. Go easy, and take your time. Wrap a rubber band around the threaded bunch. The tighter the tie, the more defined the outline of the mickey will be. Place remaining rubber bands in 1"-2" intervals along the rest of the shirt. It is a little hard to explain, but when you are done you will have a long snake. One end is the mickey on front of shirt and the other end it the back mickey. Through the middle is the rest of shirt (arms, neck etc.).
I will be glad to answer and questions if I didn't explain it well enough.
I did one today and it came out great! :goodvibes I bought my kit at Walmart. I had a little trouble with the basting. First I used regular thread, that broke. Then I used dental floss-worked great. I used about 1/2" stitches. I did front and back sides together.
When I opened it up and rinsed it a discovered that some of the green ran into one of Mickeys ears and I wasn't really happy with the definition of the shape. I got out my Clorox bleach pen and bleached out the areas of green on the yellow head shape. At the same time I wrote September 2005 across the bottom. The bleach pen worked great. I wasn't sure how long to leave it on so I rinsed it after about 15 mins. and reapplied for 30 more. After I rinsed it out, I re-stitched the head shape using small (1/4") stitches. I re-soaked and then re-dyed just the yellow part. I worked great! :goodvibes I am very happy with it now and will do 2 more for myself and my DM. I noticed that the writing across the bottom (bleach pen) showed up even better after washing the shirt in the washer.
My DD5 loves hers and we'll all be wearing them in Sept. Look for us! :grouphug:
I can email pictures of the process if it'll help anyone, also the finished shirt (I might change the pix in signature, if I have a chance to the one with DD wearing shirt)

Well - 3 different people told me what I should do to erase the background around clip art that I have. Why did it take 3 people, because I am computer impaired. I try hard, but I just don't get it. So 3 different people helped me and I have managed to erase all of the gray and white around Eeyore. And he is sitting there looking at me so pretty.
BUT - now what do I do? he is looking at me, smiling pretty I might add, with a black moving line around the box? Now what do I do to be able to use him on a tshirt? what is my next step. Remember, I am computer impaired. so i need directions like go to the box that says ...... open the box that says..... and right click or left click or whatever it is I am supposed to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am going to leave photoimpact open until I figure out how to save it since it took me an hour to erase everything. I made 3 mistakes, but I am hoping they won't be that noticable on one the beautiful Mickey heads. Thanks, Penny

Now how's this for a challenge - DS5 is hoping to be tall enough to ride Rock 'n Rollercoaster this year. It looks like he'll be tall enough so how about a design with the R 'n R and something along the lines of finally being tall enough, hoping to be tall enough ...
I've been looking through the websites and of Midnite's and Julia and Nick's Mom and have 5 shirts picked out for our boys and now even DH wants a shirt! That's a shock to me because he has always been a fuddy-duddy stick-in-the-mud kinda guy. Guess I'm rubbing off on him

I'll try. first thing. Right click on eyeore (with the black line going around him) and select "Copy"
Next, go to the "Flie" tab at the top left and click it. Select "New" and then "New Image". Under "Canvas" click "Transparent" and under Image Size click "Standard". It should give you a black and white checkered page (indicating it's transparent). Right click on that page and select "paste". Now eyeore without the background should be there.
To save it as a clipart with no background, go again to "File" and choose "Save As". In file name put what you want to call the clipart. In the "Save As Type" choose "GIF" so it'll save without the background.
After that you should just be able to insert the clipart into whatever you want or designs you make.

I can now go to bed a happy woman for the first time in many nights. I did it. I now have a transparent Eeyore. I opened him the Print Shop, Cut around the large transparent, and made transparent box just around him and now he sits happily on my pin trader page. I will insert him into one of the great Mickey Heads tomorrow night. Now that I erase backgrounds, I am no longer inept or impaired (at least about this one small piece of my world) but I am still addicted.
& the little red boxes are going away and my smilies are coming back. Life doesn't get any better than this. :cool1:

Btw - funny story about being inept. I made 2 tshirts for two children who are leaving our school using the designs here. I made a new Jiminy one for one child who loves Jiminy. Printed the Jiminy with no problems. Well, it took my 3 tries to do the Princess one. First I printed the poster instead of the tshirt design (on the tshirt paper), then I printed the tshirt design and some of the words were cut off (I don't know how that happened except I made the tshirt in Print SHop 20 and sent it to work and printed it in Print Master (yeah, it was the computer's fault, bad computer :badpc: )
then I fixed it and somehow messed up the colors. When I printed it the 4th time, it was right. Well, we learn from our mistakes. :)

in photoimpact - you can make the letters 3D - this gives them the look you are talking about and then I usually do a gradient instead of one color

How about we make a tradition of putting a "lime green Mickey' on the sleeve of the shirts that are made here on the Dis.. Like the one in Mrs Squirrels Signature..."someone" with talent(read: NOT ME! ;) could make it...
Just a thought.....
J&M's Mom is correct. The Mickey on my sig is from Beiji. I downloaded one of Beiji's blank Mickey's (there have been several beautiful choices posted), then added the personalization in PhotoImpact. I am planning on having lime green Mickey's on my sleeve, luggage, hotel room window, stroller. . .anywhere I can think of. Others are doing it as well. . .so I guess great DIS minds all think alike! ::yes::

The only problem is that the design has started to crack a bit as the t-shirt stretched.
My Avery transfers stated that this might happen and to keep the enclosed tissue paper for doing touch-ups on your transfer. Just re-iron as you did when you first transfered the design. The directions said that this will correct minor cracks or edges that might begin to seperate.

How do you reverse the image for printing so that it will print ok? I saved pic but can't reverse it for printing?
Depending on your graphics program, you can either flip the image before you print or look for the option as you set up to print to do a mirror image. Can you give more info on what you are using?
The other option is the Avery Transfer Paper does not require that you print a design backwards. Which I like!

I'm sure that somewhere in the 184 pages that someone has asked this but...
I got my shirts in the mail today and my transfer paper yesturday. I bought hot peel paper for light shirts on Ebay.
Now, I'm in a panick state because it seems that either I'm just not skilled enough to iron these on or that you have to have a press to put them on.
HELP HELP HELP HELP
Is all of this paper a waste (not to mention the ink I used to print them!!)?
When I iron them the transfer goes on dark in some places and sketchy in others (most). It just looks bad! Please help!
Is there a way that I can use this paper and make it work? If not, which paper should I buy?
I'm so heartbroken because I have all of these wonderful designs that you all have been doing. And I have single-handedly made them all look terrible.

Hey - your t-shirt thread is getting some good Ideas!!!
anyway - did you iron on a hard surface - like your kitchen counter - this is where I usually have the best luck - if you did that
did you iron long enough and did you peel it before it cools? I would try to peel one after it had cooled just to see what happens -
maybe someone else has experience with that paper

J&N - I ironed on a hard flat desk. I ruined 3 shirts trying different ironing times and different ways of pulling the paper off. I think I'm just going to give in and order some of the avery paper. At least I know it works, I want my shirts to look as good as your designs look on the computer!
Do you think that I can put an "iron-on" on top of an "iron-on" of the same design and maybe salvage the shirts that I have ruined. If anyone has tried this already and failed miserably, please let me know so that I don't waste any more transfers.
I'll go check out the other thread, I had forgotten about it since I got my shirts in!
Thanks BTW - I love your 4 parks one!

I just wanted to say, I'm not ignoring anyone's PMs. Just so you know. I have 30+ requests for designs. I've been ultra busy with work and my daughter starting school again, but I think it's going to be slowing up a little. So, hopefully, I can make a dent in them soon. :)

About 3 years ago I found that when I used an off brand paper that I found on sale somewhere, it didn't work for me? Now I only use Avery paper. It's expensive, but it seems to work consistently.
If you are using a hot iron (no steam) on a hard, hard surface, and doing it for 2 - 3 minutes, you are doing everything right (and assuming that's what the directions say). Therefore I conclude it is not you but the paper. My next step would be to pick up a very big hammer and throttle the paper. It won't help the tshirts, but I bet it will make you feel better? good luck, Penny

I hate to keep taking up space on this thread repeating myself but.....there are sooooooo many talented people on this thread!!!
Thank you to all of them for sharing their designs.
We are going to WDW Dec 3-9. If anyone sees me in their shirt design.....just think of it as a compliment and I really didn't mean to wear YOUR shirt while you are on vacation also!!
The MVMCP old Santa.....I love that one but, promise I won't do that one and show up to MVMCP in matching shirts. But, I might stop you and say hello!!!
Feel free to wear the old Santa :) I'm not sure which design we will wear plus I would love to see others in it :flower:

I would agree that the PAPER is the culprit. I bought a dozen sheets of AVERY transfer paper last weekend for about $14--WELL WORTH IT !!!
I would just ditch the paper you have and buy new stuff.
GOOD LUCK :wizard:

OK, So I bought some Avery paper and will wait for it to come it. If anyone out there has a heat press machine and would like some free paper (probably about 25 sheets or so). I will be happy to ship it to you for the cost of shipping ($3)! I hate this paper but, if it will work for you, you are more than welcome to it. First person to PM me gets it.
To repeat an earlier question that I had, Do you think I can iron on an Avery transfer over one of these that I messed up? Or am I just asking for trouble?
Thanks for all the help, Maybe this is a way that I can Pay It Forward!
