Help! I have successfully downloaded MidNite's beautiful Pop Resort design into PhotoImpact and have sized it to fit on my 8.5X 11 transfer paper. Now, how do I flip it to print backwards. Under selection I choose all then under edit-rotate and flip-flip horizontally, but nothing happened! :badpc: There was a notation in the help that 3-D's could not be flipped. Is this why?

Go and at least hear what they have to say. Convince them they need YOU and show them how important you will be to their office. These days you have to sell yourself with all the competition out there. You never know......if they are really interested they could cover moving expense for you and provide you with a signing bonus. It is worth atleast checking it out.

Sending you PIXIE DUST.......... I BELIEVE !!!!!!!!!!
I agree! If nothing else it will give you valuble interview experience. But I think once they meet you they will offer you whatever it takes to get you!

Midnight-do you think you will be able to change your ASMo T to have the movies logo rather than the generic AS logo? If so I'll wait patiently otherwise I'll make the T as is because I do LOVE it but would hate to make those 5 Ts and then see the next day that you change it.

Thanks so much!

Well, I don't use PhotoImpact (use Microsoft Picture It! which is pretty simple...) but I save the design as a Jpeg then open it in my photo software and after I choose print there is a box that lets me "change printer settings" then I have to choose the "features" tab and choose mirror image. Good Luck! I've still got to wash all my shirts and was hoping to find a few more "blank" T's.

I don't have a website to post my tshirt designs to (and don't know how to create a web site either :confused3 ). So Julia & Nick's mom very kindly offered to post them for me. I had to save them as a jpeg (Which took me a while to figure out :badpc: ) and then I forwarded them onto her and she posted for me. If anyone would like the original, I did it in Print Shop Deluxe version 20, I would be glad to email it on without my information on it so you can adapt for yourself. If you don't have print shop, send me your information and I will adapt it for you and then send it on as a jpeg? Or we can ask someone on the boards :disrocks: to help us.

Now if I can only get the Hubby to go along with it. I am going to take a picutre of my cat (Chaos), my dog (Kismet) and DH (Jim) and put it on a t-shirt saying
I left the Cat home, I left the Dog home, I left the Husband home,
but I brought lots of pins for trading (with a picture of my pins).

I am going to WDW for the Pin Trading Event. Jim said "3 trips to WDW in one year, is 2 too many for me" so I am going by myself. Obviously, I am addicted and he isn't. :rotfl2:

Now if I can only get the 3 of them to cooperate for a picture. :rolleyes1

I feel so inspired. This is a great thread and you have all created some amazing designs. I've downloaded several designs and now have to figure out what to do and which ones to choose. I have several well loved t-shirts that have small spots on them. I really like them but haven't worn them because of the spots - this would be a great solution. Could I use them?

I'm thinking about doing some small transfers for the shoulder or pocket for my husband. He isn't one for wearing large designs on his ts.

Thanks again.

Vanyel..............My husband isn't into large designs on the front of his shirt either. For each of his shirts I am doing small Mickey Ears with his name underneath where a "polo" or "izod" logo would go and then the larger design on the back. He said he wouldn't have a problem wearing one that way.

For all you shirt designers going the week before Christmas, are you making short-sleeved tshirts, long-sleeved tshirts, or sweatshirts? I have all my designs picked out and am ready to make my shirts but I am afraid that if I make shorts ones it will be cold, and vice-versa. The last thing I want to have to do is put a jacket or sweatshirt over my beautiful designs that you all created. What do you think?

I am doing a combination as I figure I will need to wear layers! I am doing some on vest tops, some on t-shirts, some on long sleeved t-shirts and maybe a couple of sweaters. I have chosen 13 to make so far (our trip is for 2 weeks though)!!

I think I'm going to make short sleeve (we're going the first week in Dec), but buy them a little big. Then, if it's cold I can just layer a long sleeve shirt under it! I don't want to cover up the designs either.

Ok, I tried my first mickey tie dye last night and my Mickey isn't very pronounced. So what did I do wrong? I basted around the shape, then put the rubber band around the "pouch". When I was squirting the dye on I used a green dye for the Mickey, and I'm wondering if I should have used a different darker color next to the rubber band to outline the shape? I'm thinking about rebasting it and then just put a little more dye around the shape to see if that helps. I figure I can't wreck it, the t-shirts okay, I just needed to get more dye in the folds...live and learn...

Someone was asking about December weather. :sunny:
What to wear.
We were there December 2001.
Never went below 80's in the day.
Never below 60's @ night.
Brought jackets never used.
We stayed in t-shirts the entire trip.
You might want to pack a light jacket.
Just in case.
Great time to go.
WE loved all the Christmas decorations.
WDW is beautiful that time of year.
So go with t-shirts.

Help!
I have been saving all the wonderful designs to my computer with the plan to burn a disc. Last Wednesday lightning struck our house. We now have a hole the size of a dinner plate in the roof. We lost our main computer, an HP all-in-one machine, another HP fax, 9 cordless phones, 2 televisions, 1 DVD player, our stove, the DSL modem, a router, and all the info and saved sites on my hard-drive, including ALL the designs and web-sites for clip art.
Midnite, I lost the design you did for me for Sarah's BD surprize shirt. I think it might have been the first one you did. Also, are all of the generic (can be used by anyone - no names) still avalible somewhere?
Julia and Nick's Mom, are all of yours still on your site?
Does anyone have a complete listing of all the clipart sites?
Eventually I hope to comb back thru all the posts and see what I missed over the last 5 days and recapture various things but right now we are trying to get back in business. We own a small trucking company and there is alot of work to be done, we back up our work but had not been doing it everyday - that's a mistake I won't make again.
Thanks everyone for all the great designs and for any help you can give me. My DH is right about this not being as important as some of the other problems right now but it has been on my mind.

The last thing I want to have to do is put a jacket or sweatshirt over my beautiful designs that you all created. What do you think?

I just bought short sleeve also. I figure if it is in the 70s during the day, we will be in heaven because it should be about 40 at home. Nights might be the only time we need a jacket or something and I can deal with that.
I know the weather is unpredictable but that is what I have decided.

I have another comment on weather in December. I found a neat website called wunderground.com Type in orlando, FL then click on "trip planner." If you put in your dates it will give you the historical temperatures for the last 5 years and the percentage chance of a hot day/warm day/freezing day/rain. Its hard to take advice from other people about dressing simply b/c one person's warm can be another persons chilly. I'm from Florida so I find alot of temperatures that northerners consider shorts/tshirt weather equates to jeans and a light jacket for me. At least if you know the numerical temperature range you'll have a better idea of what your family finds comfortable. Though the days can be very summery it's always colder in the morning and at night so layering is probably best. :cold:

That is a great site!!! I love the info it gave me for the begining of December

0% chance of a hot day (90 degrees+)
96% chance of a warm day (60 degrees+)
and best of all
0% chance of a freezing day (temperature below 32 degrees)

OK - now I can make lots of t-shirts and 1 or 2 sweatshirts for chillier evenings :cheer2:

:grouphug: My gosh!! I'm sorry to hear all that happened! I hope no one got hurt.

Lori

Lori:

I would make sure that the stitching is really tight and that you also put the rubber band around it very tightly. Someone else used 2-3 rubber bands to make a white halo around Mickey. You might want to try that too. I wouldn't try to fix the shirt you have. I would consider it a learning experience and start with a fresh shirt.

Good luck!

I copied this from the Tech Support board Frequently Asked Questions--under 'how to post a photograph'--you can check them out if you need more help, I'm sure they could answer your questions. You should also test out your message before you try to post it--I can't remember where but they tell you on the Tech Support board where to go to do this.

This is from LisaTX on the thread:

You post a picture just like you do clipart. The short version is:

URL

Now for the longer version.

The picture must be stored on the internet first. You don't have to design a website, just upload your photo to a site. We have a free photo storage site right here on the DIS.

The DIS Photo Gallery

You'll log in there using the same name and password you use on the DIS. After you log in, click on the upload photos button and follow the instructions.

After you've uploaded your photo, click on your photo so that it opens in a new window. Right click on the photo, click on properties, then highlight and copy the URL. It should look something like this:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/da...worksCastle.jpg

Go to your user cp > edit profile> scroll down to the signature box, and then paste the URL where you would like it to appear in your signature. Be sure to type before the URL and after the URL. There can be no spaces, carriage returns or extra characters in there.

Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on submit modifications. If this is your first time to have a signature, you will need to click the Show Signature box and the bottom of the posting window next time you make a post.

As long as were talking about signatures, please make sure your signature complies with the DIS Signature Guidellines.

If you need any assistance posting photos or complying with the guidelines, please ask on the Tech Support Board. We can usually reduce the size of photos to meet the guidelines.

OH I love this one! Any chance you can provide some tips on how you did it using Photoshop? It's awesome :) . Sorry to hear about the stuff going on right now - hope it gets better!

Thanks!

First, put every element of the design on its own layer, and when trying out things like burning and dodging to put in highlights and shadows, copy your layer first, so you'll have a fresh one to work on if you totally mess it up.

I used a Mickey I had already created. Those I made using the Oval Marquee tool and Fill. Hold down shift while dragging to make a perfect circle for the head. Then Fill with the color of your choice. Then make one ear in an oval shape. Fill. Remember, everything goes on its own layer. Copy the ear layer for the second ear. Use the Free Transform tool to rotate the ears to the right angle. You can also click inside the box and drag to move while in Free Transform.

I made the highlights on Mickey using the Dodge tool. I kept looking at MidNite's chocolate brown one to check the light direction. I set the exposure pretty low and kept clicking until it looked right. It took some practice. Then I used the Burn tool to create the shadows. That required quite a bit of practice and patience also. Putting in the shadows and highlights was probably the hardest part of the whole thing. Even with a graphics tablet.

To make the reflection of Mickey, I copied the head layer w/out ears, and flipped it vertically. Dragged it so it's almost completely below Mickey but not quite. Then used the Dodge tool to erase down to amount reflection I wanted. Used the Burn tool to create more shadow at base of Mickey head (top of reflection).

I added the hearts on another layer, changed the opacity, and used the Dodge tool to erase some of them back to sort of match the reflection of the Mickey head.

I created the words on two separate layers and the big heart on another. I changed the opacity of the heart.

I think that's it! I probably told you more than you ever wanted to know! But if I left something out, please feel free to ask! Although I probably won't see any questions until tomorrow. I'm not one of those late night DISers. I'm one of the early morning ones!

Benjii- I liked your Friends of Walt design! Don't be sad... :goodvibes :goodvibes And the new one is very cool! I consider myself pretty well-versed in Photoshop, but I can't do that!

On a side note- I just noticed you're from Syracuse. I'm from Saratoga! I just had to get that out of my system. It makes me all excited that a DISer is relatively near me! Wow, I really DO need to get on the DIS less! :rotfl: :rotfl:

My husband and I lived outside of Balston Spa (Spae) many years ago,,,1970 and we really loved it,,,i worked in the mcdonalds and used to go the one guy who had really neat fish for aquariums and we really loved the one movie theater that showed old time movies,,,brings back a lot of good memories :goodvibes

Argh! I wasn't logged in so I lost my place!

There's a t-shirt design on post #583 (I think that may be around page 50) that I would like to try my hand at.

I need to edit out the original names and put in the names of my children. I tried to figure out how to erase but I end up with a yellow blob instead.

It's a blackboard and it says "Back to School (crossed out) Disney" or along those lines. Is it okay to scraplift it and can someone take out the names for me?

On another note - I can't believe how long this thread is! :earseek: I can't tear myself away though!

Okay, so you didn't like my Friends of Walt design.:sad1: How about this one? I absolutely love MidNite's 3D designs but can't spend the $$$ on Swift, so I tried to create something similar in Photoshop. This board is a great stress-buster! There's a lot of stuff going on right now that is hard to deal with and which I can't do much about, so I come here to relax. DISers rock! :cool1:

This design is amazing!! I just love it, you are truly an artist....ranking right up there with MidNite and the rest of the folks on this thread!!!

Also, I am so sorry you are having to deal with sad and serious stuff. But it is great that this thread is helping you de-stress! I will pray for you. Hopefully things will get better real soon. God Bless you and yours.

OH MY! I haven't looked at this thread in a few weeks (there was only about 30 pages then). It's taken me all weekend, but I've now read the entire thing. :faint: Thank you to all the artists who have provided me with an incredible amount of art for our next trip! The hard part will be trying to narrow down the choices. Maybe we'll just have to make our trip longer... Yeah, that would work! :cool1: You guys rock!

Oh, I love that bowing down thingy (technical term, that)! :rotfl: You all are being so nice. Even a compliment about Friends of Walt! Thanks for the good wishes and the nice comments!

MidNite, I take your words as High Praise! Even my husband, who thinks I'm crazy to do the Disney stuff, thought this design was nice. He said it looked like something for a baby's room.

But, I notice that the shadows are not really right on the body. I think I need to work on this some more. I'm a hopeless tweaker.

Lucyanna Girl, that's really scary. Thank goodness you weren't hurt worse.

Try here, ZW, Mickey Avenue (http://mickeyavenue.com/fonts/disney-fonts.html). I see they have two fonts for Pop, one for the logo and one for signage.

The website I was thinking of was a photographers look, many commented about the location, and some of the pics were black and white - one was with the Tower of Terror in black and white with clouds, prompting the comment that the effects are achieved with photoshop....

the pictures were stunning, not sure if they would be able to be printed out...

You all are so inspirational that I decided to try my hand at a few more shirts! I'll get my designs ready and later this week buy shirts and transfer paper! :cool1:

Does anybody recall who made the shirt with Pooh and Tigger in a wagon over the U.S. heading toward Florida that said along the lines of "Lookout here we come"? DS5 would look cute in that.

Last night DH & I tye dyed 2 Mickey Head shirts. The one I made for DS5 looks like a heart and he refuses to wear it even at home. The one DH made for DS10 is perfect! So ... DH will be doing another shirt tonight after work.

See this was what I was wondering about - the link I provided I was going to add from my computer, but the technology support says we should llink back to the website - which adds to their bandwith, that they pay for...

So I found a clipart website but they wont let you right click to save on your computer!! :confused3

Whew...I just found the DISboards last week. This was the first thread I started to read. It's taken me a week to get through it all! I love everything! I've saved so many to try to make some shirts or cards.
This will be my first trip as an adult and my daughter and husbands very first trip! I'm very excited! I'm going with my parents, brother and his family.

I LOVE the invitation to CRT! I'm definitely going to make cards to give to the three girls before we go there.

I have one request...I would like to make a cute shirt for the three girls to wear to breakfast at CRT. They are 9, 4 and 2. Anyone have any ideas?

whew!

I did it - all of my designs are on the website AND I am caught up on all designs (unless I missed something - let me know if I did!)

I will now work on the FAQ's for this thread!!

and of course I am still open for requests!

Ok, everyone can see that J&N's Mom clearly, I repeat clearly, says she is still open for requests. :cheer2: So here go my requests
1 - can you take off the celebration fit for a princess and WDW off the princess shirt? I want to use this shirt for a little girl I know who has developmental disabilities. she has made a few friends in her neighborhood. I thought if I made tshirts for all 4 of them, they might see she has something so special to offer. She is a lonely little girl as she has some physical deformities and most children shy away from her. So i really want to make all 4 of the shirts with the princesses, with no reference to Disney World. The green back ground one is just perfect as I bought pink shirts and the princesses will stand out beautifully.
2 - Thanks Walt (this one is for me) over the MK castle?
3 - the "It's my Birthday and all i want is the world with Mickey coming out of it. Can you take off the writing and have Figment or Dumbo or Jiminy or Tink coming out of the world?

I know I am asking for 3 things, but I am hoping since you are just deleting things, it won't take too, too long.

Thanks so very, very much. :bounce: :jumping1: :worship: :worship: :worship:

I was wondering if Baloo or the Dis is going to take a create a page of just designs, and tips, with no posting? Because some wonderful, extremely AWESOME other designs have also been posted... but I'm not sure if they are for general use also... (currently I'm thinking of Beiji - - but I know there were at least 3 others that were/are extremely talented and helpful too!!)

Showing my DD6 the father/daughter shirts, she said she wants an Ariel shirt. Have I missed them or has no one used Ariel in a design?? Or, have I just forgotten about one??

Can someone do one for her? We are going in Dec 2005. Her name is Kennedy but I would want to do a matching one for her sister (Morgan-23months) so the name on it isn't too important.

I absolutely love the Happy and Grumpy shirts.... very very clever. Are there any other clever ideas for a husband and wife to wear? Beside the "I'm Beauty, he's the Beast" that already sells in the parks. I thought the imaginations of all the creative people might be able to take off on this idea.

Lucyana,

We all send your our love. But by coming onto this site, just think of all the well-wishers that you have :grouphug:

I took a regular photo and pasted into a document

I went to effect, distort, crystal and glass and then just played around with the dimensions

do you have that part? you should see part of your photo in the sphere

I found that changing the circumference gave me the best effect

then when I was done - I erased the outside part of the picture that was not in the Bubble

OK, I admit it.....I have been a lurker since this thread started and have become addicted like the rest of you. Everyone is so talented in making these designs. I just love them. Thank-you!!!!!

For those of you using Photo Impact, I have a question. I have the chance to get the 8.5 version for free (using a rebate) and wanted to know what changes version 10 has over the 8.5? I'm not very versed in computers but figured I wouldn't know any better getting the 8.5 and then maybe upgrading to the version 10.

For anyone else interested....Office Max had the 8.5 version on clearance for $30 with a $30 rebate from the manufacturer. An upgrade to version 10 online is $34.99.

Ok. . .with the help of many wonderful people on this thread I have finally finished Phase I-which is to say my t-shirt design in PhotoImpact. Thank you all!!! :cloud9:

Phase II-Design to t-shirt. I bought the Avery Dark T transfer paper on the advice of several posts that it was quality (I like that you don't have to print your picture in mirror image-with this paper what you see is what you get). Read the directions. . .sort of. Decided not to print a test page even though it was suggested about 100 times-didn't want to waste ink. Well guess what?! It came out portrait instead of landscape :badpc: so I wasted not only ink, but a $2 transfer sheet!!!

Second attempt (after printing out a test sheet). Design successfully put to transfer paper. :cheer2: Iron is heated, pre-washed t is ironed, design is ironed onto t. . .and ironed. . .and ironed! Oops. . .in tiny print on the bottom of page one of the directions it says to remove the backing off the transfer paper before ironing. Missed that! Now up to $4 in transfer paper ruined!

Third attempt (thank goodness I didn't ruin t) was finally successful. :bounce: The moral of this story is:

1. Start with a practice t-shirt-you're probably going to need it!
2. Do not skip the test print page-the gods will make sure that you do not save ink!
3. Read all of the instructions-do not forget to remove the transfer paper backing before ironing!
4. No matter how tempted, do not begin iron-on project after midnight. It will be doomed to failure!

If you do the above. . .it's not hard at all. Will post pics when I am finished with all 10 shirts.

WOW oh WOW oh WOW!!

You guys are truly amazing. I have been working backwards through this thread and have found so many wonderful designs. Already I have awesome shirts for Halloween and for my birthday and I'm sure there are many more to follow. I have been inspired now and our entire wardrobe for our October trip will be DIS shirts all complete with their signature green Mickey on the sleeve (took me to around page 100 to figure that one out, but it's a great idea!)

You are all creative geniuses. This has become the most addictive and inspirational thread of all time. (Did I mention the Trick or Treat bags that I’m making for the entire family?) If you go back and take a look at some of the earlier posts you will find that you all have improved through the life of this thread! It’s amazing but somehow you thrive off one another. Each person has a good idea and then when you all work together it becomes a GREAT idea!

So, here is my challenge to each of you:
Have any of you ever played that game where someone starts to tell a story and then someone else picks up where they left off? Let’s make an official DIS Boards design that is one GREAT combination of all of your creative minds. So this is how this will work, I will start with a word, phrase, clipart, idea, ect, ect... Then whoever is next, just add on to what I started, then whoever is next add on to their idea, etc, etc…

Then, as all of you people who have these great software packages, start to get ideas of what DIS is coming up with, Design something, Post it, Everyone make comments and suggestions. Someone else post their idea of the design. After enough time the design will evolve into something that only DISers would have and there will be no mistaking it when we see each other in the parks!!!

So what do you think??

Here we go…

Hidden Mickey

Everyone have fun!!!

Hey Julia & Nicks Mom, I love the Birthday shirt that you designed for me and now I think I'm going to go with an entire map theme for that day. I love the Dumbo one for my son and the "So Little Time" one for my husband. I saw the "Searching for Uncle Donald" one and it is cute but, can you make one like that with Stitch and put the magnifying glass over the area where Stitch's Great Escape is? As for what it should say... anything to do with Stitch being loose in the Magic Kingdom or any other thing that you can think of!!

By the way, as I am making my way through this thread backwards, is it true that you only bought PhotoImpact less than 2 weeks ago!!! Wow! Were you doing graphic design before this?

I love all of your work and can't wait to see what you come up with next!!!

there are so few designs with him on (he's my favorite) that I like and this one is just perfect. :worship:
I love all of the castles, except the black & white, so whichever one you pick is fine. It is the characters at the bottom that I love and would love to match with a WDW castle. Again, thanks so much.

I am waiting to hear the answeres to the questions that others have posted about Photo Impact. i think i am going to have to buy it. :rolleyes1

Lucyanna girl - you have such a wonderful attitude toward life. I hope your insurance people start treating you nicer.

Mrs. Squirrel - I make non-Disney shirts for people for Christmas and Birthdays. I have been doing it for years. My best was one I did a few weeks ago. A photo collage of my girlfriends life over the last 30 years. I know I am supposed to do a test run, I have ruined many shirts by not doing that. Well, in my enthusiasm to finish the shirt I ironed it on upside down and couldn't find another shirt in my shirt box that was her size. :rotfl2:
I know better, and I still made the stupid mistake. :confused3 I did learn one trick about 6 months ago (Baloo & J&N - you might one to include this one). When you go to print your "test" shirt hit printing preferences in the print box and change it to "draft". It won't take as much ink to print and it will print faster. Now, the very important thing is you have to put it back to Normal or Best I didn't do that and wasted another transfer sheet. :badpc:
I started making tshirts as it was a "cheaper" gift to buy for my 10 staff, as well as home made and I love home made. Well, the way I do it, it isn't always cheaper. :rotfl2:
Thanks everyone for all of the wonderful ideas and for sharing your knowledge. Penny aka chaos cent :wave2:

Second attempt (after printing out a test sheet). Design successfully put to transfer paper. :cheer2: Iron is heated, pre-washed t is ironed, design is ironed onto t. . .and ironed. . .and ironed! Oops. . .in tiny print on the bottom of page one of the directions it says to remove the backing off the transfer paper before ironing. Missed that! Now up to $4 in transfer paper ruined!

I have used the transfer paper for light colored shirts many times, but I used the dark paper for the first time last week making a shirt for my father's birthday. Somehow I also missed the "remove the backing from the transfer paper" portion of the instructions the first time! Maybe they need to BOLD that for those of use that read too fast! :earboy2:

Glad you found us and welcome! This is the best thread, isn't it?! My DH (Dear Husband) and DS1 (Dear Son age 1) have never been either and we leave in three weeks! When are you going?

Yes! This is the best thread! Matter of fact, it's the only one I've read! :flower:
We will be there Sept 10-17!
I got the Disney Planning DVD. Hubby didn't think Tori should watch it. He said it should all be a surprise to her. I said maybe HE shouldn't watch it! :earsgirl:

Chrome64

Chrome - I think this is a great idea - but I think you should start another thread for it - This thread is already so long and confusing to so many - I am afraid this would bog it down even more -

why don't you start the new thread and post a link to it in here!

Chrome64

I did just learn photoimpact - I have never really done graphic design - but I have always been the unofficial designer for our family and friends - I can't let them see these designs or I may have to start designing everything!! :rotfl: I am also REALLY good on the computer! regardless of the program.

Does anyone know how to get the background off of a clipart? I had an idea to use a big Mickey, put balloons in his hand and write names or info about the trip on the balloons. I even found Mickey head balloons but when I put them together, the background goes over Mickey. Can you tell I don't know what I'm doing?! Yeah, I knew you could. Any help?

Ok all, I have started to put together some shirts. I need to go to the store to get dark transfer paper, but I thought I'd share my first tye dye shirt. I didn't want one big Mickey Head on them because I have so many transfers that I want use so I decided to put several smaller mickey heads on them. This is the first one I tried. I'll do more tonight. I think of them as my 'hidden mickey shirts'. I plan to add the 3d water mickey design that I posted to the front.

What program are you using?

In Paint Shop Pro there is an eraser tool that gives you the opition to delete the background or foreground. I zoom in on the clipart fairly close so I can see the difference between the background and the character. Then I use the eraser tool to delete what areas I don't want. I do change views a lot as I'm doing this because if you don't erase all the background you will see some spots on your background. :confused3 I hope that didn't confuse you or anyone else besides me. :rotfl2:

These shirts are wonderful!

Anyone have an online source for ordering plain shirts? I am having a hard time finding matching colors for my family in the sizes we need. TIA!

www.Cheapestees.com has lots to choose from. I really like the Gildan Ultra Heavyweight 100% cotton ones. They are comfy and hold up really well. Plus the colors seem to be brighter on them then other shirts I've done iron ons or tie dye/painting on.

I think of them as my 'hidden mickey shirts'.
Deb

That is what we did. I did one large Mickey on the front center and then 2 or 3 other Mickey's on the shoulder/back or bottom at an angle. That way I was assured atleast one or two 'good' Mickey heads LOL

Luckily all but 1 turned out, so each shirt has enough Mickey's to at some point be recognized as a 'hidden' Mickey. I'll upload some pictures later of one of mine :)

Awhile back I think I saw Mickey dressed as a pirate, and he was standing on a treasure chest. Julia & Nick's Mom was that you???

If so, would I be able to bother you for that graphic??? We bought some black t-shirts and would like to put Pirate Mickey on the front of them in the upper left hand corner.

Thanks!!! :flower:

Hi! :wave2:

I really like a lot of you guys tshirt ideas. :worship: I have two ideas for tshirt design for my families upcomming trip, and I am humbly requesting if anyone can help me put my ideas into picture form since at the moment, I am sans-good software to do such with. So any help would be much appreciated. :goodvibes

My first idea is : A take off of the "I *heart* NY " tshirt. The design I had in mind would say " I *heart* WDW " and would be in the same font/same basic design as the I *heart* NY shirt. On the back would say " The Goff/Emry 3rd annual Disney World Trip 2006"

The 2nd idea is rather elaborate-- It is a Star Wars-y themed shirt. The shirt itself would be black, and on the front it would just say "A long time ago in a theme park far, far away..........."

and on the back it would have " DISNEY WORLD" at the top, but the words would be arranged and in the same font as the "Star Wars" logo is. Then it would say under that " Trip III, Return of the Goff/Emry families"
and then underneath that would have written out like the begining of the Star wars movie where the words start out a certain size and change size progressivly " Vacation!!! It has been a year since the Goff/Emry families had a vacation in the city of Orlando in Florida. With Michigan being as cold as it is the families knew they had to return to Walt Disney World to thaw out and have fun. But with the hot Florida sun, long lines, and foot blisters maybe it will be a tough journey. May the force be with them. "

Okay, here is a picture of our Tie Dye project :)

We did all of them the same but my daughters did come out a bit lighter :(
I have to say that soaking them in the fixer water for an hour made all the difference in the colors being crisp and bright, as we did a shirt the next day without the fixer water, and did it on a dry shirt instead of a damp shirt and it didnt' turn out nearly as well. It looks very worn :(

So from experience, I prefer the following steps:

Pre-wash the shirt, I used a nice 100% cotton Gildan from Cheapestees.com
Dry the shirt and add rubber bands and sewn Mickey Head or multiple ones (I used a double strand of Glide Floss)
Soak in fixer water for 30 minutes to a few hours
Wring out the shirt, I placed mine in the washer on the spin cycle to get it barely damp
Mix dye at it's maximum brightness instuctions, we used professional dye.
Pull the shirts from the washer, lay out on cardboard with a layer of plastic garbage bags underneath.
Start with Mickey Heads (use a nice bright color that won't blend with your other colors, just squirt enough on the Mickey Head to bleed to the floss
Put a darker color around the base of the Mickey Head and Rubber bands so the Mickey Head sticks out :)
Place the dyed shirt in a large Ziplock over night (I left mine for a bit over 48 hours).
Rinse the shirt out with cool water, cut off the rubberbands and floss
Wash in the washer with only other dyed items, no soap. I washed mine twice.

Final product:

Here is a picture of the smaller Mickey Heads on the shirt (this one is on the back shoulder). Each shirt has one on the front/center and then I tried to put one more angled on the front hemline and 2 or 3 on the back (one large and 2 small...etc)

Beiji - I love all of these - again your work is fabulous. Last night I was following the great directions on how you created the pastel mickey and have a question for you.
