Speaing of the Pin series (1-9), I have located 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9 in the gift shops.

I just read above that #5 is given out if you create a character at a real Magic Kingdom park.

BUT, what I find interesting is that Pin #2 of that series cost me 250 credits, (or 10x what other pins generally run), and I also noticed that when I was looking through my inventory, the "Sell" button is disabled when I have Pin #2 selected.

In other news, when I click on the "Hidden Mickey Quest" curtain in VMK Central, it tells me I only have 48 HM's, but the game awarded me the 500 credit bonus and the Gold Oswald Pin for finding all 50, so I wouldn't trust that counter, as the game itself must get a true count of your Mickey's from something else.

DID I miss something? I don't think that this is even being discussed is it ????? I thought the codes you will receive at the Parks are for doing Quests not for buying souvies but if they are reading this thread it might be now ;)

What would be neat is playing cards like Animal Crossing does with codes for special items you have to buy the cards to get the codes. A pack of 10 cost about $4 that is reasonable I think.

Hmm,

I thought I read somewhere were some of the souvies contained codes to get an item for VMk in addition to th Quests. I can't seem to find abything to back me up on that point though.

I DO like the VMK trading cards idea, if they were sold either through disney.com or otherwise available through some other mass market source. Sure most of the cards would be worth common items, but just like other card games, every so many packs would contain something uncommon or even rare.

Considering the game is aimed at children, a VMK card game tie-in mght be a huge success.

The 'free' quests even worry me a little bit, I mean lets think about what percent of the games players have easy frequent access to the Magic Kingdom. I mean Disney could come up with codes for lucrative items, and release an item evey other month or so. Unless you live near the parks, keeping up with obtaining the codes might become very expensive. I do, however, realize that the true object of the game is to encourage you to visit a real Magic Kingdom park.

I think I read that, too, that there will be items to purchase in the park that will give you a "virtual souvineer" in the game as well. I would think it will be something along the lines of, you buy a hat in the park and then you get that hat to wear in VMK, but that's just a guess.

I believe pin #2 is the same pin that you get when you win at one of the mini-games. For the life of me, I can't remember which game right now.
But, that's why it costs more -- you have another option to get it (which is how I got it).

I was able to get all 50 hidden Mickeys. At one point, I thought the game was messing up, since I had 50 pictures, but will still missing two. Upon further review, I noted I had taken two situations where I took two pictures of the same mickey. I deleted the duplicates, then went on the quest again. Once I found the remaining ones, I had no problems taking the picture.

Apparently as of yesterday, if you go back to VMK central and click on the Hidden Mickey Quest screen, you can now see a chronological list of all the hidden mickeys you have found, along with their locations.

I am missing the hidden mickeys in Jungle Cruise and the wall in the music game. I have re-taken these photos many, many times and nothing is working. To make matters worse, my camera makes me save all photos now so I waste film each time I click. :guilty:

The VMK fan site is great, but it won't let me register for some reason. Not having much luck.

Beherenow... I am missing the mickeys in the music game room between the windows above the neon sign, the jungle cruise lobby on the gray wall and the shruken ned flag one even though they are in my catalog. I also noticed you can no longer cancel them. That stinks. I have retaken them all many times and now that I know it is these 3 I am "missing" i deleted and retook them, still doesn't work. Make sure you report it to VMK so they can try and fix it. I did and they told me its a bug and to be patient.

All day I was playing pirates and every time I would go back to the lobby I would get error. Does anyone else have that problem? How about when everyone in your group starts shooting and you get major lag? I hope they fix it for tomorrow. I don't even know how many games I won on level 2.

I'm having the same problem with the hidden Mickey in the Music Room! I keep taking it, and it never shows up in my list - arrgh!

Also - when I'm playing the fireworks game, the symbols on the bottom get stuck and won't change fast enough. Anybody else having that problem?

If you didn't already do this, make sure you go to Pirate's Treehouse -- I think he'll give you your doubloon pin and permission to play level 3.

To win all 30 games on POC, don't forget that all you need to do is be on a winning team. ;) There are lots of nice people that can help you learn as you go.

I spoke to a cast member about getting the last few hidden Mickey photos to show up. Their reply was that the programmers are aware of the problem and are working on it. She said that is why they call it a beta. Hopefully the Mickeys will show up soon.

I typed this up for a new thread on the CB about VMK, but I didn't remember a list on this thread that has locations of the hidden mickeys. I finally figured out which ones they hadn't "counted" after they included the Quest log of locations. This is a list of the ones I can remember:

Another way to get to the golden house show is to go to the Emporium, and get in the telporter, the train will take you to the Gold Horse shoe!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I can never position my boat the right way & get blasted.

1. Don't get kicked ;)
2. Play by yourself. The easiest way to win is to create your own game with one pirate ship on your team against two pirate ships, or play with someone on your team who knows how to win.
3. Play for the win, not necessarily to sink ships. Just make sure your team has more points than the other team.
4. Stay as far away from the enemy ships as possible, especially if you have lag. Fire a volley, then immediately run away. On many games the enemy pirates won't even move, even though they've been hit. You'll find places to park your ship and volley cannonballs in safety, where the enemy won't even move towards you.

There are three ways to ge to the Golden Horsehose.

1. The train teleporter in the Emporium
2. From the monorail (frontierland exit)
3. From the Frotierland entrance in the Castle Forecourt area.

The two mickeys in there are above the railing, top left hand corner, and upper center of the wall, left of the window.

Are you on dial-up or faster? What browser are you using?

Normally, I can't connect on a dial up, just way too slow, it doesn't work. I also have a hard time connecting using firefox, it just seems to spin way too much. Try using a different browser if you can.

They did not show up yesterday, but one showed up today without having to do it again. Knowing that, I took the last photo without deleting today and it was accepted. Keep trying!!! If your photo does not show up today, it might show up soon.

Is anyone else having trouble with the telporter in the Emporium that takes you to Ned's Store? I can't even step into the boat! And last night, I saw some one just standing inside the boat at Ned's place, but they didn't go any where. But I have seen people teleport from the boat in the Emporium. So I can't tell what is going on!!

Also, I can't even get on the teleporters in the Spell Room or in the Fireworks Game Lobby.

Do you need something to get in and use these teleporters? If yes. What!?

I have been on the last two nights. The only problems I have encountered (and one on each night) was after I had played awhile and checked my hidden Mickey photo log at VMK Central.
One these two occasions then the icons, typing portion, etc, would not link or do anything. That whole bar was dead.
I had to exit and re-enter.
The first night another guest came up to me and tried talking, and I couldn't. They even asked if I was mad at them! :rotfl:

I had DH sign up today and create his character in the real MK. I thought he got something extra for that, but I could not tell that he did.

I am looking forward to the MK trivia game that starts soon. I plan to do it a week from today. :goodvibes

Okay friends, I need help with the fireworks. I can't seem to get more than 195,000. I know you should wait until the firework almost fizzles because you get more points. Any other hints? I really want that pin and free room!

Hi,
I will try to help with some of the questions concerning the fireworks game.

I did get the third pin and free room. :teeth: I had to score 200,000 or over and come in second place at the end of the fifth round! So you need to be playing with someone who is good at the game too.

The bronze level, or first fireworks pin, is obtained by making it into the fourth level of the game, but then losing and not going on to the last round.
I just made sure I was in the fourth level and then didn't even shoot at any fireworks the whole round.

As far as being able to score 200,000 +, learn the order of the icons at the bottom so you don't have to look , and make sure you have a good mouse!
I can get over 200,000 most of the time on one computer we have, yet struggle to do it on another! Has to be the mouse. LOL Try to wait as long as you can to shoot, but yet you don't want to miss it either!

Here's an odd bug. I got all 50 mickeys a long time ago, with the Gold Oswald pin, before they changed the Hidden Mickey sign to list the mickeys.

When they added the Hidden Mickey sign to list the mickeys, I tried it and it said I had 50 (no surprise). Last night I tried again, and now it lists 49. It didn't take away my gold pin, but clearly the Hidden Mickey quest is still buggy.

Is anyone else having trouble with the telporter in the Emporium that takes you to Ned's Store? I can't even step into the boat! And last night, I saw some one just standing inside the boat at Ned's place, but they didn't go any where. But I have seen people teleport from the boat in the Emporium. So I can't tell what is going on!!

Also, I can't even get on the teleporters in the Spell Room or in the Fireworks Game Lobby.

Do you need something to get in and use these teleporters? If yes. What!?

Part of my 50 mystery is that on my VMK list they have "Hidden Mickey .0010" and "Hidden Mickey .0001" listed, rather than the usual descriptive location.

Luv2Roam.... I have the hidden Mickey .0010 as well. What I did was every so often I would go in and take a picture of the ones that the Disney Quest List said I didn't have. There were 3 of them that were not registering even though I had the pictures in my photo catalog. Well what I did yesterday was I went into my photo catalog and deleted all instances of the pictures the photo quest list didn't think I had. I then retook them and finally I got my pin and credits.

Has anyone seen the pirates room? It was really cool. It is owned by a user named Fusco. It looks like the inside of a pirate ship. He wouldn't tell how he got it, he just said it was for testing so I think maybe he is a cast member and it will be available later for purchase. I have over 4000 credits and I am going to save some for that room. It was really cool!

It took me a while to realize it, but I think it's just a preview for the magic pins. Seems too much like coincidence that the effects from the green goo include fireworks, turning invisible, dancing inferno, and a sparkling teleportation effect.

First, wear your pin. Then, click on the button at the bottom of the screen that looks like a magic wand, on the right half of the screen. Then double click on your magic pin icon. Congratulations! You are now a glowing green radioactive semi-invisible person!

Notice that when you click once on your magic pin icon, it lists the name of the pin and the "magic word". If someone who has the magic pin says the magic word (Spooky, for invisibility magic), that will activate the pin as well. It *IS* case sensitive, so "spooky" will not work.

Can't buy any magic pins, as far as I know, at this time.

The night before, I was trying to find all the Mickeys. I was writing them down as I found them just in case, I has some of the troubles that others where having, a.k.a...them not counting. Up till then, my list and their list was always the same, if it said I had found my 20th Mickey, I agreed, because that is what my list said as well.

So I find my 41st Mickey and the computer says its my 42nd. I check everything, my list, their list. But they say the same thing, same list. So last night I was finally able to get the time to finish finding them all! But if you ask me still think I only found 49 of them. Will have to check my hand written list again, against thiers again. And all the list that I copied from this thread.

But all in all I really had no troubles having the computer count my Mickeys. Never had to retake a picture of a Mickey, they all took on the first shot. I got them all, got my pins, my extra film and my 500 points. I am quite happy! :banana:

Now my next problem, I finally went to my room to place my lone piece of funiture, my photo book. I cliked on it an it says that I have no pics in it. Now during my quest for mickeys, I took some pics of the wrong thing...thinking that they were the hidden mickey. Shouldn't they along with the pics I took of the wrong thing be IN the photo book???

It is to show emotion, one is a smile and one is to show you are mad.
There is also a birthday had and a skull and cross bones.
They are listed when you click on the heart, where you can dance or wave.

New bug as of 2 days ago, affecting everyone. They must have corrupted their dictionary lookup table. The joys of beta testing. Hopefully they'll have it fixed by release.

Ok, so I hear that if you beat all 3 levels of the fireworks game you get the fireworks magic pin. I didn't get one yet and I have won all 3 levels. I reported it and they said there must be a bug and they were going to report it also. So hopefully soon I can at least get that pin.

I am hoping that info I have heard (from more than one person) is accurate.

I don't have the invisibility pin yet. I just wish the pirates game didn't take so long. 3 stages to beat one game and then having to beat 10 games for each level UGH!!!

Last night, Dis VMK'ers DoomCookie, mickeysmagic, mickeysfriend, Astryd, canadian, Carribbeanbel, Vellamint, and I (Bezoar), as well as others who my sleep-deprived brain has certainly forgotten (sorry!) got together on VMK and have started a little project.

When you are on, keep an eye out in the "friend's" or "popular" room lists for a room called the Dis Club Room. We're working out a method with teleporters that will allow access to a common room(s) via a Dis Lobby Teleporter Room(s), that will work even when the room owner is not on. If you see it, please drop by and find out more.

Two things that would be my preference, but certainly people may disagree:

1) I try not to be "exclusionary" and don't particularly like cliques, so I hope we don't get all snotty and exclude people who don't happen to be current Dis members. Maybe if we're nice to everyone, it'll bring them on over to check out the Dis! (I'm a newbie here, found the Dis only 2 months ago.)

2) DoomCookie has really generously volunteered one of her beautiful rooms to be our Dis Room (in comparison, I would have been ashamed to show you all my room). But I think it would be fun to rotate the Dis Room regularly, which will be relatively easy by just moving 1 teleporter. Likewise, if a single room starts getting too crowded, the Lobby Room(s) can eventually link to more than 1 club room, to spread us out a bit more?

And another thought:

3) the developers have warned that advertising external web sites will be frowned upon and possibly banned. If that's the case, we might need to remove the word "Dis" from the room descriptions, and possibly change to something like "Green" or something.

ITA with this, the first night we were in a DisRoom, I believe it was Mickeysmagic on VMK but im afraid I don't know what her Dis name is....since so many of us were in there, it was listed as a popular room (number 2 at one point!) so of course non Disers showed up, and if they realized we were a "group" they asked if they could stay and we said "but of course!"

I have a feeling we are a welcoming group and we wouldn't have a problem with newbies!

I would give my room as a club room, but it is very sparse right now...LOL Im trying to decorate it in Lime Green so it can be ready...as of right now I have 6 chairs, an aquarium and a few posters.

For my free room, I picked the Tiki Room but I really don't like it because there aren't many places to put things that you buy.

I do have a nice pair of black and red High Heel Shoe seats....LOL

After I get the hang of the game more, name my room and decorate it, I would gladly put a teleporter in there and entertain!

Another site has posted pictures of the three Quest Cards, and given a report -- it looks even better than people originally thought.

There will be at least an additional 30 items you can get by in-park quests.

To buy items you have to put them in your catalog.

Go to each of the stores:
VMK Central
Emporium
Golden Horseshoe
Shrunken Ned's
Star Traders
Small World Emports

When you get to a store, slick on the register. (In Star Traders, click on the Alien thing flying in the corner.) Then a windo will pop up and show you what that store has to sell. After you have gone to each of the stores and done this you will have a catalog of stuff that you can look at no matter where you are in the game.

Wen you are ready to buy somthing. Click on the "SHOP" button located at the bottom left of the screen. Then the catalog will pop up, you should have list for PINS, POSTERS, CLOTHES, and FURNITURE.

You can buy what ever you want. It does not matter what type of room you have. If you want to put something TIKI in a Wonderland room...GO FOR IT! It's you room!

Last night, Dis VMK'ers DoomCookie, mickeysmagic, mickeysfriend, Astryd, canadian, Carribbeanbel, Vellamint, and I (Bezoar), as well as others who my sleep-deprived brain has certainly forgotten (sorry!) got together on VMK and have started a little project.

When you are on, keep an eye out in the "friend's" or "popular" room lists for a room called the Dis Club Room. We're working out a method with teleporters that will allow access to a common room(s) via a Dis Lobby Teleporter Room(s), that will work even when the room owner is not on. If you see it, please drop by and find out more.

Two things that would be my preference, but certainly people may disagree:

1) I try not to be "exclusionary" and don't particularly like cliques, so I hope we don't get all snotty and exclude people who don't happen to be current Dis members. Maybe if we're nice to everyone, it'll bring them on over to check out the Dis! (I'm a newbie here, found the Dis only 2 months ago.)

2) DoomCookie has really generously volunteered one of her beautiful rooms to be our Dis Room (in comparison, I would have been ashamed to show you all my room). But I think it would be fun to rotate the Dis Room regularly, which will be relatively easy by just moving 1 teleporter. Likewise, if a single room starts getting too crowded, the Lobby Room(s) can eventually link to more than 1 club room, to spread us out a bit more?

And another thought:

3) the developers have warned that advertising external web sites will be frowned upon and possibly banned. If that's the case, we might need to remove the word "Dis" from the room descriptions, and possibly change to something like "Green" or something.

For people interested in how the VMK Dis Room Network functions, I wrote up the following in the wee hours of the morning. The very bottom has the nitty gritty of how to get your room hooked into the network. The hard part will be getting ME and YOU on VMK at the same time and place, so I can take a teleportation portal and install it in the Lobby.

REQUEST: please only get the coffin teleportation portals (at the Golden Horseshoe Mercantile), because they are smaller (can fit more in the lobby), and so the portals to shared rooms will be more obvious.

OK, now for how it all works:

Shared room / teleportation room network

Goal: as much as possible, to share a common room, even when that room's owner is not logged in


Method:

- one lobby room, which has a teleporter linking to a teleporter in the common room

- multiple players who each have 1 teleporter in their own room and 1 teleporter in the lobby room

- what this allows: even when the lobby room owner and/or common room owner are NOT logged in, someone who has a teleporter in their own room can get to the lobby, and then get to the common room

- when we want to change the common room, we can just move the single teleporter in the common room into a new common room; the rest of the network stays intact


Style:

- to cram as many personal room teleporters in the lobby room as possible, people should purchase coffin teleporters because they take up less space, and because then it will be clear that coffins transport to personal rooms and not to common rooms

- the lobby room teleporter into the common room is currently a tea cup, so it will stand out

- if we need more common rooms in the future, we could use the other non-coffin teleporters to link to additional common rooms

- if we need more lobby space for more personal teleporters, we could create more lobby rooms, and then link together the lobby rooms. Perhaps each lobby room could link to a different common room.


Caveats:

- if you provide a teleportation link from your room to the lobby, people will be able to backtrack into your room. If you don't want people to wander around in your room, rope off around the teleporter

- if you rope off the "normal" entrance to the COMMON room (not around the teleportation tea cup), and no one is in the lobby, it will be tedious to let people who don't have a personal lobby teleportation portal into the common room, because when they "go to" you, they will end up behind the ropes

- perhaps the common room should not be roped off, but that means lots of random people will drop in; this could be set depending on the common room owner's preference?


Nitty Gritty:

So you want to add a teleportation portal from your room to the Lobby Teleportation Room, for access to the common room(s)?

1) buy a coffin teleporter from the Golden Horseshoe Mercantile (500 credits)
2) place ONE of the pair of teleporters in your own room

I just started VMK yesterday. Guarantee that my dh hates me having started!

Anyway, I basically wandered and hunted for hidden mickeys, and then played fireworks. Just FINALLY reached level 2 on pirates (thanks to partners who were better than I was ;) ).

IU have also done the Jungle Cruise, but does that ever give points?

How do I get more points? I can only do the fireworks so many times, I will NEVER get better than 4th anyway. I want to get a coffin transporter too, just need to know what I am missing!

They must have been having some troubles tonight. I was kicked out a good 5 times tonight between the hours of 10pm and 1am. VERY ANNOYING!!

Even when I went to my room to put my water tank back in its place I would get the error box, tried to do that 3 times. Just keep shuting down!

Then when I would try to play Fireworks, it would just kick me out, I was never able to play. But that has been happening to be alot. I think I have only been able to play that game twice. And even then I would get kicked out of the game before the second level would start.

Then during the Jungle Cruise, my boat would be moving along...but no animal. Not even the little puff of clouds to show you where they were suppost to be. But at least I got the 20 points for "playing."

Yes, it was a very bad night on VMK. :(

Would it be possible to remove the ropes from the lobby/shared room, or at least make the entrance wider? Last night, I tried to get in, but there was a character blocking the entrance. Her character was there, but she clearly wasn't. Many people stopped by, but couldn't enter the room, and the site owner was not there to boot her.

Otherwise, I like this idea. I have nothing going on in my rooms, so I like the idea of volunteering for this cause.

I haven't had that particular problem, but VMK is definitely buggy. Whenever I get an error that repeats itself, I simply restart my machine, and then everything works fine, for a while. If you haven't tried rebooting, I would give it a shot.

I think I was there too when that one character wouldn't move, and then later I tried again but the ropes were up so I couldn't get into the room to go into the teleporters.

I didn't have anyone on my friends list that was on at the time to go into their room to teleport to the lobby, so I was out of luck!

Once I get enough credits I can teleport through my own room...but im about 225 short right now, I should get them tonight when I play some games and click on the characters (Yenti, Ned etc..)

But 3 - 4 times I had residual screen pop ups that would not go away without me closing out VMK and re-entering.
I was hung up a few times in the pirates game and just had to leave on my own.

Hi all, back again.

Last night was a bit of a zoo in the "lobby" room. I'm sure that when the "intrigue" factor dies down, it should be easier to get around.

Some observations:

- original idea was to have just 1 room (the "Club House" so to speak, currently donated by DoomCookie) for us to have a place to hang out. All the coffin teleporters were originally supposed to just be a MEANS to GET to the Club House via the Lobby.

- however, both us Dis folks and the VMK community at large seem to find it really interesting to use the coffin teleporters to check out everyone's rooms :) which is kind of neat

- the Lobby was meant to just be a hub to get to the hangout room; it wasn't meant for large gatherings. When a large number of people were in the Lobby last night, it prevented people from entering it, which defeated the purpose of using it to get to our hangout room

I've already mentioned before that my preference was to keep things as open access as possible to everyone (Dis or non-Dis). On the other hand, it's fun to be able to know there's a place where I might be able to find Dis folks.

What would people prefer? A real lock-down, so that only Dis people have personal teleporters into an otherwise completely locked down Lobby, so it won't get crowded? (I'd sort of rather not -- I have non-Dis "friends" on VMK too.)

A completely open Lobby, at the risk of getting the Lobby mobbed and un-enterable? (This might improve once there are so many coffins in the room that it's no longer a pleasant place to stay and people will be vacating the room more quickly.)

I think the "other ends" of the teleporters from the Lobby belong to you all, so it's completely your choice how much you want to rope it off. DoomCookie roped off the "official" club hangout room so that entry was only by teleporter (not by "go to" via the Room menus), which made it more usable as a Dis-only hangout room.

Also, although the original idea was a Dis network of rooms, what if a non-Dis "friend" of mine on VMK asks to place a teleporter in the Lobby? Would you all like me to turn them down? Or can I just place teleporters in to all nice people who ask me?

Does anyone else wish there were a compact teleporter that was NOT a coffin, so they wouldn't keep on feeling the urge to cackle "I vant to suck your bloo-ooood", or flee sunlight and garlic?

I think I know who you are talking about, and alot of us had the same problem...sending us messages and not letting you leave their room once you stopped in. I took her off my list already.

I certainly don't mind if there are non Disers present, there will be im sure because when alot of us get into the rooms they are going to pop up as being popular.

I think it can be up to the room owners discretion on if they want to rope off the main entrance and just let people go through the teleporter, but then of course those that might be following another DISer via the friends list will end up in the roped off section and not able to get in unless the owner removes the rope for them.

Ohh such things I have to worry about, I wish all my problems were like this...lol
