BTW, does anyone know how to get a Magical pin, or whatever it's called, so that you can do magic spells? How about costumes?

I'm SouthernBelle (game name - I'm from Georgia originally.) I was wondering where you went. You just disappeared! :earseek: I finally got onto the Monorail and found the HM, but I couldn't get off in Fantasyland like I wanted to :rolleyes: ; I got off in Tomorrowland.

This game is so cool! I hope they add more things as they go along, like more games for different rides. The possibilities are endless! :cool1:

I'm using one too, and managed to play fireworks with a single button mouse. I'm kind of awful at it though. Luckily, one game, everyone else must have dropped out -- that's the only way I managed to get the top score and the castle pin :)

What happened when you tried playing? Did the aiming cursor show up? Did it change if you pressed the left and right arrow keys?

If you go into vmk central and click on the mickey curtain on the stage, it will give you your official mickey count.

Ok, I had the short Mickey thing too. I started at Town square and started taking pictures again of all the Mickeys I found. If the gold Mickey didn't pop up at the bottom when I took the picture I canceled it and went on. I got to adventureland and did the same thing and one eventually popped up as a gold mickey at the bottom. I kept going until I got my little pop up email saying I had found all 50 Mickeys.

As for the magic pin, a cast member said they were not available yet. I have 2 rooms now and finished one of them and working on the second one. I do well in the fireworks game although I still haven't broke 200,000 points yet to get the next level pin. I only have one win on the pirates game, I stink at that one, and you need 10 wins to get a pin. I have only done the jungle cruise game once or twice but need to do that again too.

I had all 50 hidden mickey's but it had only said I had 48. I started going back re-taking all my photos starting in Town Square, looking for any that still showed the mickey icon in the bottom right corner. Got to the Castle Forcourt and the one there showed the mickey icon, so I re-took the photo. As soon as I took the photo I opened up my camera to take a photo again and re-checked the hidden mickey I had just taken. The camera still showed that I had not taken the photo (had same number of film left) and the mickey icon was still there. I had to keep taking the photo over (around 10 or so times) until it finally took. I then went back to VMK Central to check that it registered in my counter. It then said that I had all 50, I never ended up having to look for the other one that didn't register. :confused3 That's ok though, I was happy to have it show all 50. :cool1:

So, for anyone that is going back to re-check the hidden mickeys, if you find one still showing the mickey icon don't assume when you re-take the photo that it will register. You may have to keep taking it.

Hi, Other Mac User! :wave: I love my Mac, although sometimes it does present problems, such as this one (maybe, or maybe it's just me!).

Yes, the aiming cursor showed up, and it did change if I pressed the left and right arrow keys. But I guess it never actually shot the firework, because I ended up with zero points. I was putting the cursor somewhere in the sky and clicking the mouse. Is that what you're supposed to do, or is it something else? I tried single-clicking and then I tried double-clicking.

And pumpkinfish, Hi! I tried guessing your name and I had turkeyshark! But of course it wouldn't let me even type those in, so I couldn't ask. :rolleyes: I probably won't be on until sometime later today. Once I log in it's hard to stop!

Ahh, the hard part :) You have to have the correct cursor AND click right on top of the firework being shot up. The higher it is when you click on it, the more points, but if you wait too long, it just fizzles out.

It gets really hard when there are 6-7 different fireworks types to select between, and you are trying to switch to the right one and click on the firework before it's too late. I end up just clicking wildly, so have no idea whether it's a single or double click.

If you are the top scorer in the group playing, you get a Fantasyland castle pin that normally costs 250 credits, as well as, 500 credits (I think).

Oh, wow, thank you, I didn't understand this game at all! :rotfl: Now I can try to play it. I might have to go ahead and log in now! Up to now I've done the Jungle Cruise game mostly. I usually get 2 or 3 thousand points, but I've never gotten more than the 20 credits you get for playing. I tried to play the Pirates game, but right when it was starting it booted me out. I'll have to try that again, too. I made a song in the Street Party game, but it took me forever to figure out how to play it. It was pretty good, IMO. :smooth:

I haven't noticed any yet, but you should know that to register, Disney itself will ask for you name / phone # / address, so I would expect more mail from the mouse. For most people, I guess that would be junk mail. For us? ;)

Thanks to whoever gave the website. My daughter and I LOVE this game! We're just getting started. Our hints: Go to VMK central and buy a camera for the hidden Mickey's. Talk to Esmeralda say "Wait" that's the magic word. Click on skull in cauldron in spell room to do stairs. That's all we've discovered so far. LOVE this game. Look for Natbat(That's us).

I did finally manage to play the fireworks game after the great instruction here :banana: (even though I stink at it!), but I still haven't been able to get into the Pirates game. I join a team, and then when there's four on each team the game starts, and it says it's waiting for all members to join the game, but then it kicks me out of the game. It puts me back into the lobby, and this last time it kicked me completely out of the game. Has anything like that happened to anybody else?

I'm ok with the pictures, except for one. When I'm in the Snow White Hide & Seek forest, I try to take a picture of the HM on the tree over the tunnel. It shows up on the picture, but I don't get a gold Mickey emblem on the picture, so I don't think it's counting it. So I've never kept one of them. I've tried a ton of times, with the Mickey in different spots, but never get the gold Mickey. :confused3

But when I took a picture in the fireworks lobby, the HM on the right, I couldn't really see it, and it didn't show up in my picture, but I got the gold Mickey! :earboy2:

Some people have said that adjusting the contrast and brightness on your monitor helps. The mickeys are always faint / lighter than the background.

What is scary when you start walking around in real life and think you see Mickeys... :crazy:

Could it be that you have already "officially" captured that Mickey? After you get a Mickey logged, the gold emblem doesn't show up any more.

Oh, and it's kinda scary, but my little character in the game really looks like me! My mom even thinks so! Except that I don't have a Goofy hat. But really, if someone were to make a cute little cartoon version of me, I'm not sure they could do any better!

Does any one else have a problem in jungle cruise?
When I get to the explorers camp - I think for the third time - my boat disappears - I can still hear it but can't see it. Even though I have film & gas left I don't appear again so I can't move on and I can't use all the photos I have left.
Does this happen to anyone else? I tried to ask people in the game but they did not get what I meant and said you must have ran out of gas!

Firewords: what is the 3rd pin you can get, other than Fireworks Level 2 and the castle pin?

Jungle cruise: do you get anything other than credits (and the poster the first time you play)

Pirates: do you get anything after the level 2 doubloon?

Has anyone else seen the Pirate? I saw a guy wearing a pirate hat and a black pirate shirt. His name was "Baby"! I asked him were he got the hat and he just said "I'm a pirate". :confused3 Someone else in the area also tried talking to him and just replied with "arg" and left!

whats the easiest way to figure what mickeys I am missing. It shows me with 45. If it is in my photo album does that mean it counts? When I click one in the dungeon it never gives me a gold mickey but it is in my album.

It's a pretty well organized fansite with some useful info. It tells how to play the game in fullscreen, and there are also comments from someone who claims to be in the know about future developments.

There's nothing super great, like more secret codes or new magic spells. That's what I really want, and more games.

I can't get it to work on my Mac, but we have a PC laptop, so all is not lost. I get the error message in the Pirate game, usually as you are going into the lobby, which is annoying. Plus sometimes the button bar at the bottom doesn't work.

I'm also visiting VMK using a Mac successfully. Configuration is a powerbook G4 with OS 10.3.8, running Safari. Also worked on 10.3.7 on a desktop G5.

The first time I tried it on the deskop, it didn't work until I reinstalled Shockwave.

Currently, I'm getting occasional quits exiting the pirates game, but on the VMK fan site, apparently PC users are getting the same thing.

I've found 30-something HMs. Obviously I'm in no big hurry. But I noticed after I had about 25 that one of them hadn't counted. So last night I looked through the pictures and saw one where the HM was yellow/gold instead of white. I deleted it and re-took it, and...geez, now I can't even remember what happened. How stupid is that? It's my own story! :rotfl: Anyway, I either got it to take properly or I didn't (I'm thinking that I probably didn't), but I at least know which one it was. Which was my point, if you're having a problem with some of them not counting, look through your pictures and see if any of them look different from the others.

For me, the two that have given me problems were the one in the Emporium over the Esmerelda sign (the one from last night), and the one in Snow White's forest on the tree in the upper left that I still haven't been able to get to work. I've taken it a million times! So if I get up to the end and I still have the ones that won't work, I guess I'll have to e-mail Disney somehow about it.

Oh, and a question. I see so many people talking where they'll say something and there will be a word or two or three that shows up as ###. Are you putting those in yourself (it won't let me use the #), or does it show up that way when you type certain words? I'm asking because when there's a word I can't use, it shows up in red and I can't enter my line until I change or delete it. So I don't get the ###, because it doesn't let me use those words to begin with. How does it work with you guys?

If you type the "banned" words, they turn red. If you hit enter a couple of times, eventually it will post what you said, and the banned words will appear as ### at first I thought the number of #s was the number of letters, but it always seems to be three.

Maleficent2 ... you may have to go through all of the Mickey's once more and retake them . Cancle out the ones that do not show the golden mickey in the bottom right corner and save the ones that do. I had that happen with one and it was a pain trying to figure out which one it was, but worth it in the end!

I know I know where all 50 are because i have shown my son, daughter and husband on their games and they all have all 50 but it will only register 47 of mine even though I have 50 pictures taken. I have done as you suggested and gone through and retook them all and then cancelled the picture if the 2nd gold mickey didn't pop up in the right hand corner 4 different times but I still ony have 47. It is so fustrating. I want my 500 credits and my pin.

In case anyone didn't know, the first magic pin is available.

If you've beaten pirates at level 3, I assume 10 times, check in your pin list. You'll find a level 3 gold doubloon, as well as... INVISIBILITY MAGIC!

It's fun. Now I can be a weird looking green guy in a green D shirt who can glow green and disappear. What a freak I am.

Now if only I wasn't so awful at Fireworks. I'll never get that 2nd pin...

(BTW, read on another site that to get the 2nd fireworks pin, you have to get >200,000 points, but still LOSE to someone else. Sheez, I need to somehow get >200k, and then still need to lose?!?)

It really helps to play with a partner! LoriR (mickeysmagic on VMK) partnered with me so I could beat level 3 and get my pin. Thanks again Lori! :wave2: You really were a big help. If I wasn't working today and then going out tonight I would help you. Maybe if you haven't done well by Monday I will be able to partner up with you!

I think it is easier with 2 people, but takes longer with more than 2. Does that make sense? Lori and I discovered that last night when we were playing. I do like the game now (REALLY didn't like it at first), since I can play with friends.

Hi. This is the only game I am moderately decent with. Some pointers:

- agree that 2 humans vs. 2 computer ships is fastest / easiest way. but, I got most of my lvl 3 wins with me/computer vs. 2 computer ships because I just wanted to rack up the 10 wins, and no one else was around

- remember that the dangerous parts of the ships are the sides; the front and back are harmless. So, your goal in maneuvering should be to get it so that the SIDE of your ship faces the FRONT/BACK of the other ship. You can hurt them; they can't touch you. I believe in old naval terminology, this was called "Crossing the T."

- do NOT charge right in. in an even match, both of you will get sunk

- do lots of long distance sniper shots; computer doesn't seem to try to change course to evade much

- if running low on ammo or health, don't keep on fighting; run away and collect the goodies; you have plenty of time, and you don't NEED to sink the other team's ships to get more points and win

- lately, I've taken to just unloading my entire magazine at a distance at the start of the game, and then waiting for cannon refills to appear; I take no damage, and collect a few points and maybe even sink a ship

Do you have the gold pin? I can't figure out how to get it. I thought maybe it was to score over 200,000 but I did that and no pin. Do you have to win a certain number of games?

Nevermind, I got the pin. As someone said earlier, you have to get 200,000 points and lose - go figure.

1. Sorry for the slowness, the game is currentlly designed for broadband. Not sure that is much help...sorry

2. Yes, keep your eyes open there is aready a code released!!

3. There are "real" prizes that can be won from the in park (Disneyworld & Disneyland) quests. Perhaps you can get a pin....

4. You will have to ask again once the game has launched...sorry!

I'm trying to get in too and get the same message. Played some this afternoon, then my daughters found out and I had to share the computer. I was hoping to play a while uninterrupted since they are in bed!

I'm so glad it wasn't just me. LOL I finally read through the thread and figured out where to get a camera and now I can't even get in to get one. DH looked over and saw the screen the one time I was in and all he had to say was "oh, no...." :rotfl: I think he sees an addiction in the making.

hopefully it will be fixed by tomorrow.......I finally am up to 45 HM after taking them all over for the 3rd time.

The developer knows about the HM glitch and says to just keep taking them over eventually they will register...easy for him to say it is not eating up his credits! :rotfl:

Is there a way to change the name of your own room? When I first created my room, I named it 'My room'. Now that I understand more about the rooms, I would like to change it. I know I could create a brand new room, but that 500 credits could buy some cool furniture.

You can teleport, which you can do from the Emporium, or ride the monorail (I think; long time since I've done the monorail).

You can get to the Tomorrowland store from central plaza. Since it is the only thing open in Tomorrowland, when you walk there you get to the store.

Well, I am happy to say that I got my magic pin for winning 10 games at level 3 in pirates....now I just have one question--how do I use it?

click on the magic wand and then click on your pin

If you set up a character at WDW or Disneyland you get 3 things :


1. the Disneyland Pin 5/9
2. Mickeyears
3. you get a VMK logo and the tag Born at WDW

Hopefully I will be able to get on there tonight after DS goes to bed. He will not go to sleep if he knows I am playing the game ;) He is mystified that there is a Disney game for the computer.
