Really cheap travel laundry detergent

I have found what I believe to be the absolute cheapest travel laundry detergent on the face of the planet. I went to the Sav-a-lot grocery store that just opened in my town and they were selling one time use packets of some off brand laundry detergent for 20 cents each! 20 cents! Each package is about the size of a CD case and would fit in a suitcase like a dream. I am really cheap hugh? :rotfl2:

I think I may be even cheeper! ALDI had free samples of their brand of detergent for the past six weeks I've taken the free sample and packed it for vacation!

Actually, the least expensive way is to get Ziploc sandwich bags and put a measure of detergent in each. Seal carefully after pressding down to remove air. You can also use them for dryer sheets and dry bleach. Then put them all in a larger (freeze bag. press out the air and seal that.

I know I've read of people having their luggage searched due to white powder in their bags that was actually detergent. That's why I've always taken Wisk tablets in the past (don't think they make them anymore...).

Today I bought two travel bottles of "Tide to Go" at Target -- they were .99 each and I had .50 off coupons, so they ended up being .49. :) I was wishing I had more than 2 coupons!! ;)

Do you know if any of this stuff is soled "free" of dyes, scents and such.

I'm allergic to that "pretty" smell in all of the detergents. Makes laundry smell like heaven to most people--but for me....itchies itchies itchies.

Thats what I do except for the dry bleach-I used a bleach pen. Then I put it in a box with other stuff (pop-up hamper extra clothes, diapers, presoaped dish cloths, glow braceltes...) that I mail to the resort. That way I can pack and won't have my luggage searched for white powder. Its hard enough to keep track of 3 small kids, car seat, stroller....need to pack as light as possible.
