Are pens/pencils allowed on airlines (carry on)? Back in 2002, they weren't, but was hoping that changed. Any input?

I've flown several times since 2001... and have never been stopped for a pen or pencil.

We flew out of Boston last year & my son had pens & pencils in his backpack.
They never said anything. :cool1:

No problem with us these past few years. But with all the electronic gadgets, their is little need for pens and pencils.

Well, like a lot of us on here, I, too, am a trip reporter, so I would like to bring my favorite pen with me, so I can record everything that went on down in Florida. It would be the most economical and easiest way to record the day's activities. I thought about bringing my mini tape recorder, but I don't want to buy a million tapes for the trip. Thanks guys.

it didn't list it on the sign of items not allowed. But just so you know, your chain saw DOES have to stay at home!
