'K I started looking and only went to David's bridal. I couldn't find anything that I liked at all. I am not a tiny girl, but nothing thrilled me.

I also didn't see any dresses that I liked at David's Bridal. I ended up getting a Maggie Sottero gown from a local bridal shop.

After looking through all the bridal magazines and web sites I went to a local dress shop. My gown was the 3rd one I tried on!

I started at David's to get a feel for what styles I liked, and then headed to the local bridal shops. I got my dress from the first local bridal shop I went to.

I happened upon the Bridal Store in the local Macy's. They had a HUGE selection of gowns...a lot of the ones from designers that I liked. So we made an appointment and I got my dress there, it was one of the first few I tried on too! Both my Mom, MIL, and my bridesmaids all found the dresses they wanted there too, so they gave them a 15% discount on their dresses and I got a 25% discount on mine! They were really good to work with and their seamstress was fabulous. No complaints!
My dress is a Forsythe and the girls was an After 6 from Dessy.
I got my dress at Davids Bridal. It was the 1st one I tried on & it was on sale for $599 (orig $699); They normally have big sales on holiday weekends & most of the time the sales end on Monday nights. Here's a link to my dress:http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=345&prodgroup=10

Believe it or not I got my dress from Ebay. I went looking at the bridal shops in my area but nobody had what I was looking for. I wanted a dress that looked like Cinderella's dress with the scallops on the side. One day I looked on Ebay and the dress I imagined was there. The final price with shipping was only......................$80. :cool1:

Went to Davids and didn't see anything I liked. Fell in love with a Maggie gown but was unable to try it on before ordering from a local bridal shop. Then went and found THE dress at demetrios bridal. It was kinda pricey but I fell in LOVE  with it when I tried it on!

I got mine from a local bridal store. I went to David's and several other local bridal stores, but ended up getting mine at Bridals by Lori here in Atlanta. :)

Gotta love eBay! Got my gown for $95 plus shipping!! It is a dress I had seen before that I really liked. When I saw it on eBay, I went nuts and had to bid, figuring I would be outbid. Was I floored when I won the auction! Even more so when the dress got to me in three days from Hong Kong! The dress is gorgeous and well-made!

Ebay had some absolutely beautiful gowns for a fraction of the price. With a little of the money I saved, I had some minor alterations done. However, make sure you buy from a USA source. Some of the "made to order" gowns come from overseas and take 3 or 4 months to get here! :love2:

I found mine at David's. Actually, it was one I'd rejected on their website (did NOT look good on the model) but the sales girl coaxed me into trying it and it was clearly *the* dress. The people at David's refer to it as their "medieval dress". As my bridesmaids and I are medieval history buffs we giggled a little at that. Chiffon sleeves and princess seams... we called it "14th century evlish". Looked great on me though.
