I'll be staying right across the street from Disneyland, but I will also have a car at my disposal. Does anyone know any good restaurants off the beaten path? They would also have to be suitable for families. I don't mind driving for good food. I mean how many times can anyone eat McDonald's and Dennys?
Hope to hear from you.....:D

My family just got back from a week's trip to Disneyland/L.A. Besides the Downtown Disney restaurants (ESPN, RainForest Cafe), my family really enjoyed a meal we had at the Claim Jumper. There are several locations in the area. 2 locations are about 5 to 10 minutes from Disney. We went to the one across from Knotts Berry Amusement Park. HUGE portions, and lots of choices. My kids (ages 8 and 10) actually wanted to go back a second time, but we never could fit it in. Mostly american fare.

One of our favorites is called "The Orange County Mining Company" It's about 15-20 minutes from DL in the city of Orange. On the side of a hill in what looks like an old mining shack. Salads on pie tins, and drinks in jelly glasses. The waiters and waitresses dress like miners and the view is of the cities of Orange and Anaheim (or of the smog). $10-$20. Steak and seafood.
