Can anybody tell me how long the training program is for the walking a half marathon is as well as being 12 weeks out what week I should be on....and lastly...how long is my long walk this weekend. I am at work and my MFM book is at home. Can you tell I am starting to stress about my unpreparedness of my upcoming 1/2 marathon? Anyway, I am trying to figure out just how bad off I am at this point.....I guess it could be worse...right? :guilty:

Walk Half MArathon: 14 weeks total
If your half is 12 weeks from this sunday (5/22), you'd be on week 2 and your Sat. walk would be 3 miles.
If your half is 12 weeks form this past Sunday (5/15) you'd be on week one and your sat. walk would be 2 miles.
Since we're midweek, I wasn't sure where you were counting 12 weeks from. HTH :flower:

Monte,
Didn't mean to ot answer your question....sorry! MFM is Marathoning for Mortals. It is a book by John Bingham that many of us are using for our training and general knowlwdge. It had LOTS of information about marathoning. Some, like me, have never done anyhting like this and have never ran a day in their life and have aspirations to walk the Disney half. Did I mention I have NEVER even thought such a crazy thing.....well, there are a BUNCH of us doing this, and many of us like the John Bingham book for insight on how to make this all happen. The book is great regardless of where you are at in training....even if you have done this a million times, or never! He also has another great book, The Courage to Start. If you are thinking of doing the Disney half, both books are great! You may also want to check out the thread with a bunch of us that are training for some races....5K's - the Goofy race which includes a half marathon and a full marathon back to back in two days  Hope that helps. Come join us on the marathon thread! We are a fun bunch!!
