Hey there, Hi there, Ho there, hope your as happy as can be!!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo
My family of 4 will be going on our first trip WDW this June. We of course are on a tight budget. We are staying ASmovie, for 7 nights. And I've added the dining package.
I didn't reserve a fridge, but after reading post about the amount of food you get, I was wondering if we should spend the extra $70 for the week for the fridge??
We were planning on taking cooler, for extra water, milk, and stuff.
DO YOU THINK WE REALLY NEED A FRIDGE?? :confused3 :confused3
Forgiveness from all please, I've posted this on serveral differn't forms to get as much advise as possible. I need all the help I can get!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Thanks again

Have you considered investing the money in one of the thermo electric coolers now available? We have traveled with one many times and just kept the original packaging and check it along with our bags. It actually holds more than the small refrigerators the hotel provides. The one we have is nice because it heats and cools. Any discount or sporting goods store carries them.

We've never paid extra for a fridge -- if a room has it, GREAT, but if not, we're OK using a cooler and refilling it with ice. Good luck with your decision.

Before our frist trip to WDW in 2004 I purshased one of those portable fridges that you can plug into your cig lighter or stardard outlet. Since we drove down it come in really had not only on the road, but in our room (pop century). we ate breakfast in our rooms (cereal w/milk), sometimes lunch (Deli meat sandwhiches) and it also came in handy for leftovers from our resturant meals. The food court has microwaves and toaters you can use.
When we went in Feb 2005, we flew and I packed the fridge up and used our grocery stop from our town car service. Again we used it the same way we did last year for breakfast, lunch, snacks, etc.
it did wonders on both trips in terms of our budget and saved us time too. granted in the grand scheme of things $10 per day to rent one is not alot, but since i had one that was portable why not save that $10 and put it towards something else. We saved time by not having to wait in lines at the food court (not that we encountered many of those) but we could also eat while getting ready, kinda killing two birds with one stone.
I highly recommend bringing/renting a fridge. Especially when planning on storing things like milk. While a cooler with ice could also do a great job, i would be too worried about it possibly spoiling and the worry isnt worth it to me.
to add a little side note in prepping for our 2004 trip i was going to borrow my good fridge portable, but they ended up going on a short notice trip. so i needed to get one of my own. i knew i was accruing points on my debit card, but never really looked into what those points were good for. so in planning for the trip and ways to save $$ i looked into it and noticed that i could cash them in for gift cards to various stores and target was one of them. i submitted for the cards and using my $80 i free money and i was able to buy a nice portable and it cost of me all of $10!!
