Space Mountain Seating?

YEARS AGO, I believe, SM seating was in a single line, straddling the person in front of you. I'd like my 6 yo to go on SM, but I wouldn't be comfortable doing so unless the seating was as I described. I know at WDW the seating is individual, so I was wondering if anyone knew how the seating would be after the renovations. (Or was I simply imagining the straddling!!!)

The seating your thinking of is for the Matterhorn. Space Mountain seating is two people sitting next to eachother with individual lap bars.

Last I remember, Space Mountain at DL was in rows of 2 (unless they changed things with the renovation), so your child could sit next to you.

On a related note, the seating on DL's Splash Mountain IS the "straddled" seating, whereas the WDW SM is rows of 2.
