What are the crowds like around New Year's with FOTL? We neeed to go when school is out and that may be our only time. Is it just horrible or what? Is it too cold to swim? Does Portofino have an indoor pool?

NYE is crowded but my son and I did it without FOTL. A friend did it with FOTL and it was a breeze. PBH doesn't have an indoor pool but the outdoor pools are heated. PBH does have an indoor co-ed whirlpool in their spa that is beautiful.

Wow MF! I see you're up early too!
About that whirlpool at PBH. Do we have to be spa customers to use it, or is it available to hotel guests?

I've read that you can use it as Loew's 1st members. We used it when we were staying on Club level. There is a men's and ladies' locker room that's for the fitness ctr. and spa. There is a steam (the hottest I've seen) and sauna room in both with a connecting room to the whirlpool. We got there at 6 a.m.(I think) when they opened and had the place to ourselves. My daughter tried all of their sundries in the locker room. The showers are really nice and would be a time saver if your party were to try and get ready at the same time. Don't get wrong I love soaking in the deluxe room tub but in the morning the bathroom seems to get busy. They even had packaged toothbrushes and toothpaste.
