Portofino vs Royal Pacific

I would love the pros and cons of both hotels. I am debating between the two. Budget wise Royal Pacific fits better, but the c/s person told me that the rooms are small (family of 4...2 small kids with a small furry kid). We will not be going to universal, but instead to WDW on this trip. We are travleing with our shih tzu and are leaning towards this instead of the Residence Inn LBV. Oh, how I wish Disney had pet friendly hotels. :(

Any info would be wonderful.

From the Royal Pacific you can hear the roar of the Hulk coaster and see Islands of Adventure so well that you will want to go to that park. Your kids and your husband will want to go to that park when they hear and see it. For that reason I would choose Portofino - it is closer to Universal Studios which is a ot less noticeable than Islands of Adventure. Both hotels are beautiful. We swam at both and to me Portofino is a lot more relaxing and has two great pools whereas RP has only the one pool. We stayed at RP and yes the rooms are on the small side, but the same size as WDW moderates and WL.

I have been to all three Universal on-site hotels and the Royal Pacific is my favorite - and not because its the least expensive. I like the theme there and the shortest walk to the parks.
