Do you mean this one?

lemon juice
garlic salt

1 pkg taco seasoning
several tomatoes, chopped
3 green onions, chopped
4 oz black olives, sliced
9 oz jalapeno cheddar cheese dip

Layer as follows in a shallow dish & serve hot or cold:
bean dip
avocados
Sprinkle with lemon juice and garlic salt.
Mix sour cream, mayonnaise & taco seasoning mix & spread over beans & avocados.
tomatoes
green onions
black olives
Frito Lay cheddar cheese dip

There are several layered taco salads listed here Cooks.com (http://www.cooks.com/rec/search?q=layered+taco+salad). Can't vouch for them, but they all sound good!

I've done the "usual" mixed taco salad in the past - i.e., taco seasoned ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, green onions, black olives, taco chips, catalina dressing. (There are a million variations out there - some add beans, green peppers, jalapenas (sp) or use ranch dressing or salsa).

I don't see why you couldn't just layer all the ingredients, but I'd hold off on adding any kind of a "runny" dressing until just before tossing & serving.

BTW, I've also made the 7 layer dip for parties that piratesmate posted - always a real winner!
