View Full Version : Just got PIN email and called: they can't find it!

I got a PIN email today at 4pm, with an incredibly cheap "Stay, Play, and Dine" offer on it. Usually I wait too late to book these, so I called at 4:30pm in order to get a good resort/room deal. Well, the CM was able to pull me up by my phone #, but can't find a PIN attached to my name. He was able to pull one up under my maiden name, however, which has my current email (where the code was sent), address, phone number, husbands' name, etc attached to it as well. Hmm. We've been to WDW three times now since we've been married, my name was changed in the CRO system upon our arrival, I changed it at Disney.Com (which is where the emails are generated through) and have had ZERO trouble booking PIN codes in the past that were emailed to me, just like this one.
SO, after putting me on hold three to four times, fumbling around and telling me that even though my legal name is First Name, Maiden Name, Married Name, I wouldn't be able to use that code without approval from Guest Services, but he would be glad to book me a package at rack rate and see if they will let me apply it later. He was so inept sounding, though, I told him to not worry, I would just give his computer a chance to catch up with mine and I would call back tomorrow.
So frustrating...

You should just call back now. Most likely you will get a different CM with a different answer for you.

My pin came up under my maiden name and I had no problem getting it changed just by explaining that I had gotten married. The cm asked me several questions about addresses and then approved the pin.

Give it a little bit of time and call back again. Last year I had a PIN I was trying to book. I called minutes after it was received and they had no record of it. I kept calling back and they kept telling me the same things. I finally gave up and called back the next day and they pulled it up instantly. It must have just not been in the system yet.

So what are the chances after getting a pin email you can't use..getting one again that you can! I can't use the one I got but I could use one for Nov. :cool1:

If you have a pin code, simply provide that to the CM answering the phone. If they search the pin code they can tell which family it was issued to.

yeah, that's what I was trying to do last year. I called and said "I just got this email and it has a discount offer I would like to book." I would read them the PIN, they would type it in and say "that's not a valid PIN." I'd read it again and same thing. They tried searching by my name, address and email....nothing. But the next day when I called and read them the PIN it popped right up. I think it just wasn't loaded in to their system right when I got it. Literally it hit my inbox at say noon and I was on the phone with CRO at 12:05. :)

I got the PIN too....Darn Disney!! Tempting me with that great offer when we can't go again until next Spring! ;)
Do they usually release good deals for Spring time too?

Same thing happened to me. As it turns out they have 4 different database entries for my family. Finally after dealing with 3 different cms- I got a great CM who found it for me.

Make sure you are reading all the fine print. The one I received (a while back) did not fit my dates, but sure enough after reading the fine print at the bottom, it said something about additional dates ____ thru _____ available, and that fit my travel dates!

How do you get these PIN's. We've been going to disney alot lately and haven't seen any discount codes for rooms, so I'm looking for new ways to find discounts.

PIN codes are issued by the marketing department, not by CRO or by any other means. The information the Cm's gather in the beginning of the call are things that the Marketing department use to determine those who get codes. At this time the only way to get one is to be issued one, you can't request one. Sorry.
