:wave2:

After reading the don't recline thread - I am worried about our flight on Monday - travelling will be me, dh, dd(4) ds(2) dd(7mts) mill & fil - I have prebooked our seats towards the back of the plane (flying Virgin) so we have the 4 in the middle & 2 next to us...

However I really want bulk head seats - *** dd (7mts) will be on my lap and I don't think I could cope with an 8hr flight with the person in front having their seat back all flight while dd is on my lap..

Does anyone know the rule with bulk head seats??? I know I cannot prebook (already checked, but have requested) we are using twlight check in on Sunday and plan to get to the airport early - but *** I want to sit with dh and my 2 other kids (and with inlaws as well) we would need the 4 bulk head seats, but will they let me have all 4 when I would only use 1 sky cot??? just don't want to be sat seperated from the rest of my family - *** my other 2 kids will want to be next to me.... or will they give me one bulkhead seat and sit dh and kids on the 3 seats the other side???

Also taking with us 3 carseats !!!!! will Virgin give me big plastic bags to put them in - or should I just put then in black bin liners???

Thanks

Nat

I don't know about the car seats but I was under the impression that the bulkhead seats were intended to be allocated to such as yourselves with a youngster (probably because of people reclining their seats - won't go into that again). Also as I understand they wouldn't split you from your family unless there was absolutely no other seats available.

They will definitely try to seat you all together if they possibly can Nat.

One option might be to ask nicely for the 3 seats on one side of the plane, plus the 3 behind - rows 21 & 22 for example.

the situation is that the bulkhead seats are allocated to parents with children in skycots and their families. Virgin do have a policy of trying to keep families together.
HOWEVER and this is the big one, there are a finite amount of bassinets avialable, so you really should phone the Flying Club if you are a member or Virgin special assistance.

Re the car seats, we have a slazenger cricket bag and put them in that. You do see car seats going round uncovered, but that is the choice of the traveller.

You should definitely make sure you have requested bassinets, call now if you can. They won't guarantee it, but we have never had a problem.
