Kind of a strange topic but what the heck. This isn't a deal breaker, but has anyone had any particular challenges getting cell coverage at DLR? What providers have you had problems with?

I live on the fringe of many cell providers, so I am looking at SprintPCS since they are the only provider that gets 5-bar signal strength in my neighborhood. We will be traveling a bit in the next year (DLR and Maui) and would like to have decent coverage to stay in touch. This and my bride's Qwest phone would probably be our alternative to shelling out $ for FRS radios too.

Thanks!

We have Sprint and I was able to call my sister, back in Portland, OR, from inside It's A Small World a couple years ago just so she could hear the music.. It was funny to be riding a ride and talking to her. Also this past weekend she was down in the park with her family and called me while walking in Downtown Disney.. Got a few distractions but could hear her for the most part..

That sounds like a great idea!!! My mom won't be able to join us when we go to DL and I'm going to have to call her from IASW. It'll be great!!!! She'll make sure to be able to go the next time we visit!!!

I have Nextel and will be going to DL in a few days. I'll let you know how it goes.

I was also in Maui in February and the coverage was good. The only time I really had any trouble was on the Road to Hana, but even then it came in and out. We didn't go up Haleakala this time, but I'd guess coverage would be limited up there as well...

Last year, my DH was on Star Tours when the guy next to him got a cell phone call... and proceeded to continue the conversation during the remainder of the ride.... all while bumping around. Don't know who his cell phone carrier was, but the signal was apparently strong enough to go through all the walls and machinery.

I use Alltel and have an old phone. I still had no problems at all.

I had no problem with my AT&T cell phone service in Disneyland.

I have Verizon. Worked great outside, but not inside some attractions (I think this may be intentional).
