I just received my DC member number. I went to National and input all the info. I am also an Emerald member. The price does not change at all when I put in the DCmember#. Maybe I'm putting the code in the wrong place, but I'm pretty sure I've tried everything. Also, what do you think of a price of $196 (b/4 taxes) for 10 days in June 2002?

Are you putting in the DC CONTRACT# for National from the DC member's website? Are you also putting in the DC COUPON # for One Free Day from National, also found on the DC member's website? The DC coupon and contract codes go in their respective boxes on your National reservation. Your membership # won't work.:)

pbhunt - Thank you so much. I can't believe what a dope I was. It took me forever to figure out what you were talking about. I'm not usually that slow. Anyway, I can't thank you enough - the base rate is down to $159.85 for 10 days (saved $50 thanks to you). This seems like a really great rate for 10 days, so I booked it.
Now I'm going to get some sleep. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Sorry, I thought I mentioned it wasn't including taxes. It's $213 including taxes. That still seems great though, don't you think?

Yes, that is a great rate as a matter of fact that is the rate I am waiting for for Jan. My base rate hasn't come down yet so I am still at $240. total tax included.

honestly; you have plenty of time to play - just keep watching. The rate is good but I currently am holding a rate of $208 with taxes for 12 days - 11/21-12/02. A little better. Plus when the time comes there should be a new coupon out for DC in 2002, that will probably help a little.

Congratulations on the rate, Ityldu. You weren't slow at all about figuring it out, it took you like, what, 20 minutes? I think it took me close to 2 weeks (with Pluto's help) to figure out how to use the combined codes for National. And Pluto, you always get the BEST car rental rates!:) :)
