I could hear a phone ringing in the distance.........Oh no I've slept in for work......then I open my eyes and realise I’m on holiday!! Next thought….someone has died. Yes the Pope had died the day before but don’t think anyone would phone to tell us that. It was some sad news that the other family – who were due to arrive later than day, were still in Glasgow. Passport problems. The long and short of it was they wouldn’t be here till maybe Tuesday. Well, everyone felt a bit flat after this news. We didn’t have any real plans today – so we all agreed to just have a day in the villa, at the pool.
So this was the kids today – another 5 still to come!!!

We went out for a short time to the supermarket at Formosa Gardens Shopping Centre. Is it a Winn-Dixie?? Not 100% sure. Bought more crisps, fruit, WINE!!!!!, BEER!!!!!. Then we got Subs for lunch from Subway. Made some jam sandwiches for the kids, and everyone was happy!!! I must tell you about this most delicious wine I had today (and several other days......) ;) . White Merlot, from Ernest and Julio Gallo Twin Valley Label. Now I LOVE Californian Rose wine, White Zinfandel, White Grenache etc. This was really nice. Sweet, and quite dark for a rose, but very easy to drink……hic!

So a very restful day was spent around the pool and jacuzzi…..gorgeous weather again, mid 70’s, no clouds. :sunny: Tan coming along nicely! The pool was quite private, with some wooded area at the back. I felt very rested and relaxed, and to be honest in no hurry to get to the parks!!!!

We decided to stay local and head to TGI Fridays at Formosa Shopping Centre for dinner. Usual TGI’s layout and food. I had a steak, Tony had a Cobb Salad, Anthony had macaroni and Christopher had pizza. Nice food – but nothing out of the ordinary.
We headed home for a game of cards. This became the nightly routine once the kids went to bed. Playing a card game called Benny. I’d never heard of it before, but it is such a laugh, especially after a few sherbets!!!!!

Thanks Cath, I hope your friends made it over eventually. It must have been a great disappointment for them not to heading to Orlando as they originally planned. Again much appreciate you including photos. :)

Hi Cath, just loving your trip report and as you're staying in the same area (Formosa Gardens) as we will in July it makes it all even more interesting. I have to agree with you about Giordano's - it was the favourite destination for our teenagers in the evening. :goodvibes

Disappointment for the other family.

Can't wait to see how many children are in the whole party - you are so brave

Hi Cath I am really enjoying reading your trip report - hope the other family arrive safely - but had to post as we always take a pack of cards on hols with us and we always play Benny - I have yet to come across anyone else other than our immediate family that know the game and the kids love it, DH (who is also called Tony) is useless at it and has never ever won a game in almost 18 years of marriage.

Sorry to hear about the other family:)

You seem to have to same taste as I do in wine and I like the sound of that one, I will be sure to taste it the next time I go.
